2014 Fantasy Football Advice Thread

Is it time to stop acquiring everyone in sight who's facing Jacksonville? Perhaps, also I've always been a Denard Robinson fan, hopefully he emerges as a threat there, I'd love to have him on my fantasy team.

I always screw up and start too many tight ends, Delanie Walker, Jordan Cameron, and Dwayne Allen all had the potential for a big week on only Allen came through.

If it makes you feel better I have Roddy (20.50), Watkins (28.70), Odell Beckham Jr. (18.70) on the bench and started Sanu (6.9) over all 3. White was just impossible to feel good about at this point.

The guy who was 0-6 in one of the GAF leagues I'm in had the highest point total by far this week (130+) while the rest of us bombed (9 out of 12 teams under projections). Though his win definitely helped me out. Super weird week for sure.
 
Need a W this week, what are the chances I win, currently up 4 in a standard league matchup:

Currently Have DeMarco Murray and Terrance Williams playing, guy I'm facing has Dez Bryant and Andre Holmes(lulz) Peyton going for me tonight, guy I'm facing has the Houston D/ST and Antonio Brown tomorrow night.

The way it's going right now, I would've beaten every other team in the league. Sucks. 5-2 here we come. :(
 
In your main league, what has been your best draft (best value for the round) and worst?

So far my best is probably Lamar Miller - got him in the 7th round and he's been consistently giving me RB1 production. Worst so far is Garcon - got him in the 5th and up until today he has been fairly underwhelming.
 
I started Tate, Morris, and Cameron for a combined total of 8 points and still won because of the great Demaryius Thomas! Maybe saved my season.

Best: Ahmad Bradshaw, Round 12
Worst: Adrian Peterson, Round 1. Brees in round 2 a close second.

Still doing well at 5-2. A Brown in the 3rd, late M Bennet, E Sanders mid round....waivers like Hillman, Mckinnon/Asiata,

Ha...similar to me...Started Hoyer (had very few options), Tate, Hunter (should have started ODB or Colston)...looked very bad until Thomas saved the day...now have a huge lead going into Monday...
 
So my RBs are currently Frank Gore, Fred Jackson, Ronnie Hillman, and Montee Ball...

Trying to get the obvious waiver pickups this week, Tre Mason, etc. Should I drop Montee Ball at this point? Or should I stash him just in case he actually does return to the starting position? Also, reports are that Jackson is going to be out a few weeks but will play again this season which is why I'm probably going to stash him, since it's a PPR league.
 
I started Demaryius Thomas, Golden Tate III, and Torrey Smith this week. Antonio Brown plays Monday and my bench WR Allen Robinson finally broke out.

I pretty much feel like this right now.

Best: Round 6, (75) Golden Tate (Det - WR)
Worst: Round 5, (66) Robert Griffin III (Was - QB)

Ironically I might pick up RGIII again this week.

I'd drop Ball, he hasn't done jack and I don't see him getting his job back.
 
At Week 7 I say worst early round pick is the obvious one..

WORST=Adrian Peterson..He's not just playing bad like other picks people complain about, he played one week and was done for the season..And the game he played wasn't anything special...OUCH..

BEST=DeMarco Murray. Guy is on a historic pace and was a late first, early second round guy. Maybe even later than that in some drafts.

But outside of these major ones..Maybe value wise I'd my best pickup in any league I'm in was Ahmad Bradshaw. I can't say I saw this happening this way with Richardson, as I thought Bradshaw would just start completely, but his production wouldn't actually be what it is..So he's been pleasantly surprising..Got him Round 13 in a 12 team league.

My worst pick...Patterson..Maybe it's too early but there was so much hype about this guy and he's worse than Percy Harvin is for fantasy value this year, and that's just bad.
 
This is the worst fantasy football game I have ever played in my 8 years of playing FF. Projected to score 96 points, score 32. WTF.

Ouch. That's rough.

I haven't done quite that badly, but my money team has fallen well short of projections four weeks in a row. If it weren't for the miracle comeback Kaepernick got me on Monday night last week I would have gone 0-4.
 
Trade offer I don't think I can turn down in my 12-team .5 PPR. What do you think GAF?

I give up TY Hilton and Joseph Randle, I get his Vincent Jackson and Jerrick McKinnon

My other WRs are Green, Bryant, White, Adams, and LaFell

My other RBs are Lacy, Bradshaw, Vereen, and Starks.

We start 3WR and a Flex, so this would replace Hilton with Jackson and Vereen would be replaced by McKinnon. Once Green comes back I'd obviously be starting him. So my team composition seems relevant. I'm not sure if another RB is worth the drop at WR. Thoughts GAF?

I agree he's valuable, but I'm not sure if he's that much more valuable than Jackson if I essentially get McKinnon who just put up 100 yards against the no. 1 run defense in the league on top, for a handcuff player.

I guess that's why I'm asking though!

Those chances better not be high because I'd lose also. Up by about 30 with the guy I'm facing going with the Texans D and Antonio Brown.
 
Should I trade Steve Smith for Gronk? Im trying not to be a Pats homer as Gronk has better upside ROS I think but also always seems to get injured. I have Jimmy but who knows when his shoulder will be better and I can flex a TE in my league.
 
Seriously considering dropping Jordan Cameron. Couldn't get anyone good for 'em, and I have Dwayne Allen and Delanie Walker on my team as well.
 
Having an issue with Yahoo Fantasy lately.

See the image below? The little yellow boxes used to link to player notes (like the boxes still do on this page http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/playernotes), but lately they link to player news pages (ex: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/25785/news/).

This is pretty irritating since the player notes pages have a lot of good information in a easy to use fashion so you can quickly go down your roster. Is there a setting to change the boxes back to being player notes? I have no idea why it changed a week or two ago.

That was happening to me yesterday. It went back to normal today for some reason.

It's Adblock.

Reddit fix.

The above fix only worked for a day or so for me, so I just whitelisted Yahoo FF. The ads aren't too bad.

Ertz. Reed is the better guy until proven otherwise.

Though depending on my record and the type of league I might just leave a spot empty during bye week. I won't drop a valuable player if I'm already 6-1.
 
I'm really struggling to find a solid TE at the moment and am looking for trades for one, only had one interested party so far and he offered me Martellus Bennett for Doug Martin and Andre Johnson.

My current roster is:
Rodgers
Bradshaw
Ellington
Bryant
Antonio Brown
Jordan Cameron
Shady McCoy
Catanzaro
Seahawks D

Bench:
Cutler
Asiata
Doug Martin
Andre Johnson
Megatron
Welker

Should I do that trade or wait for better offers for a stud TE.

I think that's too much too give up for Bennett. Cutler is too streaky, and I still have some outside faith that Martin will be able to put up RB2 numbers and Johnson is a solid WR2, and Bennett is not a top tier TE...BUT...If you wanted to do straight up one of those players for Bennett, then it'd probably be cool.

You have some decent assets, so I'd look for a TE you want...Maybe a guy like Gronk after he had a down week and he always has that injury fear associated with him.
