Solid conference...I'd give it a B. New controller looks awesome and BC is neat for a few games. Plus, Gears of War is my favorite MP shooter. Really could have used Crackdown and Quantum Dream.

the REAL test is whether or not Sony can crash GAF's servers... if Sony crashes GAF's servers meanwhile MS couldn't... oh boy! ;P

Alright conference, I'd say; first half was much better than the second one. My rating would be 6/10. Some bullet points:

+ Forza 6: The best series MS has as an exclusive.
+ Backwards Compatibility: To be quite frank, I never had an 360, so this does absolutely nothing to entice me to buy the Xbox One, but this is still a great feature to provide. Let's see how it works in practice though.
+ Elite controller: Awesome.
+ Rare's pirate MMO: Looked quite
+ Recore: Could be great! Too bad it was a CG trailer though.
+ Dark Souls 3: Awesome, but didn't build the Xbox One case.
+ Indies: Quite a good indie showing overall! Cuphead still looks fantastic.

- CG trailers: They fucking suck, end of story.
- Gears of War 4: Wow, this was a completely hype-deflating showing. I love the Gears games, but this did absolutely nothing to me.
- Halo 5: Guardians: Surprisingly flat showing of the game, the single-player segment wasn't anything to write home about. Warzone was cooler though. Weakest Halo showing so far.
- Rare Collection: Nostalgia has never been a real factor for me, and I've played most of these games way back. I'd rather just not revisit these games.
- Rise of The Tomb Raider: Looked kind of... generic (God I hate that word). Might turn out to be good though.

Does anyone think (from a marketing/sales standpoint) that backwards compatibility is too late. I don't know about the marketing potential of it 2 years after XB1 has been out.
I don't think BC has ever been that big of a marketing push. Maybe I'm wrong. Seemed like a nice surprise for Xbone owners more than anything.

Quite weak for me. Nothing appealed to me that hasn't already been announced.

I do however applaud that it wasn't stuffed full of CG trailers unlike previous years.

Loved the conference and the Gears 4/Halo 5/TR gameplay reveals. The rare collection was also nice. BC unfortunately isn't big for me anymore due to me selling my 360.

Solid conference. 8.5/10

4/10

Recore looked interesting though I was more interested before it changed from dog to robot, backwards compatibility could be great or underwhelming depending on the breadth of titles. Disappointed at so few new games announced but I think they probably wanted to really focus in on 2015 which they did well.

My friend (who is biased because he's worked on GoW remaster) is MEGA pissed off that it wasn't shown - he says it's because it looks better than Gears 4 but take that with a grain of salt :p

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh

I thought it was a very good conference. I say this as someone who only owns a PS4. If I wasn't already so embedded in Sony's platform I might actually make a switch (can't really afford to invest in both at this time).

I love the pro controller.

The same conservative content as every year from MS (including Rare trolling and still too much CGI non-gameplay). Hype for this E3 quickly deflating, shouldn't have let myself getting hyped from all the leaks and rumours.

This conference was mainly supposed to be about this holiday though. That's what they said leading up to it so I'm not sure what everyone here was expecting. Gamescom is for the stuff >1 year out such as Crackdown, Scalebound, Quantum Break and probably some others as well.

Even without those games, was it the 'Greatest line-up of games in XBox history', though or do we still have 2007?

Solid show. No huge surprises (except backwards compatibility), it reminded me a lot of their show last year, but with more actual game footage and less CGI. B- grade.

I don't think BC has ever been that big of a marketing push. Maybe I'm wrong. Seemed like a nice surprise for Xbone owners more than anything.

For Ma and Pa that are looking for a new console for little Billy (who has a pile of 360 games)

It will probably be a big deal.

I'm surprised at the lukewarm reception here. I'm not a big MS fan but there was very little time spent on non gaming related stuff. Thought it was a solid conference, their best in years. Where were Quantum Break and especially Scalebound though ? Cuphead looks guuuuuud. My main complaint has to do with the Minecraft demo as I couldn't care less about VR.

Definitely great presentation and pacing, but in terms of content there's no way this is even in the top 3 of all MS E3 pressers..

And we knew there wouldn't be QB and Scalebound dude.. They specifically told us before E3.

A good conference from MS. Loved the look of that new controller, and BC is huge.

I wasn't all that impressed by Halo 5 for Gears 4, though, to be honest. A pretty weak gameplay debut for Gears 4 especially.

Thought the conference had it's mix of cool announcements but I also felt their usually great demo showing was really poor bringing the whole show down.

Things I liked: 360 BC, fallout mods, tacoma, beyond eyes, ashen, cuphead, elite, tomb raider and the minecraft hololens demo. Oh and the rare collection, will be interested to see what the full list is.

Recore looked interesting but I'd like to see what it actually is first.

Wonder what Sony has in store.. Alot of their big games have been pushed back to 2016.

Uncharted won't really be a big deal since it's next year, Unless last guardian shows up that could be huge.

No Man's Sky could be good if they actually tell us what's it's about.

Duke Nukem Forever 2

No, Sony conference starts in 7h

Lol, oh man. E3 times is best time, let it all hang out!

It's only the 2nd show of the week and I'm already impressed. E3 delivering so far, still got several shows left. Can't wait for Sony later, letting my hype wash over me all day with the Pub shows. I'll be negative for this stuff next week, today I drink, smoke and wallow in the gaming goodness.

Very disappointed Banjo 3 was not announced. But overall MS is moving in the right direction. I think Spencer will be able to create a beast for next gen.

I'm not the target market for the Xbox line at all (we run Nintendo+PC over here), but in case any of you are curious, here's how the conference looked from the outside:

- Cuphead was the most interesting thing I saw (even if the music and silent-era intertitles are anachronistic next to the 1930s gorgeous Tex Avery animation style, as if they thought nobody could tell the difference between different eras of 'old'). Glad it's also coming to PC.

- ReCore has my attention just as Scalebound did last year, and for similar reasons: all we saw was a cinematic and the name of a big developer attached (Inafune+Pacini this year, like Kamiya last year), but I like the art and the tone, and I want to see how it plays.

- Backwards compatibility is excellent on principle (less so if it doesn't cover existing discs, just digital ports), although for the market segment that skipped the 360, I wonder how much of a draw it is when practically the only Xbox exclusives that never made it to PC were Halo and Gears, both of which are also on the X1 as remasters. I can see it working out as a big push to get current 360 owners to prefer the X1 over PS4 when they finally decide to hop to the latest generation.

- Excellent price on the Rare collection, although the N64-era Rare IPs don't mean much to me personally.

- The Minecraft HoloLens demo was an incredibly cool demo, and easily the most memorable part of the conference, but quite obviously not something that will play as interestingly as it looked in the show.

Backwards compatibility was a good announcement. But nothing really stood out.

Biggest surprise is that Halo 5 looks really, really mediocre.

...
Wouldn't that make BC more enticing if you never played 360 exclusives?

when you look at it from the outset... the lineup
Gears of War Remastered
Gears 4
Halo 5
Forza 6
Fable Legends
Recore
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Sea of Thieves
Rare Replay
Crackdown
Scalebound
Quantum Break

and that doesn't include any of the smaller first party titles like Killer Instinct (which is bound to get a 3rd season), Phantom Dust, Gigantic and all the exclusive indie titles

it's a pretty darn good lineup

I knew going in no matter what MS showed , that there were going to be people who dissed and undersold what was shown. Unfortunately, my thoughts have been confirmed

You have to admit though that the conference was pretty fucking "meh"

You didn't get that feeling of amazement, that special thrill feeling that you only get in some conferences. I mean shit, the rest of E3 could possibly well be the same (I hope it isn't though)

But i'm waiting for either Sony or Nintendo to give me that exciting, butterflies in my stomach feeling when they announce something, I don't care what it is, but if it evokes those feelings/sensations, I will be satisfied for E3 2015!!!

Great show by MS.

As someone who doesn't care about backwards compatibility (don't have time to play the new games even less time for the old ones) I still believe it's a great feature. There are a LOT of Xbox players with huge game libraries that jumped ship to PS4 and now have a really good reason to get a Bone. And that dig at Sony! They don't charge us for the games we already own! LOL it was great.

Didn't feel Halo SP. Warzone could be cool.

The exclusives and indies were nice too.

Now I'm torn on the Hololens stuff. It was amazing as expected. But is it a true experience or just a concept they are throwing around?

After we learned that the Hololens unveil earlier this year was fake as hell I'm skeptical. Seems like it will take years to get something like that to the market. Probably on Xbox Two.

Overall I'd give MS an A.

Sony will have to show a lot to beat then this year and frankly I'm not a believer of Morpheus. I think it could be Sony's Kinect.

For Ma and Pa that are looking for a new console for little Billy (who has a pile of 360 games)

It will probably be a big deal.

why would they be looking for a new console for Billy if he already has a 360 with a pile of games? make that little brat play those old ass games.... remember when he stole the neighbors newspaper?

Felt like was one of the best showings that Xbox has done recently, really cool mix. Will be happy with my Xbox one this year into next now just hope Sony do the same.
