2012 NBA Playoffs |OT2| OKC VS LA: Black on Black Crime

Yeah, Lakers fans grateful for avoiding a sweep? Where's the pride?

It's one thing to allow naivete to cloud your judgment, but it's another thing entirely to maintain a modicum of hope or faith in your favorite team. The resigned cynicism from the Lakers fans on this board is pathetic. Root for your team instead of continually belaboring your capitulation. In other words, grow some balls.

Lakers in 6 still.

True but 2 of the foul calls on Harden when OKC was in the penalty were ridiculous. Kobe got 4 fts for being touched! Make up calls or not, they looked bad and that's what we complain about when other stars get those calls on us
I don't really see what all the fuss is about. This is a RARE night for Kobe. He doesn't get calls like these on a consistent basis.. not even close. Not. Even. Close.

Guys like Wade and LeBron have made careers off of nights like these though. They would both be soooo much worse if they didn't get the calls they do. And they know it too. That's why they flop and barrel roll through the lanes with no intentions of scoring all the god damn time. They fucking know it.

I've seen plenty of games where Kobe couldn't buy a call and still managed to get his just fine though. So when I see nights like these I can't help but sit back and smile. I wont be seeing Kobe get calls like these again for quite a while. That's for damn sure.

Naw, I'd rather live in the realistic world where real things/outcomes happen.

No one in the media has the balls to say this.

Heh, I often wonder if I'm the only one that notices this.

Even my sixers fan friend is calling this the worst officiated game he's seen since wades phantom fts in the heat title year.

This was fuxking shameful, harden had five fouls four of which were not fouls three of which weren't even close.

Sefalosha has had ton of ba calls versus him as well.

Was rooting for lakers win just for a longer series since its been the only fun one to watch in the west but god damn.

Crawford/stern and co should legitimately be investigated for criminal charges.

it really is hilarious seeing so many people get up in arms over the FThunder not coming out on top in FT disparity and soft foul calls for once.

Only teams that flop and rely on jumpers should have consistent FT disparities! It's only fair!

This shit is like when Doc Rivers was complaining about illegal screens a few years ago. I mean seriously, just get the fuck out of my face with that.

Aka not a lakers or thunder fan.

The Harden calls we're shameful, but so were half the Kobe calls. Dude got 3 or 4 foul calls for the most ticky tack nonsense. Lakers essentially got 10 more FT's (last 4 were purpose fouls) - that's hardly a rigged game at home, with 2 seven footers, and no uncontested transition buckets.

Besides, a 10+ FT disparity is what the FThunder have every game, stop whining

Should've watched Game 1 of the Pacers/Heat series. That was an abortion of officiating. In 5 seconds Wade fouled a Three Point Shot, traveled then karate kicked an offender and he got free throws for it. All game long the pacers got called for ticky tack fouls and fouls that were less than what harden got called for.

I don't really bet but I look at NBA odds every day. Today is the first day all year that Miami hasn't been favored to win the title. Spurs and OKC have passed them..

Metta can bother Durant one on one but he gets so lost on those (illegal) screens. I almost think it's better to back the hell off and let him shoot cos he is WRECKING us off the dribble

Another thing. Thunder are not closing out on any Lakers shooters except Kobe and maybe Blake. Yet Mike Brown has a 38% 3pt shooter on his bench he refuses to use. This is insane to me. Why not put Goudelock in the game when OKC has their 2nd unit in and just have him guard Fisher?

Matt Barnes is horrible right now and his line tonight it probably the worst ever for a guy who played just 10 minutes. He might as well have thrown the ball out of bounds and punched a teammate in the face every time we had possession. That's how shitty he was..

I really hate coaches who refuse to make adjustments

And if Glock is in for Barnes, who guards Harden or Durant? Barnes played Harden in the 1st half, Durant in the 4th.

Glock cannot play because he is TOO SHORT and sucks on D and cannot run the offense. How many times must I repeat this? If he guards Fisher, then Blake guards Harden. Which is a fail every time so far. If he replaces Blake, then our offense will be even worse since no one can dribble.

Give it up. Glock is a backup 2 in a series where their backup 2 is too big for him. Glock cannot and SHOULD NOT play.

Anyway....yay! Hard fought. If only they didn't choke away game 2. sigh.

As far as the reffing goes, it was bad both ways. Holy shit, they wouldn't let the perimeter players play at all. Refs need to calm the fuck down with that. Ruined the entire flow of the game. And OKC got calls they didn't deserve, too. Went both ways and officials should be ashamed for ruining the game that way.

On the plus side, with so many FTs, the game was really slow which benefits Lakers for tonight's game.

Pau only 8 shots. Did not like that. Barnes is still trash, but good to see Ramon came to play, finally. Durant is amazing.

Cannot believe they shot 41/42 FT or whatever it was. Insane.

IMO, Scott Brooks lost the game in the 4th when he played Fisher too long and had him defend Kobe (lolololol). 9 min mark of the 4th and Westbrook is on the bench after a 5 minute rest and TWO timeouts? WTF is Brooks thinking? Westbrook is way too young to sit that long in the playoffs.

hell, Brooks could have played Sefalosha and use Harden at the PG. Anything was better than Fisher on Kobe. And why Durant doesn't guard Kobe the entire 4th if Thabo is out is also confusing. I can't even remember the last time Kobe scored on Durant...

Brown almost gave it back with that 1 minute of barnes in the 4th. Hey Brown, Ron plays Durant's minutes exactly. Howabout you start the 4th with Barnes and not Ron until Durant returns. Dumbfuck.

edit: I'm wondering if it's time to bench Barnes for Ebanks. Ebanks hasn't given much, but I don't think he can give less than Barnes. Dude is just killing the Lakers. All he does is foul. Used to at least be good for rebounds and slashes, but he's giving the team absolutely nothing right now outside his ability to defend people over 6'4. Ebanks can do that too...

“I don’t give a [expletive] what you say,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports late Friday. “If I go out there and miss game winners, and people say, 'Kobe choked, or Kobe is seven for whatever in pressure situations.' Well, [expletive] you.

“Because I don’t play for your [expletive] approval. I play for my own love and enjoyment of the game. And to win. That’s what I play for. Most of the time, when guys feel the pressure, they’re worried about what people might say about them. I don’t have that fear, and it enables me to forget bad plays and to take shots and play my game."

hah.

“And maybe that’s what separates me from a lot of people: I can laugh at myself in those situations, whereas most people might feel really insecure or nervous about the next one, or pissed off and hold that anger for the next game. I can find the entertainment and humor in it.”

“The fallout is always something that makes some guys hesitant,” Bryant said. “They’re thinking about their legacies, their reputations.”

Shots fired.

Finished D3, 17 hours 41 minutes, Wizard level 31. Dunnow if I'll play nightmare straight away, do a new character on a US server, or play FF13-2. The wait for the Pacers win tomorrow is too long.

Wade is fair game at times but LeBron is untouchable.

The headlines from last game were "Wade struggles as Pacers win" or something close.

They conveniently left out that LeBron did next to nothing in the second half.

Right because ever since last season the media has been easy and soft on Lebron. In fact ESPN never leads any Miami loss headline with a psycho analysis about Lebron.

Kobe got some really favorable calls go his way but all of a sudden that is rare for him? Yes because the Lakers never get any calls in favor of them. Nope never.

And Lebron and Wade can only score because they just barrel roll through the lanes?

Lakers fans are funny. Yes Lebron won the MVP, put up the #s he did, and played as well as he did all season because all he does is just get favorable calls and rolls through the lanes! Brilliant! Didn't Kobe used to do the same thing when he could (when he was younger)? Does't every superstar get the benefit of those calls? You couldn't breathe around Jordan. As a Sixers fan I remember AI getting away so many phantom calls.

The refs in the NBA need to stop the practice but at this point I doubt it can be done.
