what's a gonzo starring performance?

The original 300 is only at 60%, but it's been one of my favorite movies to watch since it came out. It's like Pacific Rim, you aren't seeing it for the story or characters, you're seeing it because it's just fun to watch, visually impressive. I'm expecting this to be no different.

Edit: Gonzo is when the narrator also plays a part in the story itself.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the reviews so far. I have a free pass to see it, so I was gonna go no matter what, but now I'm pretty excited.

There's a 300 Marathon at the IMAX in downtown Montreal. Starts at 19:00 and 4 hours for both movies i guess.

Heading to that tonight and since i haven't seen 300 since it came out on Blu-ray in 2007, this will be an interesting watch.

High five for seeing movies for free!

I never knew he was in this movie until last night. Great actor!

lol. I, for whatever reason, cannot take the man seriously as Themistocles. Maybe it's his battle face. His teeth remind me of chipmunks or something.

Damn. Was getting dragged by some friends to see it this weekend and was expecting to be let down even though I liked 300. I'm pleasantly surprised by the reviews so far

I think the trailers have been pretty great even if it doesn't have the center heart that was Gerard as Leonidas. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually good.

Just saw this, I enjoyed it, looks great, the action was pretty good and the pacing is fast so you don't get bored, it was definitely much better than I expected it to be.
Eva Green is breathtakingly beautiful, dear god, I could stare at that face all day.

How does it compare to 300?

Most critics can't review these movies for shit.

300 really caught me by surprise when I saw it (expected to hate it, ended up loving it), but I'd say this is equally as good, the protagonist(s) are not as charismatic as the Trojans were, but Eva Green steals the show as the villain, and I'd say everything else is on par with the first one, except you might not be as impressed with the visuals and the action like you were the first time, although there are some really nice shots in this one.

Actually, now that I think about it, only Leonidas talked with a raised voice all the time.

Do they fight on land? Seems pretty boring to randomly enter boats and killing everyone on board instead of using battle formations. I love battle formations.

Just got back. Very impressed with what they delivered, I hadn't expected to like it this much.

Eva Green's character was a fantastic villain, sensual one moment, fucking terrifying the next.

Wow...I honestly didn't expect this. I thought it'd suck donkey bollocks. I'm surprised. Count me in. Will watch!
For Eva Green

Saw it last night. The story was really boring, and there was way too much cheating on the choreography by just having actors swing their swords around at CG enemies ( reminded me of Brendan Fraser in The Mummy). Eva Green and the Strike Back guy were good though. Overall, I regret not seeing the Liam Neesons on plane movie instead.
