Mifune-yeah deep down I hope this isn't just a case of wild adrenaline giving him these awesome at bats. He reminds me of Wright,in that he's confident and knows what to look for when he is up there to bat,his swing looks sweet.

Its been so dam special to see this team bring up young talent and actually stick with them, to see them grow. Look at the way Heilman has grown,Seo went down to AAA and finally learned a couple of new pitches to aid in throwing off hitters and its instantly payed off with a 4-0 record since being called back up. Look at Reyes when he can stay healthy-13 triples,45 stolen bases.

They finally make the call for Jacobs and he is so far doing what we hoped he could do,I mean damn its truely fun watching them play ball again. I realize I'm onlysaying what we mets fans already knew could happen,but its good to see it all happening at the right time. Honestly though-I really don't care if they miss the wld card. They have a group of players that if they keep intact will become even better so we'll get to post season eventually. Its the fact that this team is having fun,and its truely special to see them play fun baseball again. Next year is hopefully going to be even better. I can't wait to see what their pitchers can do.

The only "bust" has been the Alomar trade, but considering how badly Robbie performed in NY, it makes the pill a little easier to swallow. Matt Lawton actually had a decent stint in Cleveland, to almost salvage that trade.


But the real key were those three trades I put in bold. Our team wouldn't be in the hunt without Sizemore, Lee, Crisp and Hafner. The value we got in return for those trades is good enough to vault Shapiro into the upper tier of GM's in the MLB, IMO. Getting rid of Charlie Manual (ugh) and hiring an unknown Eric Wedge was also a great move. He really fits this young team well.
