Here's to one of the best of all time. If you want to see a very old Harrison Ford, watch the video at the link.

Last night Lucasfilm held a special one-night-only charity screening of "The Empire Strikes Back" to celebrate the film's 30th Anniversary. The charity showing benefited the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a handful of the film's stars, including Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams and Peter Mayhew were in attendance. Also at the event was Ewan McGregor, star of the three "Star Wars" prequel films.

Collider.com's Steve Weintraub reported that the film wasn't the original version, but a digitalized copy of the 1997 Special Edition "without the Luke scream."

"If you're a Star Wars fan... you know what I'm talking about."

A lot of the voice actors in The Clone Wars were also in attendance.

I heard Nolan and Favreau were there as well, no?

I understand Favreau being there (working with Ford now), but Nolan?

"Fuck it, I get to see ESB with Chewie, Lando and Harvey!"

I'm going to be watching ESB in glorious 1080p for the first time tomorrow :D

before you ask, google is your friend

Saw Billy Dee about 2 months ago at a con, he was cool, sang a love song to the room. He is still a smooth talker.

Anyone else notice that Peter's pimp cane is really a lightsaber? :lol

Awesome, that was the only thing in ESB Special Edition that was dumb

That's kind of depressing, wonder if it is for the celebrities too. Just seeing everyone so old. Looks like Ford has stopped trying. Looks old and drunk.

But looking those photos a few posts up, Ford's hair style is exactly the same, aside from some hair loss.

First movie I saw in a theater. Imperial Walkers were scary.

Edit: I think I read something about Mark Hamill being at Cannes trying to raise money for some movie he wants to direct.

This film was my introduction to Star Wars.

I'd seen clips of A New Hope before ESB, but never really connected the dots, to the movie, but ESB was something.

I was in elementary school and had an exam the next day. My parents were quite strict about my hours (at the time, my Famicom was stored away during school and only playable in the summer) but somehow managed to convince my mom to let me stay up to watch the movie.

And I recorded it on a Beta.

That tape got a lot of wear in the next few years.

One of the best films ever :)
