Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Cambridge Studio, and in a working partnership with Fox and the TV show's producers, directors, scriptwriters and stars, '24: The Game' is set between seasons two and three and provides the answers to many unanswered questions: who was really behind the assassination attempt on President Palmer? How did Kim Bauer get a job in the L.A. CTU? How did Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds first start working together? The game has jaw-dropping revelations for '24' fans and thrilling, non-stop time-pressure gameplay.

Featuring many of the stars from the first three seasons, '24: The Game' showcases the most extensive cast of Hollywood actors ever seen in a game. Their voices, likenesses and characters have been faithfully captured and recreated so players really become Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), Kim Bauer (Elisha Cuthbert), Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) and other characters from the show.

'24: The Game' has multiple character plots and strands and over 100 missions covering multiple genres of game-play including:

- on-foot sections with shooting, stealth, puzzles and sniping;

- driving challenges varying from stealthy tailing to high-speed pursuits;

- interrogations where you have to coerce information out of suspects and

- gadget sections including decoding information and examining satellite images

High production values make the whole 24 game experience completely authentic. The game's music has been written by the TV show's award-winning composer Sean Callery, and an all-new script has been penned by 24 show writer Duppy Demetrius in collaboration with the 24 production team.

The game also includes all signature graphical devices and sound effects; uses the unique visual style with cut-scenes produced in conjunction with the series' creator and cinematographer and multi panel windows showing concurrent plot developments as they happen.

Gamers who think they can cope with a brand new day in Jack Bauer's shoes should look no further than '24: The Game' coming exclusively to PlayStation 2 this autumn.

This is either gonna be REALLY awesome or REALLY terrible. I hope it's the former! Great to know they got actual cast members to star in the game...

Eurogamer had this up a few months ago but they were apparently forced to take it down.

Sony Cambridge = Best SCEE dev house.

a 24 game could be really cool. i like that they're using one of the show's writers and the show's cast. and studio cambridge make such pretty games.

I'm a little distressed to see no mention in the press release of how the real-time component will work... if there even is one.

I'm assuming the game's broken up into 24 1-hour missions (48 minute missions?) I could be wrong, but it would seem silly not to copy the show's signature style. It might just fade in/out from time to time and you assume 15/20 minutes passed as Bauer goes somewhere, so.

If that's true, it woul be awesome if you could play through all 24 missions back-to-back with no saving. JACK BAUER IRONMAN MODE!!

Since this takes place between season two and three, I bet you're gonna have to do drugs on the job! Back off NARC

Exactly.

We've known about this for just about a year (with the involvement of Cambridge hitting in January), but it's nice to finally get some details. I'm hope hope hoping it's good, but I just don't know if the concept of a 24 game is even possible to pull off correctly. Guess we'll find out in May.

stupid kim minigames, pls. involving cougar escapes, babysitting, being kidnapped repeatedly, and cleavage.

Again, this is from the developers of MediEvil 1 & 2, C-12, and Primal.

They're the best developers in SCEE.

Again, no offense to Cambridge Studio, I'm not holding my breath.

So, would that be just visible cleavage, or a cleavage-based minigame?

Would be funny if they said something like "24 hours of gameplay!!" on the back of the box. :)

That would be perfect, since such estimations are always exaggerated. :D

If it were 24 hours of realtime and there was a Majora's Mask style event timeline the game would rock.

Would suck for speed runners though :lol

Slightly OT, but WHY is having the original cast so important in a licensed game? There are cases where it's a definite plus (Kiefer's Bauer is something you can't really imitate, to be sure) but...most of the time you can have a voice-a-like and it will have absolutely no effect on the game...but yet people seem fixated on it. When King Arthur was about to come out it was the only thing the press wanted to ask over and over again :)

Oh man, I really hope this doesn't suck. Not a fan of Studio Cambridge's work :-(

Isn't Studio Cambridge = Medieval team?

I'm confused now...so many Sony teams based on interchangable British towns :)

Edit: Yep, Medieval guys. ROCK.

Not just that, but they also made Primal. The battle system might have sucked, but the game was still JAWESOME! Everynight before bed I pray for Primal 2 to be announced the next morning...but God never answers me.

So in that case, they also made Ghosthunter. They seem to have a thing for great-looking games that play dull.

Holy crap, awsome, I remember hearing a rumor about a 24 game before, but damn this is nice to hear, some serious Baur power gonna be going down I hope, and who exactly should EVERYONE be thanking for this game NOT being picked up by EA?

And sounds like it'll be PS2 exclusive, nice...

I want screens...

Please be good...please be great...please just don't be anything I'd hate.

Such a good franchise...DON'T **** IT UP SCEE!

This is my thoughts of this situation exactly. 24 the game is such an awesome concept... but can they pull it off?

One can only hope!

If there's one thing that Cambridge are great at, it's producing gorgeous graphics and a solid frame rate... but their major weakpoint is gameplay, Primal turned into a collectathon and I hope 24 won't end up the same.

I dont think so, i think it'll end up being a decent game that is considered a waste of the 24 format.

Thats not to say it should be some kind of real time game, that idea was around when we originally heard about this game, i think that'd be the easiest way to screw things up, setting how long people spend on the game ensures they will either be bored by waiting around or be too busy rushing around to enjoy it (see Shenmue (just the first one)).

What id like to see is causality, you know in the show when they decicde to send a witness out to some building to get info and the witness gets shot, that sends the show in a new direction. Id like to be able to see what would have happened if id saved the witness or maybe if id decided not to send her at all, and not see a game over screen if the witness does die.

I mean look at the current series, i think they could have averted the current crisis in about 4 hours if Castle's tactical team didnt fuck up every single mission they get assigned to.

- interrogations where you have to coerce information out of suspects and

Oh hell yes... shoot em in the leg... the leg!!!!! :lol

<prays this game is good>

All the missions should be timed. It's the one thing that could make this game unique, but I bet they won't to it. Also, they should make this more a stealth game not an action game.

Even if the game is terrible, i'll buy it for the story alone (good to see the original scriptwritters involved).

Purchase on day 1 methinks

The only thing studio cambridge did well this gen is the graphics engine and production quality. Everything else in their games pretty much sucked if you ask me. That includes, but is not limited to gameplay, character control, animation, art direction, storytelling. It's good to know that at least some of these things will be taken care of or supervised by the people making the show.

Bah, they managed to screw up the only thing I give them credit for. The game doesn't look that good at all, visually. Well, for the most part. There was a cutscene segment or two that looked decent.

Dammit, even the GUI on that briefing/options panel looks sucky.

Graphics look asstacular, but the story is intriguing, and at least they're trying to incorporate all the different types of gameplay that are necessary to be faithful to the show. Hopefully, it won't be overly linear.

looks pretty generic. i'd expected better graphics from studio cambridge. tony and kim look nothing like tony or kim, and the animation is last-gen. well, i suppose a game like this will live and die by its scenario design. the sniper bit from the rooftops looked kinda neat.

aggressive
coax
calm
break

these are the interrogation options. i'm afraid 'break' means 'gap of time' and not 'fracture bone'...shame there's no shoot in leg option.

i'll buy this for the same reason i bought enter the matrix - i'm a sucker, but at least this should fill in some blanks.

Think of what they could add that isn't on the show.

"We have to get to London is 5 seconds or the bomb will go off. To the teleporters!"

- interrogations where you have to coerce information out of suspects

I can spend hours having fun with this section alone. I wonder if the game will let you make your own, custom terrorist torture techniques.
