You're the one who talked shit about the series before The Cell. You brought it and your team couldn't back it up!

oh no, i accept responsibility for all the shit i talked. i have that coming to me. but not shit from people who don't even live here, yet are going to tell ME what the atmosphere around here is like.

but you see, this is where you look like a moron....

The sox got punked. Face it your team got wiped out by the superior team!

ARE YOU STUPID? DO YOU NOT REMEMBER THE SERIES AT WRIGLEY?

THE CUBS GOT PUNKED. FACE IT YOUR TEAM GOT WIPED OUT BY THE SUPERIOR TEAM!

christ. THIS WAS A SEASON SPLIT. WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND. I deserve to take shit for badmouthing prior, but NEITHER OF US HAVE ANY ROOM TO BRAG WHEN WE SPLIT

christ. im done commenting on anything cubs/sox

yes, now that is true. however, by the end of the year you will be the one paying me $10.

also mrbob, i really should dig up that quote about you giving upon the cubs and jumping on the white sox bandwagon. a true diehard fan, you are....

Pffft, temporary moment of insanity. I also remember telling you after the Sox took 2 of 3 at Wrigley that payback would be a bitch! :)

What are you talking about? When are YOU going to jump on the Mets bandwagon? I'm expecting it to happen. Everyone eventually succumbs to Mets fever.

Braves.

And yes, I fully admit that they're probably going to choke first round if they make the playoffs! Self-owned

Hey, once we get Chipper, Hampton, and Hudson back, and trade Furcal for some more bullpen support, I like our chances!

...

no, I'm not kidding myself this year...

A "W" tonight

Hey RC, since you live in/near LA, what is the media's reaction to the Dodgers free fall? Are they blaming Tracy? Depo? or giving everyone the benefit of the doubt because of all our injuries?

I'm currious too. If there's any hiring/firing, I hope they wait for the offseason. I don't think Tracy has done a bad job (I don't think firing him will somehow dramatically turn the team around and I think he deservers another year with a healthy team). I am a bit disappointed with DePodesta's past offseason dealings. Hopefully the Dodgers will start to give their farm system some more attention and develop some talent within the organization instead of trying to purchase it from elsewhere from guys that only have a few years or so left in them. Also, Dodgers could use some good prospects to help with the starting pitching... *sigh*

Most of the Media believes he will be fired soon enough even though Depodesta keeps denying it and applauding the job Tracy has done with all the injuries. Depodesta seems more concerned with acquiring another starting pitcher. He has said on numerous occasions that if he does acquire a starting pitcher it would be for prospects and not for anyone on the current roster.

Now to last nights game, another decent start by Houlton. He really settled in after a shaky start, he's defenitely a different pitcher when starting compared to when they had him in the bullpen. Nice to see some offense other than the HR ball after the sweep by the Anaheim Angels where Werth accounted for every run in the series.

I am a bit disappointed with DePodesta's past offseason dealings.

The only spot on the roster where I can say I am truly disappointed in Depodesta is the catcher. Phillips is doing an amazing job from the offensive side compared to what we had last year but defensively he quite weak.

They really would be making a mistake by getting rid of Tracy. I dont think you can blame any of this on him.. who'd have guessed Izzy's batting average would fall off 75 points in a month and that we'd be so plagued by injuries. I think the Dodgers have a good solid core and when we get over some of these injuries, things will get back to normal. As is, we're still in the race and it's early -- I hope they dont make any drastic moves.

Well I was a little disappointed that the Dodgers didn't keep Beltre, but whatever. At least he's not exactly tearing it up in Seattle so that makes me feel a little better *guilt* (though I do wish him the best and hope he can turn it around after the All-Star break).

Buehrle goes 6.2 and gives up 1 run en route to his 9th straight win. 10-1 with an ERA just above 2.

Hermanson gives off the lead off triple in the bottom of the 9th and doesn't let him score.....nice hitting detroit :lol :lol

I still say Garland is a little overrated this year. He has pitched really good, but he doesn't have to face the number one pitchers all the time like Buehrle does. Buehrle is the real deal, though.

yeah, garland has gotten some of the easier matchups, but he has faced some decent opponents. Radke, Zito and Ortiz off the top of my head.
His ERA and WHIP are both very impressive though(3.25 ERA, a ridiculous 1.06 WHIP).

But yeah, 12 wins so far is definitely overachieving. However, if he can keep that ERA and WHIP up all year, he deserves all the wins he gets.

:lol :lol :lol looking at the AL stats, Buehrle is #3 in WHIP, Garland is #4, and Garcia is #6

Twins blow their lead and are losing to KC now :lol

Zambrano in a jam....DUSTY GO GET THE BULLPEN

fuck you patterson. go strike out some more. asshole.

and now he strikes out again to lead off the bottom of the 8th :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

and he continues to get booed :lol :lol

Dempster has found his calling in the closers role. He is virtually automatic. When the Cubs go into the final inning with the lead and Demp coming in I expect them to win now!

Wood is back tommorrow! You better be a man like Prior and step it up!

Damn, Halladay pitched 9 innings and gave up 1 run and still didn't get the win! Damn our pathetic offense. Ok, I can't complain that much, since we did win! I just wanted to see him get another win to pad his amazing stats.

Who is going to close for the Red Sox now that Foulke is looking like a sack of shit again? :lol If the Sox had an arm in the bullpen who was even mostly dependable this year I bet Foulke would have been gassed as the closer already.
"And with the Sox up by 2 going into the ninth inning, Danys Báez starts to get loose in the pen."l

Foulke should NOT be closing games this year. This is why Francona gets on my nerves. He plays stiffs like Millar all the time too, when an all star John Olerud rides the pine.
