I hate group G with a passion. I was hoping to get through at least one World Cup where the US and Ghana weren't eliminating each other. This year is even worse because either team will practically be eliminated after the first game of group play.
But IMO, one of the main reasons we're seeing such high scoring in this WC is because some teams are properly prepared for the heat and humidity while others aren't. It seems every game at least one team is dragging their heels in the final 15-20 minutes from exhaustion.
So I'm hoping Ghana and the US (especially after Klinsman's boot camp) are more acclimated to the weather conditions than Germany and Portugal. And just maybe they can squeeze out a tie or upset from those two teams. As someone else already mentioned, Germany is due for an embarrassing first round exit. After all, Germany has never been in the "Group of Death" in the modern era. So with them being in South America and in the Group of Death if they were ever going to struggle to advance out of the first round, now would be the time.

Not sure I would agree that Germany hasn't been in a "Group of Death" recently. 2012 during the European Championship they were in a Group with Portugal, the Netherlands and Denmark. A group probably harder than this years.

And somehow they get under the skin of every Dutch player. That might be a quality of Portugual, but it kinda annoys me. And they tend to fall/dive easily. Sorry if I sound like a dick Wouldn't mind it!
Yet they had "European" climate conditions. And we had a clusterfuck of a defence which broke us the neck against Italy. You could see it against Greece, that we were incredibly vulnerable. If we manage to hold the 0, we might have a chance. Spain showed it 2010 where they only conceded one goal...
