I'm going with the Yankees in seven games. Could be a hell of a series.
 
I'm pulling for my Dodgers but we've been burned so many times in the stupidest of ways I'm terrified the bottom will fall out here when it looked like it would against San Diego again.

If they don't and they actually do play their best it should be a fantastic series that I'm hoping the Dodgers will take in 5 or 6.
 
dodgers have a better lineup, better bullpen, and they have several Yankees killers. Kike and Teoscar Hernandez, mookie and othani, are all Yankees killers. Kike is amazing in the Playoffs too so good luck to the Yankees pitchers. Apparently he's 3-6 with 3 home runs against rodon and 9-17 against Cole. Good luck.

Then there is Tommy Edman who has turned into othani all of a sudden.

Yankees have talent of their own but they will fall short unless Judge goes off and the bottom of the lineup starts hitting homeruns.

If volpe who has been amazing starts hitting homers, jazz gets hot and verdugo hits a couple then the series might go to game 7 and then it's anyones series. But that's a lot to ask. The dodgers bullpen is insane.

It will be a good series like the guardians yankees series but i don't have a good feeling about this. The dodgers aside from their starting pitching are straight up scary and unlike that idiotic guardians manager, they won't pitch to Stanton who is a postseason God.

dodgers pitching is bad and yankees is a lot better. you are underestimating the importance of that. pitching wins championships.

I watched their Mets series and the final two games against the padres. Their pitching is insane. Especially the bullpen. They are missing a starter but they pitched 3 bullpen games and won two. lets not forget they went 35 innings without giving up a run.

As for the starting pitching, yamamoto pitched an absolute gem against the yankees in the summer. He had one bad game against the Padres, but hes been great since. Jack Flaherty has been great too save for that one bad game against the Mets but he was apparently sick.

To me, Yamamoto = Cole, Rodon = Flaherty, Schmidt = Buehler, and Gil = whatever bullpen arms they throw that day. Blake Tieran, Kopech, and Evan Philips are better than Weaver, Holmes and Kahnle. Not by much but these guys have filthy stuff while the yankees are a bit more hittable. Especially against that lineup.

The way their offense dispatched the Mets was brutal to watch. The yankees have better pitching than the Mets but that offense has amazing success against the Yankees. Maybe the Yankees have a good gameplan against these guys but its a long series and good hitters adjust.

I hope im wrong. i thought they would never bounce back from the brutal Game 3 loss in the ALCS but they proved me wrong, but the guardians offense is feeble compared to the dodgers.
 
I'm rooting for the Yankees but I feel a lot's going to have go right for them. Judge and especially Chisolm are near automatic outs right now and Volpe hasn't matured into an impact hitter. Wells has been cold for months. Rizzo is at best a singles hitter now...

Flaherty's going to have to keep his "form" he showed his last start. I feel like Game 1 is super important for New York to win.

Yankees have had only one Homerun from hitter 5-9. And that too was a pointless one by jaz who has been atrocious.

Rizzo and Volpe both have high averages and OBP but no RBIs let alone home runs. Wells has been an automatic out. Verdugo at least had a couple of big hits, but even he's hitting under 200 with no HR. Hoping Volpe's good at bats are a sign of things to come and he can hit a couple out.

Rizzo should be hitting behind Stanton, not Jazz. No need to split up stanton and judge anymore. Rizzo cant hit homeruns with two broken fingers but if they walk stanton, at least he can get him in. Stanton has 5 homeruns this postseason and only 6 runs. no one is driving him in.
 
Rooting for the Dodgers, went to Dodgers games as a kid (back when Hershiser was on the mound and Lasorda was the manager) before moving to Illinois at 11. Can't stand the Yankees either, so I'd be rooting for them anyway.
 
Dodgers have the superior pitching they should win. Record number of shutouts and scoreless innings from their pitching in this year's playoffs, especially coming from their bullpen.
 
I'm a huge Mets fan, so I hate both teams. I can't bring myself to ever root for the Yankees though, with all the years of having to deal with their obnoxious fans. So yeah, go Dodgers or something.
 
Great news for Yanks. Evan Phillips got injured and is not on the world series roster.



He had no given up a run all postseason. Means Blake Treinen will likely be saved for the 9th inning.
 
Jesus a dodger fan reached over the fence and caught what was almost a HR by Torres. Do you know how close you were to possibly being the next Bartman, dude?

I caught the end of the game as I was flipping back and forth with NBA games.

Why did Yanks intentionally walk a guy to load the bases with two outs? A single would had won the Dodgers the game too. It could also let Yanks get a force out at second, as it was first and third.

I am so tired of these gut punch losses. It's been like this since Boone took over. This one is on Boone. Bringing in Nestor over Tim Hill is classic Boone. completely retarded. Nestor hasnt pitched in a month and a half. Tim Hill has been amazing and the guy they kept just to face Othani.

Then walking Mookie to load the bases forcing Nestor to throw strikes. Boone just sucks ass.

he just missed it. it was only a matter of time with Nestor. he's a great pitcher but you dont put him in there in that situation. especially when you were saving tim hill all game. fuck aaron boone. fucking clown.

Doesnt happen often, but purposely walking a guy to get bases loaded never makes sense IMO. And it was even two outs too. I get it. You might avoid a hot player at bat or get more force out options like Freeman hits a dribbler and Yanks can get a force at third or home.

BUT, it also leads to possibly walking in a run. It also leads to just a shitty single scoring two runs which in this case Dodgers would had won 4-3 too. Why give Dodgers more opportunity to score more? If it was 1st and 3rd, a single is still a tie game and then Yanks can then try for third out with the next batter. Freeman could had also won it on a single.

Both runners moved up a base because Verdugo made the catch and went into the stands. It's an automatic rule.

Boone saw first base open and walked Mookie instead of fucking thinking about it a bit more because he's a stupid manager. always has been.

ive watched this guy for 7 years, and he has no feel for the game.

Ah. Thats my mistake. I missed that part. I didnt know that was a rule too either way.

When I was flipping channels and caught the end part, I checked a sports site and it said it was first and third, so I thought walking it made it bases loaded that way.

But I still stand by not walking to get bases loaded in that situation. I always get a queasy feeling when a pitcher has to not walk in a run. So he'll throw strikes begging to be blasted.

(BTW gaffers the Lakers/Suns game is awesome).

I feel bad for Stanton. He has hit so many iconic home runs for the yankees only for the bullpen to blow the game. the field of dreams game when he hit a go ahead 2 run home run in the 9th. Zach Britton blew the save. He hit that amazing go ahead home run off of Clase last week. they blew the lead with two outs in the 9th. and now this.

regardless, he's a god in the postseason and i hope people remember this performance even if they lose the series. he needs a fucking statue outside yankees stadium. this is the second time he's hit home runs in 4 straight games in the postseason. he's hitting a home run every 7.8 at bats, the next highest is babe ruth at 8.6. everyone else is over 10.3.

its possible only the lead runner gets moved so it was first and third and boone being boone put the winning run on second. he's a fucking clown so i wouldnt put it past him.

bottomline is that nestor shouldnt have been out there. tim hill has been their go to lefty all postseason and hes been amazing. they saved him for othani all game and then went to Nestor who hasnt pitched in forever and was coming back from an injury. so fucking stupid.

I posted a rules snippet and says all baserunners advance a base. It looks like the site I checked was wrong. It should had said I guess the runners were second and third. And then the walk happened.

Seriously, fuck this guy but this is on Cashman and Hal for sticking with this loser for so long. We all saw this coming even if he managed the first two series well. he stuck with Clay Holmes until september even though he had blown 13 saves (one shy of MLB record) and we saw him do the same with Chapman and Zach Britton the past few years. he has no feel for the game. so many of the gut punch losses ive seen are because of this moron choosing the worst pitcher possible.
