Lights out Lidge! Imagine if you had a closer out of your pen like him down the stretch last year :lol

He just made 3 hitters look stupid.

Lol yeah choker.....suuuuure. Worst part of that inning was that they fucked lidge by talking to that dumbass kenny rogers. Other than oswalts sub-par performance (not the worst by an NL pitcher though :D) stros' have been representing.

WTF Ensberg you know you get one at bat and you swing at the first pitch :|

Being a baseball all-star is the worst, at least in every other pro sports all star/pro bowl game everyone gets enough playing time to make the trip worth it heh. Alot of these guys had family flown out, had to get tickets, etc. so their families can see them do nothing or next to nothing :lol

Totally. :lol Tejada gave off a total "yeah, thanks for the car there... whats that, one of them Escorts or K-car or something? My sisters kid is 15 and a half, I'll see if he wants it" vibe about the car, but he was clearly proud and stoked for the win and his play.

PS: NL sucks, thank god after a half season of Foulke sucking ass Francona doesn't know what a proper closer looks like so he tapped BJ Ryan in the ninth to make the score respectable.

Points about the game

-HOOOOLY SHIT @ Andruw Jones' HR.
-2 Broken Bats by The Wizard of Os. (my heart was in my throat when the bat went right at Oswalt's legs. Oswalt is Prior'd-Proof!!! Take that Prior! Take that Halladay!)
-Clemens going 1-2-3 in the inning.
-Lidge STRIKES OUT THE SIDE ON NINE PITCHES! ALL SWINGING STRIKES...oh, you didn't see that? NEITHER DID ANYONE ELSE...FUCK YOU KENNY ROGERS!

Man we could have been called the killer M's,Desperado change your name :P

The Killer M's, I like that sound of that.

I didn't get a chance to see the all star game, but I have it Tivo'd... I'm going to have to see Lidge pwn the american league... didn't realize it was on 9 pitches.

Nine swinging strikes IIRC.

Maybe now that Gammo is insider only he'll start actually proofreading his columns before he puts them up.

His total on the night was 11 pitches, of the 11 though only one was touched and it was foul tipped straight into the catchers glove. Pretty impressive especially considering he had 3 strikeouts. Mora, sweeney, and anderson didn't just whiff on the sliders, they looked foolish heh. After the first 2 sliders i think the catcher just kept on signaling for lidge to keep throwing it :lol.

Yeah I'm very excited about the World Classic. American baseball fans maybe don't realize yet how cool it could become to have a proper best-on-best tourney in a sport when there's several really good nations and bragging rights means something. I have Rich Harden throwing a 3 hit shutout in a quarter final game to get Canada in the top 3! :D

The Blue Jays might be the most intriguing option because Burnett (5-5, 3.33) has made no secret of his desire to be reunited with former Marlins pitching coach Brad Arnsberg, now with Toronto. The Blue Jays are willing to deal closer Miguel Batista, a former Marlin, but he's owed more than $6 million on a contract that runs through 2006. Burnett will make about $1.8 million the rest of this season.
--Miami Herald

The Marlins are known to covet Toronto's rookie left-hander Gustavo Chacin, and a major league source said Tuesday the Blue Jays would be willing to part with him in a deal for Burnett. The key would be getting Burnett signed to a contract extension during a 72-hour negotiating window."
--Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel

I'm all for that trade for AJ Burnett. He's risky because of his injury history of course but hell every pitcher is risky and could blow out a joint any minute now. I think Chacin is a good young pitcher but Burnett is a potential awesome #2 starter behind Doc. Batista is a very good closer but makes too much money really.

Thats pretty much a projected roster of the Dominicans for the World Classic. Unstoppable comes to mind.

The US will have the best squad overall I think simply because they have crazy depth up and down the roster. Consider the US will probably have guys at every position who DIDN'T make the team yet who are nearly as good as anyone who will make the team - injuries, players declining invites and the like won't affect the strength of the US team on paper at all.

The Dominican's have the best offense on paper, but the US has the best overall pitching and an offense that is very close to the the Dominican's IMO.

I think Japan will challenge for 3rd spot with Venezuela and Canada. Yes, I'm picking Canada to make some noise as much with my heart as my head, but sue me. :D If the other nations have an advantage over the US it's that the players (and fans and media) of the other countries will likely be much more invested in an international tourney and care more in some ways. You could see on TV here in Canada where guys like Jason Bay, Rich Harden and Ryan Dempster were talking about how great it would be to play and how they knew the ppl back home would be excited about it. In an interview at the beginning of the year Gagne was talking about how cool it would be to represent the country in a best on best tournament "like the hockey players".
