Valve's Counter-Strike 2 info dump this morning got me thinking about how crazy 2023 is for gaming. Specifically, about how we are seeing so many titles I thought would never happen:
I know I'm forgetting something, point is this might be the best year for gaming since 2007, and were not done yet!:
- A new AAA Harry Potter RPG
- Valve still can't count to 3, but were getting a new full Counter-Strike game regardless
- Diablo IV
- Pikmin 4 (The series could have been dead for all we knew)
- Hollow Knight 2
- Hades II (The developers are not know for making sequels so this was a surprise!)
- A new single-player Bethesda RPG (Starfield)
- A new Professor Layton game
- Resident Evil 4 Remake, and they didn't fuck it up
- Dead Space Remake, and they didn't fuck it up
- Street Fighter 6, with an actual single-player mode that's worth a damn!
- Octopath Traveler II
- An Xbox exclusive that feels like a 2000's Japanese action game (Hi-Fi Rush)
- Armored Core 6: Holy Shit I Thought It Was Dead
- AAA Avatar Game (Legends of Pandora)
I know I'm forgetting something, point is this might be the best year for gaming since 2007, and were not done yet!:
What is Nintendo's holiday game going to be?
Will Xbox squeeze out a surprise game in Q4?
What about Sony?
What are you looking forward to, and what did I miss?
