Would it be out of the question to create yet another thread for screenshots, but just general screenshots no matter the quality? This thread seems to be pretty picky about content, visual clarity, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but a lot of times I take screens of things I find funny, I've got the HUD on, there's aliasing, what have you and it doesn't feel like this is the place to post that stuff.

I'm still a young one on GAF and a thread like this would bring the game "screens" thread count up to 4, I believe (this one, bullshots, .gifs, and my proposed idea).

I wouldn't have any problem with you posting that. I think that now that there is a dedicated thread for visual finesse, this one may be better suited to everything that is excluded from that. There will be people who will single aliasing out, but I think that this thread is more than suitable to allow some room for imperfection. If we keep making sub-threads for each category, there will be like three people in each.

Agreed. The rules in the OP of this thread say nothing saying your graphics quality or HUD or anything like that. Now, hopefully if you're going to post a screenshot in here so that others can see it it won't be a terrible mess, but there isn't anything stopping you.
 
Especially if it's posted with something specific in mind.. "Hey, I thought this was funny..", etc.

Those BL2 shots are great. The downsampling really helps with the outlines.. they're still there, so the art style is preserved, but not as in-your-face as vanilla native res. Well done.

Yeah, basically if you have a screenshot that you believe other people will find enjoyable for whatever reason, it's good to post it in this thread (as long as it's not a low quality .jpg) :P
 
Finally got around to seeing Skyrim though to the end, and got the chance to do the last handful of hours on a new PC build. Such a different.

Single HD 6950 - 1080p 8a AA, 16x AF, Ultra + HD texture pack, Pure Waters, Real skin, Enhanced Blood, Improved Interior Lighting, Enhanced LightandFX, Realistic Lighting Overhaul, Skyrim Flora, Static Mesh Improvement, Remove Interior Fog, Superb ENB

Yeah, but there is a problem. That thread has a posting limit... and strict rules that keep me from posting half of my screenshots (no SweetFX). So if I used SweetFX for Crysis 3, but I also took "bullshots" of that game, I couldn't post them anywhere ;)

People can be picky here, but I was under the impression that there are no rules regarding quality. Wouldn't hurt if people made their criticism more constructive. Like "Hey, that looks good, but if you have performance to spare for anti-aliasing, it could be even better" rather than "omg jaggies get out!"

Exactly. Downsampling is a Godsend in Borderlands. The outlines at their default thickness just swallow up all the art. When they're thinner, the game looks so much cleaner. But some people disable them in the config, and I think that ruins the game's look completely. BL2 also runs great, so it's not unreasonable for most people to achieve downsampling :)

Here are a few more... just showcasing the physics. I wish I had a video of this scene. I was "invisible" so this shaman was just fighting a giant spore thing in the air. It was like a fantastic show of light and physics :)

The cinematic mod is so well done i can't believe is free. Plus it lets the user adjust most of the settings. What's not to like?

I would say some parts of it are well done, but not all of it. Also, most people hate the whole hollywood blockbuster movie vibe CM gives off. Also, it's only a modification of Half-Life, so he couldn't legally make money off of it even if he tried, although I do believe he might take donations, FAKEFACTORY, that is.

If I had bought that game, I'd never want to reinstall it again, texture update or not.
 
I don't know if its just me but this is one of the most awful racing games I have played in a while. The cars handle like fucking ferries. As if the damage wasn't already done I heard the most awful bastardisation of one of my favourite The Who songs come on as I smash into a wall.

I don't like this game.

Haha yeah, I got the game for free because of Simcity and the cars do drive like boats. It is looking good tho... oh and the engine sounds! /drool.
