3DS Streetpass Experiences

I got my second StreetPass experience today. It was a very weird one since it happened at an hour I was driving on the Highway. I guess I passed or got passed by someone that had their 3DS StreetPass active.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it works on the road as well.

Haha I don't mean to piss you guys off.

I live in the States too, and when I said "lazy" I am actually including myself. It's also a criticism toward American suburban living situation. I live far from school but I take public transit.

I find it a bit rude to presume anything about anyone's situation. There are a lot of variables you haven't a clue about to so non chalantly suggest something like, "you guys could move nearer to your work". So lets just refrain from insulting stereotypes, and keep any suggestions about improving our commute situations to ourselves unless asked.
and you could drop the attitude.

you do choose to live where you live. you do choose to work where you work. you do choose to commute the length you commute.

nowhere did i say you shouldn't, but you have to accept that you choose your commute, and as such you can't really use it in defence of not walking/biking/whatevering to work.

i drive to work too, but i'd never claim that i didn't have any choice in the matter. but then i'd also take no offence at being called lazy because i'm not, so i'd just shrug it off.

That's a load of horse shit. Financial situations and regions of cities prevent some people from living where they want to, a lot of the time. The job situation is even worse given the economy lately, it's rough finding ANY jobs let alone anything within a reasonable driving time or distance.

Living and working tends to be far more an issue of circumstance than choice.

believing that is a self fulfilling prophecy. if you're happy with a 20 mile commute and aren't actively looking to reduce it, then yes, you have 'choosen' a 20 mile commute.

but whatever. i didn't think it would upset people to point that out.

But like a smartass you suggested moving closer to my job, assuming...that I had a problem with a 20 mile commute? Please point out that I expressed any disatisfaction with it, enough so where you thought it appropriate to respond with your bullshit advice...as if it had ANYTHING to do with our original response in this thread.

You should read more carefully; you'd have seen that we werent complaining about driving to work, but were calling out some presumptuous smarmy dickweed for making that lazy american remark.

lol@seady.

all this drama for nothin.

Man, I live in JP and I didn't know Streetpass doesn't work until you activate it in-game!

So I've been to akihabara and various other places with my 3DS in sleepmode but I wasn't able to get anything from it except for coins for my walking. Gahhhh. I missed out on so many tags and puzzle pieces and music.

So I'm at a light and a dodge pickup pulls up next to me. 5 seconds later, my notification light comes on and I have a mii named HEMI. Before I could say anything, the light changed and he drove ahead. Heh, pretty funny.

I've been bringing my 3DS everywhere I can and I've only gotten one Street Pass hit; someone at the hockey game I went to must have LEGO Star Wars too. It earned me 50,000 studs.

Yesterday I went on a bus trip down to Providence, RI (from NH) to attend a hockey game down there. I was hoping I'd get a Street Pass from someone for something, but came up empty handed.

I got another StreetPass today, walking downtown Toronto again. This time it was someone named Sol. His personal greeting was "NGP will win". I lawled.

Also, I won against him in SSFIV 3D's Trophy Battle.

Finally got one today... I was beginning to worry my 3DS was borked. I was on the platform waiting for a train, and as it pulled slowly into the station and passed where I was standing, I saw a guy inside playing his (mine was in a case in my bag). Luckily, it worked!

I've been oddly not getting any for the past few days, after a good number of days with 1-2 people each. Hopefully I'll start getting them again soon...

Just got back from the early screening of Doctor Who season 6 premier in NYC. I got nine hits, no repeats. A lot of them were from Jersey, actually.

And for those of you passing in and around the city, so far every single time I've been on the A train I've gotten at least one hit, while on the 1 train (which I take far more often) I haven't gotten a single one.

I went to the mall on Sunday and got 7 new hits and then 2 more on the train back home. Carrying my 3DS around all the time is kind of a bitch, but kudos to Nintendo, they've got me doing it.

I took my 3DS to Supanova in Melbourne on Saturday (pop culture/anime/video game convention), and got 18 hits. However, I had my 3DS inside a case, inside a backpack. My cousin came along also and had his 3DS in his pocket the whole time, and got 40 hits! It's a shame that casing/bags losses signal strength, I wasn't aware that it did.

Still, we got a lot of hits, and I feel as though taking it to a convention is kind of cheating XD

Pfft walked round my Uni for hours today, played PWR for an hour or so, no hits... F that! Shopping malls and game stores all the way.

Hmmm, got another Streetpass at my hospital

Funny. You must not live in America where if you're in a hospital, you've probably been bankrupted because you couldn't afford healthcare, let alone a 3DS.

Oh wait, I forgot that everyone has infinite options of finding a well-paying job in the industry of their choosing that's also close to home. Carry on.

you must be a blast at parties.

i got six street passes during my 4 hour shift at gamestop last night. finished my first puzzle and am on the second to last Find Mii room now.

i have so far only got one single Ridge Racer streetpass and they didn't have any saved ghosts, so all i get was some bonus money. ho hum.

I just read that there will be streetpass stuff for DoA:D in order to get costumes.

How does this work? Is there going to be no other way to get these costumes? I haven't paid attention to streetpass at all and know nothing about it.

The DOA extra costumes aren't StreetPass content. They are SpotPass (free DLC, don't know if real or unlock keys) well, at least that's how it's been in Japan.

Went to the Japan cherry blossom street festival in DC over the weekend and collected 9 hits. I'm pretty sure most of those were from when I wandered into the anime/video game section by the J-Pop stage though. 5 of those were Street Fighter battles, and 2 were Music tags. I got my first tag with a girl (2), and I have at least one piece on every puzzle now.

Also I caught my first in-person glimpse of a blue 3DS. Some guy about 20 or 30 feet from me was taking pics with it. It looked pretty cool. Cooler than I thought. The blue was a lot brighter and lighter than it looked in pics I saw online. But maybe that's because I've become so accustomed to black.

So that's 11 total tags, 7 for Street Fighter.

I've taken my to downtown Chicago, spent a lot of time in the West Loop, where I work, and Hyde Park, where I live, and I still haven't gotten any hits.

Still yet to find a Samurai Warrior, but otherwise getting decent hits whenever I go out in UK shops.

Not so much at work though.

Im now on my day 2 of my montreal trip, didnt get anything yesterday, hopefully i will get some montrealer today!! come on Montreal!!

Got my first StreetPass hit today! I was in the mall and I'm pretty sure I linked up with the guy behind the counter at the Gamestop. I got a new puzzle piece, Find Me warrior, and fought him in the Street Fighter trophy battle. It will be nice once more people get their hands on 3DS's so this can happen more often.

Got 2 more hits today :)
One at the hospital and one at another gamestop.
3 hits total so far, was expecting more from a city as big as Stockholm...

Anyone getting SF4 hits? I haven't had any. Weird, since I would assume it is selling well. Even the dude who had SF4 as his last game didn't trade any trophy stuff with me.

why does nobody I meet have any puzzle pieces? I already finished my metroid puzzle, and want a new one.

I got 2 SFIV hits yesterday.

Because puzzle types are based on region, so in order to find a new puzzle you will have to link up with a 3DS from another region, I was lucky enough to link up with a 3DS that had linked up to another region so I have a piece from Super Mario Galaxy 2 now!

Went to the mall where they had a big 3DS demo station with several Nintendo reps. There were probably 10 3DS units there, including two I saw pulled out of the reps' pockets. I got one hit, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't from the demo area (unless the time was incorrect). Weak.

I wonder if ZERO of those units had Streetpass on?

I've only gotten MiiPlaza, SSFIV, and Nintendogs hits. SSFIV and MiiPlaza are pretty close to neck and neck.
