Cubs are back to only 4.5 out of the wild card.

Two 8 game losing streaks and one seven game losing streak this year...still only 4.5 back. Crazy.

This shit is ridiculous. I know whats gonna happen too. The Cubs are going to make an amazing comeback, take the wild card lead, and blow it in the last week! :(

Jae Seo is the fucking man: 5-1, 1.09 ERA, 0.72 WHIP

What do you think, should they go with a 6 man rotation now that Traschel is back with Seo being #6 in there,or do they go to a 5 man set by moving Zambrano to the bullpen?

I'd rather go with the later myself.

Kuroyume said:
I prefer the latter too... I'm not too nuts about Zambrano if you know what I mean...
Yea, I say get Zambrano the hell out of the rotation. The guy has some decent starts sometimes, but even then, he still walks 5 guys. I'm not crazy about Ishii either.

I didn't even realize that the Twins were back in the hunt. The race is really tight right now.

Oakland 67 53 -- 42
NY Yankees 66 54 1.0 42
Cleveland 66 56 2.0 40
Minnesota 65 57 3.0 40
Toronto 63 58 4.5 41
Baltimore 60 61 7.5 41

I just want to start a rumor that the first guy to introduce steroids into baseball was:

Yes .. Steve "Bye-Bye" Balboni. That dude was RIPPED.

(I just wanted an excuse to post my childhood hero.)

:lol @ Balboni. Ahhh the memories of him and Rob Deer, both having homer power when they connected once every 100 at bats.

P.S. Anyone else glad to see Griffey Jr putting up solid numbers this season?

I am. He was my favourite player when I was young. Just like Grant Hill, he could've been one of the all-time greats if not for injuries.

It's tough to say for sure but I sort of think that had Griffey stayed a Mariner for his whole career, he probably would have been far more healthier. Going to the Reds seemed so weird at the time and feels even weirder today seeing him play there. I also feel he was one of the few premier players that never even dabbled with steroids.

Who'd a thunk the best Yankee starter would turn out being... Shawn Chacon.

For real. Dude is just wily on the mound; it never looks like he gets rattled. I think he's just happy to finally:

- be able to throw pitches that break because the air isn't horribly thin
- be able to pitch for a team that can actually win games. :P

I am readying the broom for tomorrow. :lol

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Kalen is most definitely spelled with a "K."

Kalen Pimentel tied a Little League World Series record for a regulation, six-inning game with 18 strikeouts to lead Rancho Bueno Vista of Vista, Calif., to a 7-2 victory over Owensboro (Ky.) Southern in the Little League World Series on Saturday.

"It took me a couple of innings to get adjusted and I started to get in a groove about the fourth inning," Pimentel said. "My fastball and curve were really working well."

The feat was last accomplished in 1979 by Chao-An Chen of the Pu-Tzu Town team from Taiwan.

Pimentel's pitching highlighted the busiest day Saturday of the 10-day tournament -- six games in two stadiums all scheduled to start within a nine-hour span.

I watched the replay of this, and holy crap. Crazy stuff.

He did give up a reeeeally long HR, though. :P

Yes Bitches. Back From My Ban, and my phillies are sitting pretty in 1st. The NL is not up for grabs anymore, we got it on lock.

Wtf is with the Jays sudden mediocrity against Detroit? I shouldn't jump too quick, they could have easily won last night. Argh.. they could be 3 back for the wildcard right now..

Probably, the Jays have had some excellent series against the top AL teams, but against the medicore/bad ones we struggle. :(
