So wasn't able to watch any of the games can someone give me an idea how things playing out? Who deserved to win? Did Argentina play like goats? Bullshit calls? Shitty Refs? That sort of thing, thanks.

Argentina were truly horrible and Iran had quite a few good chances in the second half... Some will say they deserved a penalty at one point, but eh, could go both ways. Then in the last minute Messi does something out of nothing and gets the win.

Bosnia match Dzeko scored a goal in the first half which was ruled out for offside... Which was wrong. Then Nigeria scored and Bosnia couldn't do anything.

Germany - Ghana was great all around, both teams lots of chances. Fair result in the end, but could easily have gone to either team.

Bullshit. Terry is a lion heart and one of the very best defenders to every walk the earth.

But that is what these discussions will always boil down to. "X is not as good as Y was". and then someone will post some name everyone else are too young to even remember watching.

Hey Hey Hey. Terry is world class, dude is a boss defender. Even Ronaldihno said Terry is one of the toughest defenders ever.

Arguing over whether a defender is great, very great or super duper great is dumb anyway when you remember one sobering fact:

Roque Junior, the worst defender to ever play the game, a man who would make Igor Stepanovs and William Prunier look like Baresi and Beckenbauer, has both a Champions League and a World Cup winners medal.

Ghana - Germany was great. I would have preferred Germany to win but overall it was good

I did wonder where the hell was this Ghana during the USA/Ghana game.

USA will focus too much on ronaldo that nani and co will have a ton of opportunity to do damage. As for an attacking force, usa will have none, maybe get a header saved in the first and second half.

So? He's still crap he only had a great team that outweighed his deficiencies. The point still stands, Terry is great, the rest of the English team eh.....not so much.

Portugal 2-USA 1

:(

Sorry team. If Portugal actually tries we're doomed.

Well USA beat portugal 3-2 in the 2002 world cup. I'm sure they can stand a chance 12 years later

Isn't Portugal's defense in tatters and Ronaldo is gimped?

In yet another injury scare for the Portuguese national team, starting central defender Bruno Alves missed training on Friday with a thigh issue.

Portugal is decimated by injuries and suspensions going into the pivotal Group G game against the United States on Sunday.

Three players who started in the 4-0 loss to Germany are definitely out, and three others are carrying injuries. The full list:

Pepe will miss the game due to suspension. He got a red card after losing his mind and head-butting Germany's Thomas Muller in Portugal's 4-0 loss.
Fabio Coentrao is out of the World Cup with a groin injury he picked up in the second half against Germany.
Hugo Almeida will miss the U.S. game after going down with a thigh injury against Germany.
Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly left training early this week to get treatment on the patellar tendinitis in his knee. While he's expected to play, news broke that his personal doctor advised him against playing in the World Cup. He won't be 100%.
Rui Patricio, the Portuguese goalie, suffered a thigh injury against Germany. He could miss the U.S. game.
Bruno Alves missed training Friday. There's no official word on his status.
That's three of four first-choice defenders (including both central defenders), the goalie, the center forward, and the best player all in question for Sunday's game.

nothing to do but hope. we have injuries too.

I think people may be overrating Portugal still. As a team they don't seem impressive. They have better individuals though, but how far that will get them remains to be seen.

The only way I see Portugal winning is if Ronaldo goes off by himself. (Like making his free kicks).

I actually wish Pepe was playing against us though. I think he'd be a liability.

I think USA biggest issue will be all the pushing and shoving, its ridiculous they only got 10 fouls last game purely as the ghanian used strength to stay on there feet, instead of flopping.

Ronaldo will love all those set pieces

Even with the injuries, player for player I think Portugal has considerably more talent. Plus, they have the best player in the match by a factor of 10. That said, they're not a great team by any stretch and can be beaten or tied if the USA comes to play. Right now I'd predict a 1-1 tie but it should be fun.

We played fairly against Ghana. We had no one going in for wild, boots-up tackles like Muntari.

People, including myself I'll admit, read too much into one game. I thought after their first performances Ghana and Uruguay were done but they came back ready and determined. I thought Italy would control Costa Rica with their passing and sexy Pirlo after what they did to England.

One game is just one game.

Rui Patricio out is bad news for USA. Patricio made two major mistakes against Germany, the 4th goal was due in part of badly clearing the ball straight into the path of Germans.

Eduardo was rock solid in 2010 conceding only 1 goal. While Beto (Valencia) won the Europa in penalties

Portugal has more raw talent but they play shit team football. If I wasn't a Ghana supporter I would want to see the US win this one handily. I see it being a close game though. 2-1 either side. Unless Ronaldo goes off, I don't see the American's getting steam rolled.

Susic the Bosnian coach lost us that game. He didn't play a left back. Instead he played 3 at the back and spahic had to cover the LB spot and was getting destroyed by Emenike. He should of just played the team that played Argentina. I really don't understand why he benched kolasinac and the subs were a joke. Oh and fuck the linseman ._.

I think Ghana can still go through if the US wins tomorrow, it just means that the US needs to beat Germany in addition to Ghana beating Portugal. Either the US or Ghana would need a big win though.

Why always us man? That linesman needs to follow the Mexico-Cameroon linesman and GTFO.
Can't believe he didnt start Kolasinac with Dzeko/Ibisevic up front. Begovic and Besic were fkn beasts though
