Look who is tied for the AL wild card lead now! The White Sox could possibly reward their best record in baseball by having to play the As in a 5 game series in the first round! :lol

Looking at the NL East and NL West standings, I'm starting to wonder if the entire NL East will finish above .500 while the entire NL West finishes under .500!

The Dodgers are 10 games under .500, 44-54, and only 5.5 games out of first place! Must be nice! :lol

:lol They said on Baseball Tonight the other day that the Padres were something like 7-13 in their last 20 games and STILL gained 1.5 games on their lead. That division is just BAD. Whoever wins it is just gonna get thrashed in the 1st round by the Cards. MLB should step in and take away their automatic playoff birth and just have two wildcard teams.
 
My favourite part of last nights game was how Morgan and whoever the hell the announcer is were still raving about Reyes' pitching to Barret as Perez's line drive was zipping down the line. :lol

I love it when you can tell announcers are annoyed at players for fucking up when the announcer is raving about them because it screws up their spiel. :D

Yeah, what is the scoop on Morgan. I missed that whole saga with Sandberg. What is the deal? Morgan won't even show up at the hall of fame ceremony this year because Sandberg is getting inducted!

Well for one he hates second basemen. In his mind, he is the greatest 2B of all time and the only one deserving of the HOF. :P

Wow, this is getting better and better. When Wood gets off the 15 day DL they are going to try him out of the bullpen. We'll have a 12 million dollar long reliever! Yay! :lol

Sorry to interrupt the entertaining chain of discussion between baseball fans with actual knowledge, but I need to post a(most likely) incredibly stupid question: What is the difference between a No-Hitter and a Perfect Game?
 
a no hitter is simply no hits allowed. the pitcher could have walked one or multiple batters.
a perfect game is no hits and no walks. no base runners whatsoever. 27 up, 27 down.
 
No hitter = no hits, but a walk, or an error was made.
Typical line for a No hitter...
9 innings pitched, 0ER, 1 walk, 0 hits, 0 runs.


Perfect game = No hits, no walks, no errors, no runs scored.
 
Plus you can lose a game pitching a no hitter (9 inning regulation) game where it is IMPOSSIBLE to lose pitching a perfect game.

With that said, I'd probably kill myself if I pitched a no hitter and lost (and it has happened multiple times in baseball history).
 
Of course there's always the possibility of pitching a perfect game for 9 innings, have the game go into extra innings, and give up a hit in the 10th..
