FOX decided to kick off 24's new season with a bang! The series will begin it's fourth season by showing the first four hours over two days. The clock-stopping award-winning series will premere on Sunday and Monday, January 9 and 10 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Then, the following week, 24 will air in its regular time period on Mondays at 9 p.m. The series will air without repeats or preemptions all the way to the season finale.

The fourth season of the hit series starring Kiefer Sutherland will begin 18 months after last season's finale. Day 4 will begin at 7 a.m. Erin Driscoll, played by LA FEMME NIKITA's Alberta Watson, is now in charge of CTU. The woman made her top priority the firing of Jack when she took over. Jack Bauer (Sutherland) now works for the Secretary of Defense, played by William Devane. Jack will find himself going back to CTU for a meeting about the explosion of a commuter train.

SWEET.

Man, all those interruptions last season pissed me off. I just really stopped caring after a while even though I watched them all.

This seems a little weird... as if they think it's going to bomb, so they wanna dump the episodes as quickly as possible.

Another season of 24? They should just set up a camera in a room with a treadmill and record Keifer Sutherland running endlessly with a prop gun in his hand screaming stuff like "Drop the weapon!!" and "Get down!!" at the top of his lungs. Throw in a few people in suits milling around with some manilla folders looking stern and you've got the highest rated show of the year.

Dick Wolf fans can put Jerry Orbach on the treadmill if they want a 29th season of Law & Order, although you may have to dial down the settings a bit to ensure he makes it to the finale.

FOX presents it as a Special-Event. They hope that a lot of new people will join the series. The 2nd and 3rd season premieres weren't that great and exiting. Most of 24 seasons start really kicking in around the 3rd episode. So this is a great move from FOX.

Woo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally something to freaking watch on TV... a year full of garbage before my show returns! :D

You should have been watching Lost, dude. Or Arrested Development. Best two shows currently on the teevee.

I can't believe this thing is still going. I mean it was a nice gimmick when the first season was on, but now it's just getting ridiculous. How many times will this guy have to save the entire world in just 24 hours? I couldn't even get through season 2 cause I thought it was too stupid that not only he had to go through it again, but his daugther too.

The elderly just don't understand the Bauer Power. ;)

As long as this guarantees that it airs interruption free, that is all that matters. 23 days until 24!

Meh, I can suspend my disbelief just so far. Like I said, it was a neat gimmick in season 1 that every show was a 1 hour real time episode and he had to figure out the entire plot in one day. In reality they still are not able to capture Bin Laden 3 years after the big event. Instead he's releasing box sets of his greatest messages just in time for Christmas. Bauer should have been put on this case a long time ago.

Funny that you said that because I think it was this past wednesday or last night (don't know, I have bad memory :lol ) I saw my frist episode of LOST and I thought it was really cool. I think I missed the start of something really good. Arrested Development on the other hand is lame.... I don't get it.

Who says he need to save the world in 24 hours?
I think 24 is the most thrilling show on TV and I think the show has some great characters. But this season, only Jack is a returning character.
but Tony and Michelle will return, and hopefully Kim and Palmer too
.

I dunno if you've seen the Chandler Plaza Hotel episodes from season 3, but those where, including Chappele's episode, the best things I've ever seen on TV. It was that good.

Did you all seriously not already know this? Lame.

We knew that season 4 would start with a 2 hour season premiere, and another new episode the following day. We DIDN'T KNOW that we also get 2 hours on monday. Nobody knew that (including you), because FOX released the press release of it yesterday.
