Well, it's apparently a concert hall in the Poznan Music School undergoing renovation, someone fucked up and the platform started to go up with a piano positioned off-center (I guess sometimes it stays on the platform with the pianist, really stupid idea).

Also my guess is if he run straight on the platform and pushed the piano he would have managed to get it off before the scene was raised too high.
