I really like the whole "Ronaldo scored his 15th goal in Germany, and Klose's was scored in Brazil" thing.

We're totally bi-polar when it comes to our national team. Before tournaments we hype them up to the point where we're the best in the world and we're bound to win. Afterwards, we do our team down to the point where they're the worst in the world and a national disgrace.

Fun stuff.

That's kinda ... unhealthy. I believe the aggressive media is part of the reason why the English failed at penalty kick.

Watching the USA game in downtown Orlando today. Found out wall st plaza will let in my son. Can't wait, first time being in a crowd for a game like this.

disagree there. 2006 was excellent with zidane showing everyone how its done.

the rest was meh unfortunately.

the fact that they coaxed zidane out of retirement for their struggling team in the world cup and he got them to the finals is crazy.

legend status.

also that tournament saw the end of players like ronaldo, nedved, figo and zidane internationally.

We are almost halfway through this World Cup.

I have to say that this is the best one so far after '98.

So many goals. So many chances. So many good looking women.

Yeah 2006 will always be the tournament that saw the God aka Totti play his last Italy game. Really is such a shame the world has not seen him on the biggest stage for 8 years.

truly the greatest vulture in world cup history. 15 goals and still maybe only 1 or 2 could generously be described as having had any real significance for germany's world cup campaigns, and certainly not a single goal when it truly mattered.

Nope.

Portugal are pretty much out if they draw here right?

almost, but they could still advance if they beat ghana and germany beats usa. they would have to be big wins, though, since usa would have +5 goal difference in comparison to portugal at the start of the final round.

Nope.

he's never scored a goal past the quarter-final stage. his only goal that could be considered big is the equalizer against argentina in 2006. a vulture is a vulture.

I know, right? People keep taking these photos of legitimately moviment-impaired persons as if they meant something. Rude as fuck.

There is a legitimate confusion going on surrounding disabled people in wheelchairs. There have been several occassions where people were actually arrested for acting disabled while clearly they are not.

I know that there are plenty who can still, somewhat, stand but the general confusion and picture-taking needs to stop.

Anybody seen this?

Apparently its one of the stadiums Qatar wants to build for 2022. If FIFA doesn't strip the WC from them, that is.

and just like all the other promises, it won't be close to that in the end.

Again? Do people have no respect?

It's pretty silly, was someone in my class like that college and he certainly needed his wheelchair even if he could walk for a bit and stand up.

No, if they draw today then Portugal would then be relying on Germany to beat USA (or USA to beat Germany) by many goals and/or Portugal would have to beat Ghana by many goals.

USA and Portugal would be left with 4 points each for second place, would go to goal difference.
