3DS Streetpass Experiences

Got a fair number of passes the past week. Completed the DK:CR and Kirby puzzles. Got all the pink pieces for Star Fox 3D and Zelda OoT: 3D. Also finally completed Street Quest twice so on to II now. That Waluigi hat draws ever closer!

Has anyone ever gotten a new card for the M&S app through streetpass? I only ever get cards I've already got.

Can you only get play coins from walking with the 3DS? You'd think you'd earn play coins by playing games. :/

I don't have a nice case for my XL yet so I don't carry it with me.

So far I believe. Which is very annoying. I understand why they'd limit the amount you can get from walking, but with out other ways to earn them it makes it very frustrating. It would not be very hard to incorporate them into say Mario Kart or Kid Icarus as little in game rewards.

So I just got to the last boss of Find Mii II for the first time. To be clear, I have to
kill the last form of the Find Mii II Secret Quest boss in under 25 Miis correct, not the regular Find Mii II final boss form?

It's the very last thing you fight in Secret Quest where the number of Miis matters. Don't worry too much if this is your first time through, as you won't run out of routes to follow until the third or fourth loop.

EDIT: Or you're not even there yet, yay sleep deprived reading comprehension...

Got all my hats! Not any reason to keep doing find mii, so I will finish this run and not restart it. I will probably check mii plaza but no need to to the games in it.

damn, ill never get all these hats...well, maybe at the zelda concert.

working on find mii 2 for the 2nd time, bottom door's still locked. beat secret quest twice, still no key for the lock at the bottom row. i gotta work on these keys.

Got some level 7s ready? You'll need at least one, and optimally two of the same color, to finish off the last boss under the maximum number of Miis allowed for that key.

Saved till 300 coins. Killed Dark Lord twice in one go cause I was near the end the first time. feelsgoodman.jpg

i do indeed, 2 green shirts as well! if i kill the boss of find mii 2 in (how many?) # of miis, do i get a key, or does it need to be the secret quest boss?

i just wish i knew exactly how to get all 3 keys, and which corresponded to which lock. i know i got the one that opens (i wanna say) the furthest lock in secret quest, but that's it so far.

It's the last thing you kill in Secret Quest. I don't think vanilla Find Mii II has anything on that level.

Today I got a hit from two Miis. One from Austria, one from Australia. Neither have maps :( That's 3 countries I now have tagged that are mapless.

Seriously Nintendo, how hard is it to make a few maps? I can understand say Uzbekistan not having a map since 3DS probably aren't sold there, but Europe and Aus is a bit unacceptable. So I take it just North America, Western Europe and Japan have maps?

Got the Gold Key.

David's Handy Tip: If you go into the final battle with a team of 10 people and just keep using potions to have your level 5+ guys repeatedly thwack the final, FINAL boss of the Secret Quest, you can easily beat it with just that set of 10 and get the gold key.

Just :

* At least 2 high power guys (most of us have at least two level 5 Miis from Spotpass, plus anyone else)
* A good number of backups/hires/wandering adventurers to use potions.
* 100-150 Play Coins.

Then...

* Start the battle by buying the power up potion (can't recall the name)
* Just keep using your two strong guys to attack (preferably each on a team with a lower level character)
* Each time you use up your 2-3 strong Miis, have a level 1 call 'em back with the 20 coin recall heroes potion (again, I forget the name).
* Repeat until the final bad guy dies.

It was surprisingly easier than I expected. I was worried my two level 5 and my 1 level 7 wouldn't be able to pull it off.

Yep. Just do the puzzles now. Should get more of them this month, I'd think.

Does anyone actually get all the hats and miss any puzzle pieces? Puzzles take a lot shorter time than hats. (With the obvious exception of you got all the hats and they release a new puzzle.)

Anyway, I'll be leaving Japan in March, so it would be nice to get some of those puzzles sooner than later. Or hope the Germany streetpass scene is decent at least. Of course since my fiancee has a JP 3DS w/ all the puzzles finished so if they release stuff that is already out in Japan, I'll be able to gradually get them finished.

If you brute force plowed your way through Find Mii/II/Secret Quest via coins without being able to get a lot of StreetPasses, absolutely. I haven't been to any Conventions, etc., so it's just been local meetups and random StreetPasses. I think most people never bothered to update their System with the new Pink Puzzle Pieces, because they only times I get new Pink pieces is at the meetups from the 1-2 guys who have been to Conventions, etc.

Streetpassing is absolutely terrible around this area. >:(

Got a StreetPass from Garrett from Mega64 tonight. Wasn't sure it was him when I saw him. Got home and checked my 3DS and had his Mii.

Yesterday I went to Japan Matsuri (basically a free public festival/exhibition in Trafalgar Square in London by the Japanese ambassador to promote Japanese food and culture, complete with free food tasting and martial arts demonstrations). It was packed and in the end my 3DS streetpasses maxed out 3 times, meaning I met at least 30 other 3DS owners; I honestly didn't expect that many.

That was a unique week. I managed to keep tagging the same two folks over the course of the week, ending up with a Level 6 friend (tagged them TWICE in the same day, seemingly just 2-3 hours apart) and a level 3 friend (they vanished midweek).

Got the Gold!

*goldkeyhelp

Mr. David Dayton,
thank you! Finally managed to get the gold key with your strategy.
now off to get the last hats.
oh, and nintendo: i'm close to finish find mii 2 and have all puzzles. Give me new shit to do!
fuck the achievments, though

Went to Wal-Mart to pick up Pokemon Black 2 (they didn't have any...), but on the upside, I turned on my StreetPass in the hopes that someone would also bring their 3DS, and it turns out I was in luck and got my first StreetPass Mii. I should've set up my Mii more, it didn't have the details the Mii I got did.

So does anyone know if Streetpass would still work if I put it in sleep in DS mode?
Cause I want Pokemon tags, but also Streetpass.

I've been reformatting my launch unit over and over, trying to get e last puzzle I need. The Pilotwings one. I must have done this 20 times now, and it is yet to show up in the spotpass delivery.

I remember when these were first distributed, there was a belief that what puzzle you got was a result of what "region" your 3DS is. I have a European unit, and have casually tried different regions and got mixed results. But I'm sure Pilotwings is the only one that hasn't shown up yet.

Can anyone here, a European preferably, explicitly remember receiving the Pilotwings puzzle piece when the second batch of puzzles launched? If so, where are you?

Edit: Got it. From Austria. That took far too long.

ONM has a comprehensive guide to Find Mii (or Streetpass Quest as we call it here across the pond.)

This fact blew my mind:

Quote:
Did you know you can run both Streetpass Quest 1 and 2 at the same time? After unlocking Streetpass Quest 2 you can also use the Mii characters you Streetpass to go back to the original without fear of deleting any of your progress.

Just a heads up in case anyone tries this - you can indeed play the two quests at the same time, but there is one flaw....

Say you Streetpass one Mii - you can either use it in Find Mii 1 OR Find Mii 2. You CANNOT use the same Mii in both quests.

Saw a video where if you StreetPass a Mii and then buy past heroes in Find Mii II, you can back out and use the StreetPassed Mii and bought heroes in Find Mii I, if you wanted. Haven't tried it, yet, though.

Haven't finished a single pink-spotted puzzle yet :/

On a more positive note, I just discovered 3ds' music player does mp3. Neat.

Tyerforce taught me you can see other people's playlists if you set up one and share it! i havent met anyone else that's done this yet, hopefully next zelda concert.

speaking of, i know its been said but any con you can go to is your best chance at pink pieces.

Done that. No feedback yet.

No conventions anywhere close to where I live. Nevermind though, I still have a few pink-free sets to finish.

Just went on a trip that spanned four states over the weekend, carrying my 3DS in my pocket the entire way. Guess how many streetpasses I got?

0

I went to a video game convention this weekend and got 3-4 streetpasses...

We have a winner! Have a cookie.

Which convention was it? I'm hoping to have better luck at NYCC this year - got about 70 or so passes last year IIRC, far short of the number I get at PAX East, Otakon, or MAGFest despite being smaller shows in terms of attendance.

I frequently go to the gigantic mall in Lexington, KY (metropolitan area pop ~500k) on Friday afternoons and get 0 streetpasses.

Last weekend I went to the Apple Festival in a small KY town (pop ~4k) and got 2 streetpasses.

Went to a game convention last weekend (First Look, in the Netherlands) and got 84 streetpass hits. Not bad, but all those level 1 Miis are so weak.

Is there a way to see where exactly the hits took place, or, rather, where precisely the street pass connection occured?

Not sure what you're expecting as the 3DS has no geolocation abilities, but you can see the time the streetpass data transfer occurred in your home screen notifications before launching the software to claim them.

I'm new to a StreetPass group at my city, and went together (14 guys & 1 girl) to streetpass and play Mario Kart!! It was fun!! I contact them by a group at facebook!! The gruop has 150 members, I hope one day to be all together!! will be great! :D

I was in a group like this in my city. The group was great, had like 150-200 members, but only up to 11 went to the meetings. Also the leader is an idiot. So I left, along with 7 of tje members that went to the meetings almost every time.
