wait USA is disapointed? whut? O_o

do you guys know how football works? you are basically through the group stage. Portugal needs a miracle to get through, and you won against Ghana so you have advantage there even if you lose and ghana wins

Nope FIFAs tie breaker rules are horrible. They only care about goal differential and points. If Ghana wins and gets a better goal differential we are out.

Soft as 2-ply.

That wasn't his only soft play of the day. He's just a pedestrian player.

And he managed to strike that almost wide open chance directly at the only defender in the area. A little bit of bad luck there, but still.. come on man..

No, if the we lose by 2 and Ghana wins by anything we are done. Same goes for if Ghana wins by 2 and we lose by 1.

do you give a shit about soccer? Name one dude from our bench who can run the game like him.

Hint, you can't

US moving on and being relevant in the world cup would do far more for soccer than a Toronto team in the MLS. If the U.S. got to the point where they could actually compete for the world cup it would do wonders for soccer in the U.S.

Edit: Are you honestly trying to say that there is no one on the U.S bench that can't play better than Bradley's playing right now?

Wait, you mean BRADLEY should have scored that other clear chance he had and we would have daggered Portugal?

...

what? lol, no

I'm talking about at some point between our second goal and the end of the game. Seemed to me like we just got too complacent rather than trying to secure the win

I keep hearing how lucky the US has been and how it's gonna run out, just you watch. Ghana/Portugal/Germany is going to embarrass them! You just wait and see!

Nani needs to retire from football. The cry baby needed only one cross to keep Portugal alive and Nani had 20 crosses all shit.

Germany Ghana to go through.

Interesting, Germany getting a lot of shit from German Media right now cant see them to go for a draw.
Anyway should probably stay away from this thread on thursday, lots of bad ww2 jokes coming.

can't stop laughing

fucking bradley man

I can't stop crying. Soooo close. That was a lovely cross from Portugal, though.

basically the only way the USA doesnt go through is if Portugal wins by 5 goal difference and/or USA loses by like 5 goals... and neither is going to happen looking at how both teams have been playing so far (USA stronger than expected, Portugal a fucking embarassment)

USA doing nicely, you should be happy / proud

All I feel is fear. My heart...!

Stop trying to make me feel better... damn you!

We are surely doomed with a 2-2 loss like that.

what the fuck, the first tie breaker isnt the result between the teams? lol wtf FIFA?

Im sorry then, I assumed it was, my bad

no my question was relating to how often you watch the US play.

Okay, real talk time. ;)

The US are actually in a really precarious situation. Germany won't hold back. Just look at Euro 2012. They showed no mercy against Denmark. Also, they can't risk the USA winning it. I'm sure Germany wants to avoid a potentially dangerous Belgium. Honestly, all USA can do is try to hold it to 1-0.

After seeing how pitiful and injured Portugal is, I'm sure Ghana can beat them. As soon as Ghana scores one goal Portugal won't have a chance in hell to go through. They'll give up, which could mean more goals for Ghana.

I expect Germany and Ghana to go through to the next round. I can obviously be 100% wrong, as this is the World Cup of surprises.

To those who own a soccer jersey, do you guys buy them with names of your favorite player on the team, or ones with no names? I feel like I prefer ones without them for some reason, which sounds strange to me.

I got #10 on the 2010 Jersey. No name. Getting #14 this year. Again no name. I guess it'll be a thing from now on.

What a shame, Löw should get the shit from the media for his lineup.

Fuck him, he can share his boogers with Klinsmann and go for a draw.

Your maths is a bit wrong there, not "and/or". I don't think Portugal will go through, but for example, USA can lose by two goals, Portugal can win by three goals, etc anything that makes up the difference. Not 5 for and 5 against.
