Sony must be scrambling to re-edit their presentation. I bet they didn't expect MS to announce Scorpio, especially after Sony said Neo wouldn't be at their show.

First off it doesn't work that way... second why would they? Announcing this early just forces people to hold off.

Being that I expected nothing of interest to me out of this conference, a multiplayer pirate game that I can play on PC is a big bonus!

The rest of MSs franchises are tired.

This conference has left Sony worried. MS did nothing but bring games games games, and then killed it by showing their vision for Scorpio.

What games?
ReCore looks like its running on the Wii U
Sea of Thieves looks pretty great but I wonder why there was no combat.
Gears lost the magic and has the most generic cast of characters in a game since Brute Force.
Scale bound looks dreadful

They lost D4 as an exclusive and had to show off a card game and Tekken 7 to fill time.

Finally they are so scared of being completely pushed out of the console space with how archaic the Xone already is that they have to announce a successor that is over a year and a half from launch and doesn't even have a shell on it just so fans like you can feel good.

That was a dismal showing.

Sounds awesome.

But let's be realistic here, Scorpio will be a 1080p 60fps dream, but expect 4k at 30fps with drops as the 980ti (slightly comparable in performance) can't handle high end games maxed out at 4k on pc, you do have to drop some settings to get playable frame rates. The only GPU at the moment that can handle 4k maxed out at playable frame rates is the GTX 1080 and it has about 8.8TFlops. (and costs $599)

But that being said I will wholeheartedly enjoy playing the Witcher 3 at 1080p 60fps on the Scorpio. (And the neo for that matter)

Only We Happy Few appealed to me in that conference. I really liked the music to Forza Horizon 3 trailer but I'm not a race fan.

So far E3 has been a bit of a bust. We Happy Few, Prey and Dishonored 2 is all i've seen for my taste. Hope Sony bring it.

I have all consoles and a Gaming PC. Microsoft just convinced me i don't need my Xbox anymore. That's my takeaway from this conference. I'm happy that i can play all my games on my PC. I hope they make the Windows Store less shitty until the good games come out.

I think that's great. MS just convinced you that you'll play games as part of Windows 10 then.

Up to gamers to decide.

That was pretty weak. 6/10

Scorpio will kill sales even more for X1 now. Games will not run at 4K, no matter what they say. Unless the console will cost $1000+

Thinking about this...

Scorpio made the Slim obsolete less than 10 minutes after it was announced.

Not sure if that's a good idea since the Scorpio ain't coming out for another 18 months.

I guess the good news is that the backward compatibility is there, in case you do jump on the Slim for a few months and trade up?

/shrug

A year and a half isn't "a few months".

I know what you're saying though, and I actually agree that it was a bad move to announce Scorpio so early.

Really bummed by the Sea of Thieves showing. Looked like there was no point to the game at all.

so MS just told me not to get the Xbone S at the end of the conference. Good

Xbox one S is the budget model, doesn't even come with a controller. Regular console is still around, and Scorpio is for the console enthusiast. Them they have PC support as well for the hardcore gamers.

Microsoft covering all their bases is defintiely a smart move

Not a bad conference. Quite a bit of variation and all the games look pretty fun.

I do have to wonder why they announced Scorpio though. They can't just talk to their partners and tell them that its coming? It makes the current XB1 look like a bad buy.

I think that was the best E3 conference I've seen.

The presentation was slick, no technical errors, Phil Spencer was great.

Gears of War 4, Horizon 3 and Sea of Thieves all looked brilliant. The indies didn't take up too much screen time and what was shown looked good. The cross buy between Windows 10 and Xbox is a great service to the consumer.

The conference wasn't DLC centric and it was refreshing that CoD and FIFA weren't prevalent.

The only part I didn't like was the Minecraft part due to the slightly wooden delivery.

One S and Project Scorpio look brilliant. Just not sure which to wait for!

The ball is in Sony's court now because I thought that was a really solid display from Microsoft.

It also felt very "me too" I thought MS said VR wasn't the future they are just "watching the space" now 4K and VR is part of there vision. That video was very similar to PS reveal "4 devs by devs" slogan Sony has at the February event. Even the slim looks like a white PS4! Lol...

It wasn't crap, I don't agree with the 5/10 stuff, but it was pretty forgettable besides a big powerful machine is coming next year. Maybe this is more exciting if you game on PC though I dunno. They could have practiced the presentations better as well.

this is already proven untrue come on

I have to say this was a C-. The "demos" were obviously cut videos half the time, and the overly extreme marketing was bad, the general rham in killer instinct teaser being standout bad. I'm excited that games are coming to pc, but then I remember how much of a cluster fuck the Windows 10 store is and I stop caring.

I'm sorry but I don't really understand Microsoft strategy right now. Are they going to battle vs Sony? Then why release exclusives on PC?

Are they are going for active userbase on Xbox/W10 ecosystem? Then why undermine Xbox One S potential sales by announcing the much improved Scorpio 1,5 years in advance? No one in their right mind will get a XB1 now if they really cared about power like Microsoft ended up selling as a very important thing.

Then as I've said before, this PS4Neo/Scorpio will end up badly because games will have to be designed around PS4Poor/XB1 limits. So basically you will never use the full potential of the more powerful boxes (not graphics wise but level/world design etc.).

The entire conference suffered from the leaks but I actually see it as a good thing because in the end the content wasn't really as good as previous years and without the leaks people expectations would only be bigger so more disappointment (which is a trend so far at this E3 which is odd...)

I think it is possible that the scorpio will be released under a monthly subscription plan that includes the console 'rental' as well as a collection of games playable on both Xbox and Windows 10.

With so many of the "surprises" leaked it became a very underwhelming conference, that's not really MS' fault but that is probably still how it will be remembered. Forza Horizon 3 looks amazing though.

Cross-buy sold itself well, but as someone with a PC and a PS4, I'm even less certain of picking up an X1 slim in the interim.

MS was better than EA or Beth by a decent margin, had way more games to show, but still not 'amazing' as such.

I mean seriously if I was interested in buying an Xbox One, knowing the Scorpio was coming in 18 months I definitely would not buy the One before that. I think it is a terrible move.
