Because puzzle types are based on region, so in order to find a new puzzle you will have to link up with a 3DS from another region, I was lucky enough to link up with a 3DS that had linked up to another region so I have a piece from Super Mario Galaxy 2 now!
In the US the puzzle piece you start with seems to be based on which state you say you're from, so you just need to find someone from another state or someone who passed someone from another state. It's not so bad.
Desperately trying to streetpass my buddy at work so I can get the god damned dog ears. Both of us have streetpass enabled (it's worked every day the past two weeks) but for some reason today we're not connecting. Any ideas?
After a week of not so successful streetpassing in central Copenhagen, Denmark, I finally got my first hit today. I was so happy to finally see that green LED light up. Grabbed a new piece of the Other M puzzle, as well as progressed further in the dungeon.
Streepass is such a cool feature. If Nintendo can find a way to update it on a regular basis, adding new items, dungeons and stuff, I can see myself streetpassing for many years to come. Here's hoping it won't die a painful death due to companies choosing to ignore it.
Just got a haircut, now sipping a beer at a bar on 33rd st. Screw it, I'm actually thinking about walking over to the Gamestop just to get some Streetpass hits. Damn you, Nintendo!
So I was in a food court and I'm pretty sure the guy that sat next to me was the person I just streetpassed with. The Mii looked similar to the guy but as soon as he passed by I got the notification.
I thought StreetPass took longer to react? Plus the Mii looked pretty accurate and we all know how well Mii Maker works... trollface.jpg
I was getting pissed off by the guy in front of me at the post office today taking *so long* with a really stupid query about his driving license, and then when I got home, I had the green light, the Mii was definitely him, and he defeated a ghost for me. Streetpass Payback. I forgive his tardy questioning now.
Getting a streetpass seems so inconsistent. The other day my brother drove up to the house and I got a streetpass while he was in the car (about 40 feet away from my 3ds) but the next day they wouldn't connect until we were standing next to each other. It makes me wonder if I may have missed any streetpasses these past weeks.
Got 7 so far, 5 of them are 3DS from retail stores. The last two days it did not work for me either. I walked along those 3ds' but nothing. The Wlan was blinking on them though. Perhaps someone turned it off
Got 5 more SP's at FrankN'Sons today. One had a dog face and called itself "Furry" and another one was recently playing AceKard2 (AKA pirated games). Don't think he better update his system anytime soon.
Got NSMB puzzle fully done and am working on Metroid. This now makes 22 streetpasses for me.
Holy crap! I just went to "View collected puzzels" and NSMB comes to life. You can even move the camera around with the sliding pad. What a cool surprise!
Pretty weird. I was at a small local used DVD/videogame store looking for PSO v2 for Gamecube.
While i was there browsing, after not seeing PSO, i overheard a group of 3 guys say "man, it's like you're never going to find phantasy star online on gamecube.."
Random.
Anyways, I got my first 2 streetpass hits while i was there. Guessing it was them.
Hopefully once I start going to grad school in Chicago i'll get more Streetpass hits. I'm out in no-mans-land right now, and i've run into 2 people only twice each.
So I went to my friend's place last night, and they both have 3DS'. They were playing Pokemon with C-Gear's active when I got there, so I didn't get a StreetPass hit right away. Then, even after they quit, I didn't get the StreetPass tag. Went to GameStop after their place and picked up their Demo StreetPass right away.
I think the 3DS polls the area, and if it hits a DS wifi signal it won't try to connect again to that signal, because it doesn't think it'll become a 3DS.

I don't think this is true as I have a friend who has the Link, Pikmin, New Super Mario Bros, and Metroid: Other M puzzles and he got them all either at college or at the local Mall. I don't think there's that many imported 3DSs StreetPassing around just yet...

Guess I should've posted this too. A list of StreetPass groups around the US, and around the world: http://streetpassnetwork.com/groups/ (Texas has 9!)

So, just about done with the Puzzle Panels...info below:
- at 103/105 pieces
- completed Metroid: Other M, Mario & Bowser, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Legend of Zelda, Kirby's Dream Land, and Pikmin
- Some are animated once you complete them, others not so much
- 3D'ness varies as well. Zelda is probably the best, with some nice effects & Link swinging his sword.
- Need 2 pieces for New Super Mario Bros. Wii =(
Not quite sure wtf I'll obsess over once this is finished...hopefully they'll update with some more content sometime soon =)

I've finished them all as well - street pass is awesome, but I was kind of hoping that more puzzles / pictures unlocked when you got a new game... that's the way I think the puzzles should work, so you can only get puzzle pieces from people who have the games that you own.
the zelda one is sooo awesome isn't it, I like to move it so that when he swings his sword it is right in the centre of the screen... it makes me blink every time WITHOUT FAIL, I try not to blink but I always just blink because I can't help it. It's amazingly not like a video game graphic and like a spark in real life or something I freaking love it!!
So my friend that I can only SSFIV StreetPass with and not MiiPlaza? Now we don't connect at all for any game, and I can't StreetPass with his GF's new 3DS either. I connected to the StreetPass enabled 3DS at a local Gamestop, so what the hell? Connecting to trade Miis and SSFIV figures works just fine and we're all on the most recent firmware. There are able to trade tag data back and forth just fine.
He and his GF reside in a residential area with a lot of Wifi traffic, I wonder if that's the problem? I got into his network thinking maybe that would do something, but I'm really smh over these weird StreetPass problems.
I would LOVE it if there was a manual "Search for StreetPass Data" button you could hit to force it to look again for tags in the May update.
I spent 2 weeks in my home town and got 1 StreetPass hit. I spent 5 hours in NYC taking various trains and stopping by the Nintedo Store and got 30 hits! This feature was definitely designed for a big city.
When our two were both connected to the same internet they didn't like their first pass. I did the internet update on mine (which said no new update available naturally) but this turned my internet off long enough that the system notices each other. Now the two systems go green as it hits midnight quite happily and some days we get TWO street passes when the other system has been out of range all day and comes home.
I have 105 possible puzzle pieces (which seems to be all the starter puzzles) without trying due to grabbing ones and twos off other peoples. By the time you have 20 people you'll have all the puzzles. Then you have to fill them!
How many street passes can I collect at a single time? I might end up being in Union Square today. If I did get tons of hits, would they all be sitting in my 3DS at the end of the day, or is there a limit?

Ok. So if I'm in an area with a lot of street pass traffic, I would need to fire up Mii Plaza to "process" that group of 10 new Miis before it would accept new ones?

Right. I was at Tokyo Station the other night and filled it up pretty quickly, only to notice later that I'd maxed it out and hadn't been passing data for several hours.
5 hits yesterday. Two or Three of the hits were 2nd encounters, and one of the new hits was from someone who lives out of state. Going to the pinball expo was a wise decision
