3DS Streetpass Experiences

Been at an event today, I didn't know that there's a 10 people limit, lol. Nintendo half-assing features as usual, how do some of you get like 100 a day - reset people on your 3DS every 15 minutes?...

You have to go to the plaza gate to start receiving new passes again and to clear the queue.

I've finally been getting Streepasses on my long walks. But I haven't gotten any damn puzzle pieces. Last four gave me nothing. I should start looking into more conventions.

I just took it out with me for the first time I've been here in Italy and got a hit. Didn't think anything would happen so I was pretty happy.

We have a StreetPass group in Madrid (Comando 3DS) and the gatherings are very successful. Once every 2 months more or less and there usually are between 20 and 30 people, with a good female ratio (for what you'd expect out of group of geeks) and ages ranging between 14 and 30-something years old.

Finished the newest Mario puzzle early on at NYCC last week. Man, it's trippy.

I cleared my queue as much as I could (and got the 3DS hat, only two months after I got the golden key) so hopefully a bunch of others there could finish the puzzles too.

Fun tip: Mii you hire in Find Mii 2 can be retroactively used in Find Mii 1, so if you've got a good population, you should be able to wrangle the 30 Miis without too much trouble.

THANK YOU!!!

For those wondering, you have to hire them in Find Mii 2, and without using them, back out to the menu and select Find Mii.

I spent about a week playing Mario Kart 7 with the Mii Plaza invitations set to "on" before realising they were clogging it up. Now every so often I have to go in, scroll up several pages through legit StreetPasses and delete them.. slowly.. one by one. Such a chore. :(

At work we have about 15 people every day bringing their 3DSs in - it means that we've finished all the puzzles and got most of the hats.
Anyone in Sheffield should come and swing by our office!
I hope more puzzles come out soon :(

After two days of bringing my 3DS in while I work I've got... one streetpass (and a pink puzzle piece). I bought a used DS, so some of the Find Mii and Puzzle Swap content was filled out but it looks like I might be using play coins for a lot of it.

Got to the golden key room....... fuck this is gonna suck.
The best way to tackle that room is to just wait a good number of days to save up play coins then go in with a few of your highest level Miis and wanderers to do it in one go instead of chipping away at it.
Hire a wanderer first to take the mummy scare then use another to disperse the gas and attack with the rest, using the other wanderers to buy the potion that returns heroes when your Miis have gone. Also if the guide I used is anything to go by, you want to take out the reaper first as he can apparently revive the mummy.

Am I reliably informed that I am able to restart Secret Quest without danger of losing any of the hats I've earnt? I'm on my fifth playthrough, and I'm pretty sure I've got all the hats I can from rooms 32-35 (the final tower). Rather than bother with these, should I just restart and take a different route?

Met up with 4 people from my city. Wish it was a bigger turn out, but ehh what can you do. It's a StreetPass Georgia group...definitely looking for more members! I guess 4 people is decent considering they have only 20 people on their facebook right now (it just started up recently). San Diego and a couple other cities seem to have amazing turn outs hopefully ours gets bigger.

I wish we had another convention coming up in my area because I got over 100 streetpasses/day there and leveled up a couple miis, which helped me finally finish Find Mii 2. I have all the puzzles, now I am just working on the hats. I start a seasonal job the first week of November on the weekends and I look forward to getting a ton of streetpasses there :P

Me and my brother got all the puzzle pieces between the two of us at NYCC last week so I just need a few more days of streetpassing with him to finish off the last few I still need and Im done with everything until they drop a new puzzle on us.

I always heard conventions were good for streetpass but I didnt expect it to be THAT good. You get your streetpasses and then, as youre clearing your streetpasses, you get more, and then you clear those, you get more. You can literally spend 30-60 minutes just clearing them. Its awesome.

Haha yep. I haven't had a convention experience, but something near enough to it -- the Zelda Symphony.

I went from around 30% of the pink pieces to 100% in one sitting. When it was done I almost felt like I had just cheated.

By the time I went to the Zelda Symphony I was basically done with everything except a few hats. And a bunch of level 1 Miis didn't help me that much. But I do enjoy collecting them regardless.

Yeah pretty much haha I couldn't put my 3DS down because it seemed like I would clear them and the gate was full already, clear that and the gate was full again >.< Don't get me wrong I LOVED it but sometimes I was like ugh I'll just do it later so I am sure we could have gotten many more passes. At Japan Fest in Atlanta we got a ton of different region passes from Japan (obviously). That's the best experience I have had as far as regions go.

I went to the Zelda Symphony show in Boston last night, and it was ridiculous how many street pass tags I got. By the time all was said and done, I must have gotten somewhere close to 50. Unfortunately, my Find Mii quest had landed me in the room with the poison fog and I never got two consecutive yellow shirts to dispel it. After the second time of wasting ten tags, I just stopped playing the quest and only checked puzzle pieces. I'm down to needing one final blue piece. Pretty crazy!

Whenever you need to clear a room condition requiring two of a color they just have to both be in the same group; they don't have to be consecutive. All Miis before the first one is up will bail but once one person of the correct color is on deck, the second will come in out of sequence.

Yea I just learned that the hard way.....

Just completed the Secret Quest for the 6th time(!)
Oh well, time to start the 7th....
Gotta get dem hats.

Heh, this weekend and next weekend are gonna be very interesting.

Detroit Fanfare/Tigers World Series this weekend; Youmacon next weekend

The amount tags I'm gonna be getting....so good. Just wish they would release another new puzzle before next weekend cause I'm almost done with the NSMB2 puzzle

Gf's 3ds died. Sent it to Nintendo jp to get it fixed. They informed her they couldnt recover the data. Did she lose store purchases and currency too? Only other thing she had saved on the system was mii info. Gonna be a bitch to recover all those puzzles. Guess most likely this will be a trip to akihabara to fill those up...

Just got it back. Everything saved on system is wiped. Everything on SD card still works. Shop recognized same ds so funds and history are there.

I didn't even know you could StreetPass that. haha

I guess it's best I don't open that app at all. I certainly haven't since buying my 3DS.

yeah i found out about this from tyerforce...setup a nujabes playlist, cause you can apparently trade those in passing.

Seems like a common error on the internets is that you get the Shy Guy mask on your 3rd time through the Ominous Shrine is Find Mii II but it's actually just your first time through the room. That saves me an estimated 2 more playthroughs, so that's good.

Done with Find Mii II now. On to the Secret Quest!

Any optimal series of routes for the Secret Quest available online somewhere?

haha damn enzos, just got the shyguy mask myself the other night...i keep thinking "ive gotta have most of these masks" NOPE and that's with 2 runs through secret, shit

What were the requirements for getting both keys in Secret Quest again? Cause I know I used less than 20 heroes to beat the final boss and I didn't get the key

at the rate i am going nintendo better not release find mii 3 until like the end of 2013 ;) I think I am on my 2nd or 3rd secret quest ... and I bet that you will have to collect ALL the hats until find me 3 unlocks :(

I've just done my fifth playthrough of Secret Quest, so there are just a couple of hats on each route to pick up now.

Should I just quit after getting the hats, to avoid going through the last tower over and ver, or are there achievements for finishing it a stupid number of times? Otherwise it looks as though I'm gonna have to finish it at least another five more times...!

Pretty sure there is an achievement for completing the secret quest 10 times.

wait, how do you quit after getting hats? i thought you had to finish each quest you started.

also how do you get both keys in secret quest again, still dont have the one closer to the start point

There's a room (on the top path?) that once completed will grant you the key.

And you can choose to "give up" on your quest at any point. Rumour has it that this doesn't affect the hats you've unlocked on that run, which is good to know once you squeezed as much use out of the last five stages as you can. The trade-off is those damn achievements though.

Edit: Scrap what I said about the key. It's in a different room. Check this out:

ahhh thanks Chopper! room 19 one more time it is.
wait so im not sure if i got the gold key then (that's the one for slaying the boss of secret with < 30 or so miis yeah?), is there a way to check if i have it? what door does it open?

Haven't been actively StreetPassing at cons like I once did, so I've fallen behind on the scene. I'm finding it odd how my Mii Plaza seems to be stuck at 2,962 (at least I think that was the number) people. I'll meet new folks, but the number won't budge past that.

There is a total population limit of 3000. You probably hit the limit already if you have Miis from other sources (SpotPass, Mario Kart, etc.).

There's a new Puzzle Swap panel being sent out via SpotPass in North America right now! It's
Kirby's Return to Dream Land
. Dunno if it's just North America or every region.

I wonder if Japan got an Animal Crossing panel while we got this one over here... Did anyone with a Japanese 3DS get a Notification?

Goddammit, why couldn't they have released that about a week ago when I went to Youmacon?!
