2013 Thread of Game Gifs (prepare your bandwidth)

Tried it before, it was quite ugly and didn't have Spell Checker

When? Few years ago? Because Avant Browser, Avant Browser 2010 and Avant Browser 2012/2013 are like different worlds :)

My 2012 version looks like this

For a game that got a ton of attention for its really fantastic cloth physics (the car reveal), man that cloth sure looks rigid.

I'm trying to remember that section in detail but I think that's sheet metal, not cloth.

And I'm pretty sure the car cloth scene was precomputed.

While creating this gif, I instantly missed the car sounds. So let me ask a, probably silly, tech questions; Will we ever see something like that, "gif" + sound, in the future or just technical not possible ?

It's called a video.

An image that makes sounds would be more short-lived than MIDI files and Marquee/Blink tags on personal homepages in the '90s.

 that's true, did not think that one trough. I was just coming from twitter/vine and though of something like that, but on most forums you can indeed embed videos already.

Even with video, it would be nice to have a file type for looping videos with sound that can be embedded.

isn't there that one site that allows you to upload like, 10-second clips with sound or something? Kind of like Gif's with sound.

I use an extension to embed YouTune and Vimeo videos inline in NeoGAF. Also there's a reason Vine videos are muted by default.

My 90's webpage had a MIDI file of Sweet Home Alabama playing the background. It was awesome.
Mine was either Easy by the Commodores or Maniac by Michael Sambello. Good stuff.

(60fps... worse for crap browsers)

If only games had actual scopes, instead of changing our fov. In real life, that gun would look so weird, because there's no actual lense, just a pane of glass, and no magnification.

I should pull out OLD Red Orchestra...

EDIT: I did.

Black Mesa also did this, but there's a bit of lag in it's case.

I want to not only have real scopes in FPS', but also have them work for the Oculus Rift.

:D

Some Gif's I've animated using pre existing game sprites.

This forklift dude sprite is from Burning Fight (SNK)

Yeah, I thought 15 was the cutoff. But they sure are purdy!

I thought 15 or smaller was a good guideline, but it shouldn't be a harsh cut-off. If you're going to go into significantly larger territory, it should pay off. Like I said in the OP, have a good reason if you're gonna go huge.
