2p and X360?

Question for those who are bored and are knowledgable in all things X360.

What launch games are 2P off-line? And what games allow you to play online with a guest (2P online)?

I'm having friends over for X360 party at 1am on monday, so I gotta know what games we should be playing.

Call of Duty 2 has slpit screen death match etc.
Kameo has co-op but I am not sure if its Live only or not.
PGR 3
NFS Most Wanted
Ridge Racer VI too probably

Offline-multiplayer
call of duty 2
Perfect Dark Zero
PGR 3
rr6
All sports titles

Online Co-Op?
Kameo (via, patch in a week or two)
...

Thanks, but I'm looking for a little more in-depth info.

Mainly, for example PDZ:

--Can you play the story in split-screen co-op?
--Can you play split screen online deathmatch? Or is it just 1 on 1 offline deathmatch restricted?

Same questions for CoD2 (does it even have co-op?)

Thanks again,

Well, the games I have:

PGR3 (2 players offline, 2-8 players online)
PDZ (1-4 players offline, 32 players online, offline/online 2 player co-op)
Kameo (2 player co-op [online co-op?])

Probably your best bets for multiplayer gaming...

CoD2
PDZ
PGR3
Madden
2K6 or Live

What I want to know is, do any of the games allow two Live players on one Xbox to go online and play multiplayer splitscreen against other Live players, ala Halo2?

My friend won't have a 360 and I'd like for us to be able to play online together.

Yeah, I know several Xbox games like Halo, Crimson Skies, Mech Assault let you do this and I'm wondering if PDZ will let you do it as well?

I checked the games I have and according to their thin booklets it seems that:

CoD2 = offline split-screen only.
RR6 = offline split-screen only.
PGR3 = offline split-screen only (not 100% sure but it never mentions a guest in online)
NBA2k6 = You can bring guests online with you.

I really hope PDZ lets you bring friends online with you for deathmatches. I'd probably buy it just because that'd be a ton of fun with buddies.

Are there bots in PD0?

If there are then thats an instant purchase.

Yeah, split-screen with bots would be pretty fun. I wonder if you can do this in CoD2 as well (since 1 on 1 on those big maps seems like it would be pointless).

Awesome. Now just tell me I can do vertical split-screen deathmatch with 2 humans and 8+ bots and I'm marching to the store to pick up this game tomorrow regardless of the singleplayer quality :)

Great! My blind purchase has been justified.

That's too bad. My buddy really wanted to play that one with me and as you pointed out, 1v1 split screen is pointless and un-fun.

It seems like only a handful of Xbox games had this "friends/guests" LIVE functionality and they were all 1st party games.

I really wish Battlefield 2 had it as well.

I believe there's a Microsoft guideline that requires any offline multiplayer Xbox game to support online guests for online play. As long as someone has an Xbox Live account and the game supports multiple people online on the same console, then everyone else can play online as a guest through the one Live account.

I would imagine that the majority of 1st/2nd party games can do this, including PD0 and PGR3. But I don't know for sure, I'm just going off of what Microsoft requires.

That would be awesome, but on one with the games have mentioned anything like that and it's not listed in the instructions of any of them :(

Most first party ones did, but also some Ubisoft ones, including Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six I believe (definitely Ghost Recon 2).

There is sadly no such requirement in the Microsoft online TRC rules :(((

Gamers am cry, i would definetely set a rule for that i was them. Splitscreen online is almost the best thing! You have the fun to play AND the fun to be your friend. Best of both worlds .... and no one seems to care...

I hope PGR3 is having this option since PGR2 was having it (and i had a blast with my friend tks to that feature)

Well, we had to put guest functionality it in for Wrestlemania 21 (don't blame me, I just tested it) because it supported two players online from the same system. I thought I saw a similar TCR for the 360, I'll have to check again on Monday.
