Jays win. O Dog with 2 HRs. Since there are strong rumors he'll be traded, this can only be a good thing, raising his trade value, especially if we're winning in the process

I know I defended Alan Embree last week, but he isn't really doing much to help himself now. His ERA is now at 7.79, and that is not going to get it done. Granted, he got help from the awful Ramon Vasquez, but Embree still was the one to allow the baserunners. Either way, it looks like the Sox now know what they really need: a decent reliever and a competent utility infielder. Get on the phone Theo, let the Pokey Reese era redux begin!

Beltran would have more value in TO offensively and both he and Wells are very good defensive CF's so both teams get good fits. Of course, Wells isn't a 40-40 threat like Beltran but a solid, dependable closer like Batista would flourish in the NL. Anyways, nobody mentions ENOUGH how the Yanks are missing 2 starting pitchers and are falling back on 2 last second replacements. No Brown for the last week and a half (who was just settling down) and now Wright this season causes for a crazy-ass 5 pitcher rotation.
The Yanks have lucked out with the great pitching of Wang, but the Brown spot is still sorely missed. (Jon Leiber is too by the way. He's accidently got dropped off in Philadelphia.)
Not giving up on this season or anything but this offseason is going to be crazy for the Yanks. Hopefully alot of cleaning up, and alot of reorganizing of the farm teams.
Cleaning up = a more consistent lineup day-in day-out. It's important for the players to get used to who hits before and after them. If you look at the individual batting avg's of the players, each are having great years. But teams score by knowing how to react on the basepaths.
