Hmmm, wonder if the Dodgers will be able to avoid a sweep tonight against the Diamondbacks. They were able to do so against the Rockies, but I'm really getting tired of trying to root for them to avoid a sweep. :-p Guess I'm just spoiled by how well they started off. Oh well, figured they'd start to fall back into the pack eventually (just wish it didn't happen so quickly). Hmm, Weaver to pitch for LA today. Which Weaver will show up I wonder? Will it be the Weaver who pitched 9 innings of 5 hits and no ER in a 6-0 win against San Diego or will it be the Weaver who pitched 4 innings and gave up 13 hits and 8 runs in a 9-1 loss to the Rockies? I'm betting on the later :-p Bah! >:-\

I was wondering that myself, I dont understand how he can be such a headcase. Hopefully your wrong and we dont get another batting practice session from Weaver. :lol

I hope I'm wrong too (note, I do tend to be overly pessimistic) :lol Even if Weaver does struggle, I do hope the Dodgers bats offer him some help. They haven't exactly been lighting it up lately which hasn't helped matters :-p :) I wish they'd have kept Beltre *sigh* At least Drew is starting to do better :)

The end of the 2006 season may be even sweeter than the end of this season. Mussina, Posada, and possibly Wright could come off the books.

schilling has walked the walk twice in the past 4 years. he has earned his right to talk shit.

and i cant believe mussina makes almost 20 million a year. biggest rip-off in all of baseball right now.

why is schilling always flapping his mouth? i think he's trying to quote his way into the hall of fame.

When he was in Arizona and he and Randy won the title for us, he still annoyed the shit out of me. I was sad to see him go from a fan perspective, but this guy needs to get his own talk show and have it be over with, seriously. He just loves to hear himself talk.

if curt schilling is a hall of a famer...mike mussina is a hall of famer...that just isnt happening.

mussina has done jackshit in the playoffs, while Shill has helped 2 teams to the world championship (one of which happens to be the friggin' Red Sox, for crissakes) and is widely conidered one of the best postseason pitchers of all time. He's got a VERY legit shot at the Hall.

he might make it because the media like him but looking at his overall stats as of right now he doesnt deserve to get in. it should be based on a career not just a few years.

if the bulls didn't win i'd be more pissed off. FUCK THAT UMP. Ozzie's been tossed only 3 times in his managerial career(counting today), and twice this Hunter prick has been the one that did it. Last year he even got suspended for it because this ump bitched at the league to do it.

When was the last time anywhere here see an ump call back a hit batsman because he didn't get out of the way? I honestly can't remember ever seeing that happen. Total fucking BS.
Then he kicks out Crede for throwing his bat and mumbling something. Ump is a stupid fuckpanel.

WE HAD TO MOVE JERMAINE DYE TO SHORTSTOP. ARE YOU JOKING?

jesus christ. but i'm happy with 16-6, and to be out of oakland. house of horrors is right.
glad to see freddy go seven strong through. 7 IP, only 1 run. our starting pitching continues to be fantastic.

Is it just me or does it seem ex-Marlin players get hurt often, or have a sluggish year after they leave? Fox isn't the same, Pavano gets beaned in the face, Benitez out for 4-5 months, Mike Redmond injured. All of this happening in their first year leaving the Marlins, for this season! Oh and I can't forget about Penny either.

Curse? Voodoo? :lol

Couldn't even take one game at home?

Enjoy second place, Dodgers. :lol

Can't believe how bad the Dodgers have been lately. I knew we'd cool off after that hot start.. but 1-6 since? Jesus guys! At least Drew is hitting .263 now? heh

By the way, can someone explain to me why in fantasy baseball I picked TODAY TO BE THE DAY I TAKE COREY PATTERSON OUT OF MY LINEUP??! First day out of the lineup and the ass goes 3 for 5, 2 runs, 2 rbi's, and a hr. Replaced with the 0/3 of Jeremy Burnitz. Never again. Oh, and the fact that the rest of my lineup had 1 hit and 0 rbi's, runs, whatever didn't help too much either! *shakes head*

Anyway, love you CoPat. Thanks for the walk off.

Jays fans, I'm stuck at my desk all day and I'm going to bet on the Jays-Devil Ray matinee and watch it on MLB.tv. Who should I bet on?

Jays pitcher J Towers +145, or
D-Rays pitcher D Waechter -165

Honestly I've never heard of either one of them. This isn't high stakes or anything I want some kind of reason rather than just a blind guess. Thanks

Sigh, Marlins/Rockies doubleheader was post-ponned today. No make-up date announced. Looks like the pitching lineup will change a bit when they play the Phillies. It should now be Burnett, Willis, and Beckett.

Thanks fifty, when are you getting a 900 number, a nickname like The Toronto Kid, and your "lock of the millenium?"

No, thank you, for trusting the Jays!

It was a pretty good game today. Batista gave us a good scare in the 9th inning, but it's now clear to me that he has himself on his fantasy team, and he merely wanted a save, so he had to give up one run so it was a 3 run lead. We needed this sweep.

Schilling's a lock for the hall. The sock sealed it. Number of wins means nothing. He has two WS rings, 1 which he won with the Unit almost completely alone. The other broke 85 years of losing.

Mussina on the other had has no shot.

jimmy key: 15 seasons, 186 wins, 117 losses, career era 3.51, 2 world series rings

curt schilling 17 season, 184 wins, 123 losses, career era 3.33, 2 world series rings

does jimmy key get in too?

new PR's: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2048203

1. Chicago White Sox: How about Jon Garland? The righty is 4-0, 1.80 in four starts. He could finally reach his potential this season.

2. Baltimore Orioles: We are officially among the growing members of the Bruce Chen fan club. Gotta love his perseverance.

3. St. Louis Cardinals: With a seemingly healthy Matt Morris, the Cards have the pieces in place to once again run away with the NL Central title.

4. Los Angeles Dodgers: Jeff Kent is showing more and more that when it's all said and done he's going to be among those in Cooperstown.

5. Florida Marlins: Only Cardinals starters have given up fewer home runs this season in the NL (Florida seven, St. Louis six).

6. Atlanta Braves: Just 26th in hitting (.238) and on-base percentage (.307) yet they keep winning. Never doubt Bobby Cox. Ever.

7. Boston Red Sox: Curt Schilling and David Wells go on the DL with Boomer to miss a month. Wild card may not be a lock, after all.

8. Los Angeles Angels: Just one homer and a .294 OBP from Garret Anderson through 20 games. That can't last.

9. Arizona Diamondbacks: They are currently 11-4 against the NL West. We smell a worst-to-first scenario unfolding.

10. Minnesota Twins: Pitching staff is sporting an approximate 5½-1 strikeout to walk ratio led by Johan Santana and Brad Radke.

...

14. Chicago Cubs: Had enough of Dusty Baker? For just $8.95 a year, you can create your own website: We suggest, firedusty.com.

:lol :lol :lol

You can't possibly compare Jimmy Key and Schilling. I hate the fucking Red Sox more than anyone, but lets be realistic. The guy is a fucking hero to everyone who hates the damn Yankees. He shut down the Yanks with the Unit. He helped reverse the curse. That stuff is not overlooked.

Shit, Joe, rooting for the Yankees you should understand the "intangibles" concept.

90% of people don't even remember Jimmy Key. No fan of the past 5 years alone will forget Schilling.

Speaking of Hall of Fame, is there any reason how the Yanks beat the shit of an ace like Colon, and then die in the face of John Lackey and his 8 ERA?

It's damn ugly.

On a positive note, Brown's only given up 3 on 900 hits so far. I think he'll do better if they let him grow his old moustache back.

You yankees fans crack me up(in a good way).

:lol :lol :lol

The answer is simple. Colon is on my fantasy team, and god hates me.
