TOO LITTLE TOO LATE TOO LITTLE TOO LATE

how many times have you guys seen me post this? its really starting to piss me off.

The Yankees need someone that can defend in the outfield and slap some goddamned singles/doubles around. Just that would allow for some balance in the lineup...and it'd get Tony Womack the fuck out of the batting order.

Mark Kotsay.

But who would you trade?

I would sacrifice myself for the great Emperor Steinbrenner. :o

...other than that, I wager Billy Beane would probably need a prospect to satisfy his rookie/sabermetrics woody, so I'd theoretically part with Eric Duncan and Womack.

yanks are interested in mike cameron and mark kotsay (in that order). id rather get kotsay, cameron strikes out way too much. wang would be my first pick to trade, he's gonna get murdered his second time through the league (as evidenced by the devil rays).

Don't worry Yankee fans, even if you don't get Kotsay, you've got Derek!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Duncan having a very mediocre year in the minors right now? I can't see Beane being too interested in him. As for Tony Womack, who in the right mind would want him? Certainly not the "Billyball" A's, as they prefer guys that can actually get on base (which coincidentally their sabremetric guys aren't doing). Wang has overperformed, the Yankees should try to sell his ass now if they want maximum value.

i like to think that no gm in the whole mlb would be willing to trade with the yankees at this point. steinbrenner made this 206 million dollar bed, now he must sleep in it for another 89 games.

I had to help a family member move today (95 degrees and humid today too. Sucked!)! Listened to the game on the radio. What a pathetic display. NO worries though the last two games are Cubs wins!

Duncan is having a lousy year, though he's a 20 year old at Double A so you can't write him off yet. And in case you haven't noticed, the A's already have a third baseman. Though Duncan's defense at third is suspect anyway, which makes him even less impressive.

Anyhow, at this rate the A's will be closer to contention than the Yankees by the trading deadline...Oakland's won 9 of 13, they're winning again tonight and Harden just came off the DL. :P

You're nuts,Ben Affleck nuts.

Your team is inching closer and closer to Stros land, below .500 :)

Dodgers lose, Dodger lose, same story almost everday now...

The good news for Dodger Fan and Eric Gagne was his successful surgery. The surgery lasted 90 minutes and DIDN'T involve ligament replacement (Tommy John Surgery). Instead of being out the anticipated 12-14 months, if he had Tommy John surgery, he will just miss the rest of this season and be ready by next spring training.

thank you, milwaukee. now a 10.5 game lead we have.
our record at this point in the season is the best of any other team at this point in the last 4 years.

"Center fielder Bernie Williams, an accomplished guitarist, will have a doubleheader at Fenway Park on July 16. The Yankees and the Red Sox have a game scheduled for 1:05 p.m., and Williams and Boston pitcher Bronson Arroyo, who has a CD of his songs coming out soon, will play at a postgame concert."

the yankees scouted jason schmidt but werent interested because the giants want top talent which the yanks have very little of (cano). the red sox are gonna make a serious play for schmidt though.

juan pierre is another outfielder the yanks have their radars set on. i think pierre is the best player they could get, he would add so much.

Garland > Prior

He actually stays healthy all year. Plus, you know Prior will be on a pitch count. I know it's Dusty and the pitch count will be like 260 pitches, but your bullpen will be used some time around the 6th or earlier. No lead is safe at that point.

The formula seems to be PUT UP 20 RUNS, and then lose a lot. I've never been embarassed to be a Yankee fan. I survived the Mattingly years, and prior to that the Winfield years. This year, though....

ok, well let's compare complete stats of 85+ starts.

oh wait.....

anyway, i'll be at work all day, so i'll have to hope to catch most of the game on the radio. but once i get back tonight i'll be happy to gloat about exposing prior for the fraud he is.
