Either way, yeah, it's a definite shame it won't receive that deserved recognition.

What period of time is considered? Graduation came out in September; is December counted? If so it's a shame The Big Doe Rehab isn't nominated for rap aoty

Kastro said:Graduation is a respectable choice.. it could be a lot worse. Imagine if they had Soulja Boy for best rap album.
I love Ghost but Big Doe Rehab is just good, not great. It's more Pretty Toney Album than Fishscale, Supreme Clientelle or Ironman.
Broken Social Scene > Open Season > Let it Die > The Reminder.mamacint said:Is The Reminder that much bigger than Let it Die?
I guess in my head The Reminder is a typical sophmore effort after a particularly exceptional debut...great in all ways but just doesn't quite match up.
In no way hating on The Reminder though, amazing album and easily one of my top 5 of the year, I just don't get how these things work sometimes. Maybe my perspective just doesn't seem to me lining up with general reality in this case.
Open Season isn't better than Let it Diegiga said:Broken Social Scene > Open Season > Let it Die > The Reminder.
All are great though.

Evanescence - hardrock? They serious?
Greenday/Nickelback - rock?
They should all be in the pop section. Just because they play instruments doesn't mean they're rock.
The only section they got right was the rock instrumental.
I dunno, I think at this point the Grammies themselves are nothing but an elaborate trollFF_VIII said:I don't mean to troll, but the rock/hard rock list is completely fucked up.

Evanescence is harder than nickleback, thus they fall under hardrock.
Metal is just the grammys way of saying "even harder rock".
I like a "heavy" scale more than a genre scale.
And yeah, WTF is linkin park.
