Smoltz gave up the 2-run HR to Beltran. You can blame the bullpen for not holding it at 2-1, though.

Ahh, I see it now. Yahoo had an error where it showed him as only giving up 8 hits, no runs.
 
Way to go Reds ... down 5-2 now after not getting Milton out of there early, the same thing Wilson did yesterday. This is why you don't pitch people on 3 days rest .... shit. I'dd rather have had pitched Claussen instead of fucking 4 man rotation.
 
Bagwell and Ensberg back-to-back...very nice to see them get their power strokes going early in the season...especially "no HRs before the all-star break" Morgan...he almost had a GS earlier, Junior grabbed it about a foot in front of the wall in left-center...

The Dodgers need to just release Hee Seop Choi and cut their losses while they can. He does not deserve to be in the majors. Congrats to Norihiko Nakamura on his first major league hit! :D Let's get him at 1B if we have to, but from how he played in spring training, it's clear he can hit the ball and should be in our lineup.

Boooooooooooooo! Oh well, not a bad start for the season. 4-2 on the road with a beat down bullpen is decent enough. We shouldve gotten more than 1 run when we had the bases loaded, Drew finally breaking through is also nice.

Oh no you poor bastard, I got to run my mouth for 7 1/3 glorious innings! 15 strikeouts! Your team still sucks donkey balls Kuroyume. The only reason you won today is because Pedro pitched all nine innings and Tom Martin is a fucking piece of shit that won't make it out of Atlanta alive tonight... I've personally looked into the matter and can assure everyone that he will never come into a Braves game again.

Also, see how many games Pedro will wind up pitching this year if he has to pitch more than 7 innings or so a start. Just wait. This changes NOTHING. Your team is still in last and sucks ass, my team is still in first and has the best starting pitching in the national league. Face it. God hates the Mets, but he was busy picking a new pope or something today. Only reasonable explanation(that and Pedro's satanism).
 
The Astros will crush any little hope the Mets got from their first win of the season today. I expect the Mets to be 2-7 by Wednesday. :)

I love the way the Braves rotation is setup this season. 1-5, they have a WICKED staff. Every single starter can shut down a team. I see plenty of long winning streaks for the Braves this year and not many long losing streaks.

Oh, and Francouer and Marte are tearing up the minors already. Marte has 3 home runs in 4 games and a 1.504 OPS. Francoeur has 2 home runs in 4 games and a 1.412 OPS. :)

Thankfully Jordan has started hitting. Mondesi better start shaping up or one of the youngsters is going to relegate his ass to the bench. :lol
 
Well, that didn't take long for the Cubs to catch the Reds. Eh Lonestar! :D

PS- It looks like Prior is gonna make his first start Tuesday. He got crushed in his AAA outing I think he needs another start or two in AAA before coming back to the team!

Man I hope so. I think Francoeur and Marte are our corner outfielders of the future. It sucks that Marte is a 3b by trade, but I'm sure he can learn to play left. If Ryan Klesko can do it, anyone can! But I think that when Mondesi gets hurt/starts pouting you'll see Francoeur first, as he's used to playing in the outfield.

Any Astros fans hear anything about Berkman's return? It sound good or bad? My brother has him and I want him, but if I wait till his checkup and it comes back positive then the price will go up. I have a few closers so I'm going to offer Hoffman (who stinks so far this year, yeah he should be a lot better soon but still) and ask for Berkman - assuming he'll be back 100% in a couple of weeks - and Calero. Or maybe I'll ask for Berkman and the concussed-up Morneau and hope Morneau isn't seeing stars for too much longer.

EDIT: Mig your rhymes were so compelling I picked up Taveres from waivers. :lol Of course that means if he falls off and gets sent to the minors or benched I blame you.

Woohoo, more pitching duels coming up between the Pads and Cubs: Tomorrow Prior versus Peavy and then Wednesday Woods versus B-Law (Brain Lawrence).
 
Freddy Garcia pitched 8, gave up 1 ER. shingo with the save. awesome game. our starters continue to be out-fucking-standing.


and watching the Cubs lose 1-0 was quite a treat.
