3DS Streetpass Experiences

Live in a little village so be a while before I get anything round here but went into oxford today and hot streetpassed by one in GAME quite amusingly the mii was trying to convince me to trade in games

First day since the day after launch that I haven't had any hits :(

There's a music festival tomorrow, hopefully people bring their 3DSs and I get some more there!

If I had a 3DS I would have gotten at least three hits today. Guess Glendale, CA is the place to be for Streetpass.
Shieet, I still have to get my ass to Third Street Promenade. The Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia is a good place, too. At least 1-3 hits every time I head down for lunch.

I wish it had more info on the person but of course people would abuse it. Oh well...
It would be really cool if it showed their friend Code. Like have the option in the Mii plaza to show your friend code to street pass people. Obviously have the parental control thing lock it so Nintendo can protect the kiddies.

Eh, no thanks to that, honestly.
I don't want random people on the street as my friends.
Particularly in this town.

Couldn't you just make your Streetpass greeting a throwaway email address? That way they could contact you and you could exchange friend codes.

You could always put it as your message to people but I just have my message pointing to GAF.

I take this thing with me everywhere... EVERYWHERE in the hopes to get hits.

nothing. I'm sure it will happen one day, but not anytime soon.

I'll still carry it with me until I do.

I'm having a hard time understanding what exactly a streetpass "experience" is?

He's talking about "your experience with Streetpass." As in, I've had a horrible experience with Mad Catz controllers because the ones I've bought have always broken and they feel uncomfortable.

So, post your experience with Streetpass. Did you find anyone? Is Find Mii/Puzzle Quest fun? Did it not work at all for you?

I'm sure it was a fluke but I took my 3ds to the grocery store in my mid sized middle American city just put some steps on the system. I live in the lower class part of town but when I got home I had a surprise mii on board. I hope my hippie mii did not scare the poor kid I swapped with.

It is a magical feeling when you pass somebody for the first time and you know your Pikmin have been shouting information from 3DS to 3DS to get you addicted to the whole StreetPass thing.

2/3 of my Streetpasses have actually been the same guy.

It was cool to see that he leveled up in Find Mii after passing him the second time. Since it hasn't even been a week and I've already found him twice hopefully that means I will continue to Streetpass him.

Got StreetPass again on the VCU campus! That's three different people now I've gotten, all in the student commons I believe. None of them had 3DS Sound set up, just Mii's. Two of them had SSFIV, but I don't have that (I just have Pilotwings) so no other StreetPass stuff there.

He's stalking you.

I'm at a LAN tonight and there are a few people with 3DSs, but few have either created a Mii or have them on...

Got one today. Excitedly started the RPG and got the Mii to cast magic. His magic would boost up the next attacker (he was alone) and he then got exhausted and ran away. Fuck you 'Beats' :(

Got my first streetpasses today! Three of them. By the time, it seems like two were from Gamestop, and one was from Futureshop. The Futureshop one was called "Future Man", so it's probably their demo unit. Not that I mind.

One playing SMB3D, one playing Rayman 3D, and one playing DQIX. lol

For some reason I always thought you lived in the UK.

Wife is sick, so we're staying home tonight. Since getting this thing, I've barely left the house! I'm gettin' no street pass action!

I got three at my University yesterday. It is really cool. I'm just worried eventually I will stop getting them. :(

I think streetpass activity is heating up in my area. For the first few days I would be lucky to get one hit. Now I get several a day and they're new people too.

I just went to my local mall not far from work, walked around the mall for a bit, not very busy despite it is Friday... but I did manage to get 1 more streetpass tag, I exchanged Mii's again, probably with some little kid maybe.

I should head back next time when it is way busier tomorrow during the daytime

Two more people today.

Will be heading to Great Lakes Crossing tomorrow afternoon and will be there until closing time. I hope I can get more than two people this time

Well wow, yesterday was a good day for streetpass. 2 on the morning commute, one with RR data. Two in the office, turned out they just got paid so picked up their 3DS's. Six during the lunch rush and another 2 on the way home, both with RR data.

For those in central London, HMV/Game & John Lewis all have machines setup with streetpass data, so if someone is not using the system you will get a notification.

Found my first streetpass person name 'Veloso' in Boston subway station Today.

very cool. I wonder if I should leave my email address in the greetings.

Last Sunday I was able to find three people in Cambridge, UK, and none of them were kiosks.

I've been around a LOT of gamers recently, including a few I know to be 3DS owners, and got only 1. Seems that lots of people haven't explored these options at all, or have no interest in them. One guy was insisting on turning off his wi-fi too, to 'save battery'.

It'll be interesting to see what it's like at nerd events like PAX. Passageddon!

For those of us that live in areas like San Antonio Texas where everything is spread out and everyone laughs at public transportation because it's unfeasable, this is basically a non-feature.

Took a walk to my nearest shopping center, wandered into JB, the Apple store, GameTraders, etc etc. No hits.

yeah the great thing about streetpass is that it rewards people who live in real cities rather than in gas-guzzling sprawling monstrosities

After half a day with the system and 2 trips to the mall, 4000 steps (wich, for some reason translated to only 10 coins) zero street pass data transfers...

I wasn't expecting anything this soon and with the 3DS going for US$500 here in Mexico.

I of course imported it.

There's a 10 coin limit per day. I've gotten a few StreetPass Hits by passing Game/Gamestop. I like that I don't even have to enter the store to get hits!

I'm only 4 rooms away from beating Find Mii.

God damn the shielded ghosts. One of the guys I sit next to at work is Lvl 8. He can 2-3 shot stuff.. haha

Sorry, what's Find Mii?

A mini-game in the StreetPass menu. You use Miis you find in StreetPass or "hire" mercenary Miis using the pedometer coins. These characters then are put into turn-based RPG-esque battles (with minimal options like "attack" and "magic"). The goal is to get through all the enemies and rescue your personal Mii who is being held in a castle. After each section of enemies, you earn a hat that your Mii can wear in StreetPass mode.

You don't earn a hat after each section.

I am 3/4 through and have only gotten 3 hats. Mario, Kitty Ears, and Kirby Hat

Kirby Hat is epic.

Got four street passes today. My first time getting a hit that registered with Mii Plaza. Two in the movie theater to see Source Code -- the one guy was two rows in front of me playing Ghost Recon during the previews, game looks fun -- and one on the subway coming home.

And an additional persona with Street Fighter data.

Between this and people earlier in the thread talking about all their hits during Sucker Punch, it would seem that sci fi or generally nerdy movies opening weekend are the place to be to get street passes.

Mine's currently: Believe.

I can only see StreetPass Quest and Puzzle Quest or whatever. :/

Maybe it's random? I'm only just past the first knight, and have a mario hat, cat ears and a pikmin hat.

Are the heroes you hire always level 1 or 2, or do they tend to level up the further you go?

Dammit, I was there on that day. I didn't have my 3DS then, though :(

Anyway, no luck so far. I think I'm the only person in my school who has one...

Has anyone picked up a girl because of StreetPass yet? Those are the stories I want to hear.

I in fact encountered a girl with StreetPass named Brenda, but I don't know who it was.

Does anyone know btw if there is a limit of how many Miis you can meet at a time?

I'm thinking about cases like the gamescom this year where you'll get hundreds of hits for sure.

I have encountered the same girl twice near my work, both times her recently played game has been Pokémon as well. I can't say I'm not curious...
Who are you Amy?!
