Do you need to streetpass to get different puzzle panels in Puzzle Swap? What is it like when you get a new one, how many do you have, etc.?
I've bought every piece of my starting puzzle and it's telling me I can't buy anymore, and not saying anything helpful like "you need to streetpass with others to earn more panels!"Chatin said:You can trade coins for puzzle pieces too.
Well that's the problem, not everyone. Both of my friends with 3DSs have the exact same starting puzzle as me.AceBandage said:Everyone starts with a different puzzle, so to start a new one, you have to pass someone with a new puzzle.

One from a chef at a sushi joint in Tulsa. The other from some dude at a book store.
u can use coints for all the street pass stuff. It seems like it will take alot of coins to beat the dungon however as your miis get stronger each time you get pinged by them.UncleSporky said:So question for all you streetpassers since Ami isn't giving me a straight answer in the NA Launch thread...

Are you sure that wasn't for SpotPass push Notifications? Getting that notification means you'll get messages from LucasArts about the game. Pressing the deactivate button disables it.Count Dookkake said:Any guesses as to why I got a StreetPass notification from Lego Star Wars that only contained a button to deactivate StreetPass for that game?

While listening to music with the lid closed it does not technically count as Sleep Mode.
This state stays the same even when you unplug your headphones and the music pauses.
To get it to sleep properly you'll have to reopen the lid and manually pause the music or exit to the home menu.
I was under the impression that it only worked while in Sleep Mode.DavidDayton said:... why would that matter, though? Street Pass doesn't -only- work in Sleep Mode. It will work when applications are running as well, I thought. All other WiFi options work during normal use.
eshock said:Ugh, I have two coworkers with 3DS's and we've had a ton of trouble Streetpassing. The first day we could sync, but it took about 15 seconds at close range to kick in. We haven't been able to Streetpass on any of the days since--the green "StreetPass" bar displays when you're on the home screen, but it never wants to actually connect.
We all have the update. Anybody else run into this?
Izayoi said:I was under the impression that it only worked while in Sleep Mode.
I mean, I got eight hits on Tuesday but none on Thursday, and my schedule is exactly the same.
I don't buy it.
Now, I understand the bit about not working if using local communication, but I'm puzzled by the Internet reference. I'm assuming it means it may not work if you're using a dedicated internet program or in the midst of an online game, as it can't "poll" for local data and net data... but the 3DS is "always" internet connected, if the friend list updates show us anything.Page 5 said: StreetPass does not work if you are connected to the Internet, or are using local communication, depending on the
software you are using (see page 26).
I'm so confused. Why no hits after tons of hits? Nothing makes sense anymore.DavidDayton said:I'm scanning the manual right now... and it says that StreetPass exchanges can happen either while playing a game -or- while in Sleep Mode.
However, it ALSO states:

My assumption is that StreetPass is only "disabled" when you are doing things like a System Update, downloading a piece of software (from the eShop), or currently engaged in an online game.

Layton: Heres my answer!
It deffinitly does not work while awake. And ingame. Because when its closed the wireless light blinks rapidly in sucession. But for example while I am playing Pilotwings it starts to blink only every few seconds. Which means its just using the internet while awhake.
Closing it while pilotwings is on makes it blink faster again which obviously means it goes back into sleep mode.
Me liking led lights explains this mystery!

Yea it seems to vary from title. Nintendogs supports it in game. When you press home it even says streetpass on the top bar.eastmen said:Its worked while i played lego star wars and my gf played sims 3 .
Perhaps you should start combing the aisles before the game startsKai said:I was so disappointed today - had my 3DS on sleep with street pass activated while at the Laker game - but sadly nobody at Staples center had one haha. Damn Laker fans need to be more nerdy like me!
The manual says, however, that only one icon is loaded at a time, regardless of how many may be active. Are you within WiFi range when getting a StreetPass logo?WiiRevolution1 said:Yea it seems to vary from title. Nintendogs supports it in game. The light blinks differently to show an active game in sleep mode versus home menu in sleep mode? I think you're reading too much into light pulse times...Edit: daviddayton: But the evidence is within that magical yellow light itself. It blinks much slower when you put pilotwings in sleep mode then when you put the home menu in sleep mode.
Yes I am within wifi range when getting a streetpass bar on suspended nintendogs.DavidDayton said:The manual says, however, that only one icon is loaded at a time, regardless of how many may be active. Are you within WiFi range when getting a StreetPass logo?
