2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Thanks, and....what fix?

Also, nice shots, but be sure to only post 6 shots 2 per post and 3 max consecutive posts.

I was referring to Durante's Dark Souls fix. But now that I checked it, the resolution related setting I remembered was the Depth of Field, not AO (which only has strength as a setting). But still, it is interesting to see that AO decreases with resolution. But somehow I think that has to do more to AA and the Downsampling GPU nature treatmen algorithm than the AO algorithm itself.

Also, I though the 6 shots, 3 max consecutive was only for the bullshot thread but ok, I will avail to that rule from now on. Thanks dude!

Instantly wallpaper'd.

Those BF3 shots are making me hard. One of the things I'm most interested to see in Battlefield 4 is, if they choose to go with the Marine Corps again, how the gear/uniforms will change from 3. BF3 is very similar to what I wore on my second deployment in Iraq/2008, and I'm sure that BF4 will be using whatever the most modern shit they're using now is. And I'm interested to see what that is, if it has the same authenticity.

For example, the Marines in the shots above are wearing the Marpat sleeved t-shirts that were received in between my first and second deployments. In 2007 we had to wear regular Camo Blouse tops, but in 2008 we had those nice "fake" blouses that had the real sleeves. It allowed for better airflow when it was 120 degrees outside and you had all that gear on.

One day i want to play Crysis 3 but i don't think my 660 would be up for the job to do it justice.

Those look swell.
Also, it doesn't take a brand spanking new graphics card to take a good screenshot. It's not all resolution. In fact, only a smidgen is resolution, if you ask me. I've seen people with only moderately good graphics card take screenshots that I would have wished I'd been able to come up with.

Good hardware never hurts though. But when hardware and game engine are limiting, you really need to think on a shot, and that's usually a good thing.

Gotta say I love how the screneshots now are scaled to my monitor's width if it's above/below the forum's width. :D

So nice to scroll down and see the whole screen without having to use horizontal scroll. :)

Oh i agree altough in this case its more the "put all sliders to the right and still have great performance while things get hectic " kind of justice .

so considder me for that game Lttp till i have my 880.

The way you've set up AO, shadows and IL is a marvel to me. You've taken a totally different approach to Fallout screenshots (which is a good thing), and if I see too many of them, I'll start coming back to some of my earlier esthetic decisions. The clarity of your shots is almost diametrically opposed to my bloomy murk.

...Sven?

The time of day is locked on this map. I figured as much. Changing it does nothing. I thought it would be kinda funny to see this map in daytime but it's not possible.

I wonder how well the gameplay of F.E.A.R. holds up? I haven't played it since 2005, but in my memories it's one of the best first-person shooters. I wonder how it stands up after an entire generation dominated by shooters.

Shame about 3 murdering the franchise.

Well, because i didn't played it when it first launched(was mostly a console player :P), so no nostalgia goggles here, i think i can safely say it holds up. you can feel it's sorta dated, but when you remember that it was 2005, and the A.I is still amazing, even by today standards, it beats a bunch of modern games to a curb.

Those grenades were pretty good. Always ended up with red sauce everywhere! I played this when it came out and it was the scariest game I had played up until that point..didn't help that I played it in the dark late at night with a pet bird on my shoulder that would bite me on the neck every time there was a loud noise! Nearly pissed myself the first time that happened!
