2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

I played through the game on the 360 and picked up the PC version just to take shots. The art in the game is just so good!

I bet you enjoy the improved framerate as well. I've heard that the framerate (on console) in Dark Souls goes down to 10 fps in Blighttown. Mine dropped to 25 or so a bit in there (on PC).. with downsampling and AO though.

a couple of shots of the gear I used in Blighttown. Looks so awesome; too bad it's not practical in most places.

Edit: Also solved the stuttering issue I was having in Gunslinger. Turns out vsync was the culprit and turning that off made everything buttery smooth.

If it was the VSync in-game, try turning it off and forcing VSync with an FPS cap of 60 or 59 through your video card drivers. I've found that this sometimes helps reduce stutter in some games if the frame rate isn't a steady 60.

What is the deal with Silas's eyes? I avoid taking screenshots of them as they weird me out. Is it just that the character model was not meant to be seen from the front?
Or is it similar to The Book of Eli?

They are a little weird, and not seeing him from the front is perfectly reasonable considering we can only do it with a free camera.

This is the only one I took featuring his eyes. I can see why.

heh the funny thing is im playing at such high settings I'm only getting 5-15 fps. I have tried it at 60 fps though and it feels amazing!

Awesome gunslinger shots guys!

It's really weird though. Every other aspect of the character we never actually see is detailed...except that the eyes are "off". I'm wondering if there was a specific reason for this or just that someone forgot to add a texture?

Really had fun with this game. Both playing it and taking screenshots. Here are some pictures of props I found lying about the place.

Windthrasher 1000

Not sure why, but speckled throughout the grey drab locations are these colored planks of wood. Actually reminded me a bit of Mirror's Edge.

I tried forcing AO again and like how it looks on some objects (above), but sometimes it's just way too much...like with some characters (below). Is there anyway to inject subtle AO?

I'm only a couple hours in and am having quite a bit of fun with my sarcastic Fem Hawke Rogue. Repetition hasn't set in quite yet, lol. Game runs like garbage on my 670 though. GPU usage is whack(Hovers around 60-70%), anyone know a fix for that?

Generally in such cases - get faster CPU.

980x at 4.0ghz ain't enough for Dragon Age 2? I think the game is just poorly optimized for my GPU, performance doesn't seem to have much consistency. I can't even get a solid 60fps at 1080p with no AA because of the gimped GPU usage. Doesn't seem like a CPU bottleneck, meh . . .

Edit: Checked some benchmarks, my performance just seems to lag behind similar configurations. If my GPU usage was higher (90-99%) I think I'd be on-par with said benchmarks lol.

Tis early in the game of course, but I'm enjoying Dragon Age 2. Nightmare Difficulty is quite challenging, cheap with the wave bullshit, but challenging. I'm really enjoying Dragon Age 2 on this char, not sure how I feel about that . . .

The game is so brainless and linear as far as progression goes. Perfect game to play under the influence.

Can I respectfully request that no more Dragon Age 2 shots are posted?

Not because the shots were bad, but because I don't want to be reminded that that festering dog fart of a game exists.

Edit: Some shots for the new page.

I'm astounded by the quality of the textures on Queelag.

One3rd, are you using SweetFX or similar for the Gunslinger shots? Maybe my memory is just off, but I feel like your shots have something tweaked, since the skin tones in your pictures look orange on my monitor.

I'm using SweetFX for SMAA only. Some of the shots I'm adding minimal saturation and/or contrast though. Some of the shots with the Indians especially are a little too orange by default, these ones I haven't changed at all. Like this one.

You're right, I just went back and played some, and I didn't remember how orange that level was.
