3DS Streetpass Experiences

I heard legends of power saving ridicuslouly decreasing streetpass chances .... maybe you active and she didn't ?
I thought that setting only affected the screen and not anything else in the system.

Some people found deactiviating certain games made streetpassing more successful in general. I would guess Super Mario 3D land uses a lot of space given it has a queue cap of 3.

Wait, wouldn't that be positive for me? I'm the one who has the XL.
Yeah which is what confused me. I'll still have to go with the case theory. Or comparing which games are active.

Question for Monster Manor experts: What are the rules governing max-level increases?

I have picked Windkeeper's Fury to be my beast weapon and I have managed to accumulate a few of them in my inventory. The only thing I know for sure is that a given weapon can only absorb 2 other weapons of the same type (+2). My general goal is to incrementally combine the lowest/worst ones into +2s which I will then combine into other lower level ones until I can ultimately fold my final/best +2 into my final/best +1.

Has anyone else tried to do this? Will this effort produce a useful result or am I just wasting my time?
I felt no or worse skills meant higher max level but really level 28 vs level 30 is not a lot of difference. If you mean EXP for combining weapons. Well some skills make it cost a lot more gems but don't boost the EXP you get by much.

Let's see...

1) Your XL could possibly benefit from being fully restarted. For whatever reason my 3DSs have wonked out a number of different times and, baring any true understanding of what was going on, I have been able to solve the problem by hard-restarting the hardware. On this topic, it is probably worth fully emptying all of your various street pass queues as well. This has seemed to help at times as well though, again, I have no idea why.
Fully restarted as in powering it off completely and then back on again? I seldom do that, could be.

If I have a few notifications about the Bravely Default demo (the oldest has been there for several months), does that count as a streetpass queue?

I didn't have power saving on today, the 3DS was simply closed on the home screen (main menu or whatever you call it).

I keep the 3DS in that plastic sleeve it comes with when you buy it, inside my schoolbag, she keeps it in her handbag, I don't think there's that much of a difference.

I have streetpass active for Kid Icarus, ALBW, Mario 3D Land, the Bravely Default demo, the Denpaman 2 demo, and that's it I think. Prof. Layton is currently lodged in the system.

To the first part yes, I mean actually turning it off. As I said, I have had a bunch of Street Pass issues over the years and I first tried hard-restarting based on advice I got when I googled the problem. The speculation is that there can be caching related issues and restarting will reset this.

To the second issue yes, that is what I'm talking about. Making sure that you don't have anything showing in your notifications screen.

Regarding the power-save issue that someone else mentioned, I would definitely try that as well.

As I've said, this is all pure speculation but should be relatively simple for you to try all of these things.

Will try and tell you guys how it goes tomorrow, thanks!

BTW - I'm walking in a city that right now is choke-full of tourists, so having 2-3 streetpasses a day is REALLY strange.

I am at floor 49 and I am trying get the best possible weapon before I face the final boss. In order to do this I am harvesting weapons from the lower floors.

Max Level increase seems totally random.

In my experience, the ingredients didn't seem to matter much. Like a Level 10 weapon with a max Level of 12 didn't seem to increase my weapon's Level compared to one with worse stats.

Another thing, it's possible Level increases are conserved to some degree. Like you might get a rubbish +1 Level on your first upgrade and then a massive +10 on the final upgrade.

Either way, I spent ages resetting for levels, until I finally stuck with a Dragon Destroyer +2 with a max Level of 30. Kind of forget it's starting level... 18 or something?

Cool, thanks. I wonder how many people there are out there that have put this much into Monster Mansion.

I won't agonize this. I'm waiting for one more piece (a U-shaped five) so I can cash in on my final haul. Once I'm at that point I'll combine whatever I have and then max-out the experience on the final resulting item.

I only have one slot left for another streetpass compatible game.

Good thing there don't seem to be too many more on the release list.

I removed some redundant ones just yesterday.
NSMB2, Mario Kart, 3DS Sound, Bravely Default and Theatrhythm. Have had hundreds of passes for each and don't do a single thing with any of them anymore, nor I doubt does anybody else.

I personally just leave the queues full for things like NSMB2 (half the time it is DLC I don't or challenges I can't run due to not being far enough in the game), SM3DL, MK7, Theathrhythm, Bravely Demo and Fire Emblem as it has the same effect of them not being there at all. I'll deactivate them if I run out of slots (one left and denpa men 2 to play...) though honestly I'd probably get rid of 3DS sound or Pokemon first.

Its a good thing Aero porter has a queue of 99 so I can put off playing for a long time...and yes, I named my plane something like "game is too hard", I wonder if I'm in the minority in my naming.

Ok, today I got 3 and she got 7, though we weren't together for most of the morning. I think it's Super Mario 3D Land, I've got the queue full, but it didn't give me the green notification thing over the game icon... because I've got Layton inside since the start of March.

I wonder if I've been able to give it to others. The sole provider of one piece in all of Japan.

No, data for a given puzzle must be retrieved via SpotPass before you can retrieve pieces for it. On the current iteration of Mii Plaza you don't even see pieces for puzzles you don't have the data for anymore, so as far as Japanese users are concerned, the puzzle doesn't exist.

You made me realise that I'd probably have full queues for games I haven't played in a while. Turns out my Fire Emblem queue has been full since 27th September!

I should probably play it soon, still haven't finished it even.

I was pretty into the Fire Emblem streetpass stuff for a while, but it did get very tedious.

My queue has been full for months too. It's more effort than I am willing to expend even to open the game and dismiss them all.

On the subject of checking StreetPass tags, I'm curious, is there anyone else here who makes sure to always check all of their StreetPass tags for all of their games, regardless of whether or not you actually play those games and use that data much if at all anymore? It becomes a huge chore sometimes, but I make sure to check all my tags not for the benefit of myself, but for others. I also have StreetPass activated for all of my StreetPass compatible titles (which means spreading them across four separate systems, due to the 12 StreetPass title per system limit). I know it probably seems crazy to most people, but one of the things I love most about StreetPass isn't just receiving data, but providing data to others as well. I know most people would quickly dismiss the StreetPass feature on some games (if they even have the game, of course), but no matter how useful/useless the StreetPass feature or how popular/niche the game, I make sure to keep StreetPass activated for everything because you never know who's out there who could potentially get your StreetPass tag for a particular game and be thrilled about it. I know I get excited when I get a StreetPass tag from a game that I rarely ever get tags from, even if the StreetPass feature isn't very notable at all.

I know that must seem kinda silly and it probably sounds like I'm making myself out to be some kind of "StreetPass hero" or something, lol, but I'm just interested to know if there's anyone else here who shares that sentiment. That is, that StreetPass is just as much about giving to others (if not more) than receiving for yourself. It seems like most people only care about what they receive when it comes to StreetPass, and don't care about clearing their tags for games they're not playing so that other people can still receive their data. Which is totally understandable, of course; they're your games, and you can do what you want with them. If clearing all your StreetPass tags for others isn't fun for you, then why do it? I can't say that I enjoy checking all of my StreetPass tags, but I'll always do it to maximize the number of tags that I'm sending out, and, in return, receiving.

I end up checking most of my game - specific passes, if only to keep-on padding my stats.

I like being the guy with the insane number of hits in Mario Kart, Monster Hunter, and Bravely Default.

The King of Streetpass.

I've completely stopped clearing queues for any game I'm not actively playing. Too much effort when almost no one streetpassing is paying any attention to anything other than Mii Plaza and the popular game of the time anyway.

I just recently started getting into streetpass, despite having my 3DS for two years LOL.
I have been really addicted to it. I love collecting all the puzzle pieces and trying to complete panels. I thought I was doing pretty good with puzzles, till I learned I needed to turn spotpass on and download all the puzzles I was missing...I don't think I'll ever complete all the puzzles now :( lol
My favorite game with streetpass is Theatrhythm. I am addicted to receiving streetpass data! I love comparing and seeing what everyone else is doing lol
Anyway, random post. Just thought I throw out some love with my latest addiction lol

It is something of a pain getting home at 8pm and seeing 19 plaza passes, 14 Animal Crossing passes, 32 Mon Hun passes, 74 Pokemon passes, 16 Zelda passes etc.

On my second playthrough of Find Mii II I accidentally went down the same path I went through last time. Is there a way to reset my progress on that game so I don't have to play through the whole thing again?

Every path has at least one room that you need to go through THREE TIMES to get the third hat in there.

Does anyone have the full list of accomplishments since the update that added more? I seriously can't find one online and want to figure out what the big gap is in below the '____ streetpasses' section is. There's like 10+ blanks.

The King of Streetpass.
Oh, you. =P

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't check all my StreetPass tags every night or anything like that, lol. But if my tags in any of my games gets maxed out, then I make sure to clear them. I'll also go through and clear all my tags for all my games before a big StreetPass meet up or convention. But yeah, aside from special occasions like that, I just make sure that nothing stays maxed out. I love games with a max of 99 StreetPass tags, because I don't have to check them very often, lol.

Although, I must say that I don't always check Super Mario 3D Land's StreetPass tags when they get maxed out, because it has such a low limit (seriously, why only 3 tags?!). But if I'm going out and it's maxed out and I don't feel like actually checking the tags, I'll just delete the tags from the Notifications menu, lol. And that's if I'm bringing my 3DS with 3D Land's StreetPass on it with me; I don't always bring all four systems with me, but I try to if I'm expecting StreetPass tags.

Does it take a noticeably longer time to exchange Streetpass data with someone when you have more software with Streetpass enabled?

Tye I've been exactly the same as you since day 1 until now (literally, deleting those titles yesterday were the first I've ever removed) but after 3 years and almost 5000 passes (more than that if I include my original broken 3DS) it's just become a little tedious now. The majority of my older games were getting booted up just to clear tags and then put away again and I just can't see the sense in it when the majority no longer play these games anymore anyway.

I'm impressed by your dedication as always. Four 3DS' is craaazzzyyy. If they all pass each other you must have a monster number of tags...?

Today I did notice I received relay hits quicker than usual now I'm at half capacity. Coincidence? Hmmm...

I'll often carry three 3DS (mine and both of my kids have one) - they can't take them to school so I carry them around to get them StreetPasses. It's all over the map on which picks up who and how many StreetPass wise. I'll pick up 7 on one, 2 on the other, 5 on the last - it's rarely the same number on all three.
I'm sitting on 2041 StreetPass tags and 746 Plaza Population.

Interesting. I wish that you could organize your Streetpass slots by priority so that software you care about more gets it's data transferred first, just in case you pass by someone too quickly to transfer it all.

If you have 12 games saved for your streetpass data on your 3ds, will it always transmit those 12? Or is it just the last played game that sends out streetpass data?

Has anybody else had an issue with Nintendo Zone StreetPasses? Ever since Nintendo upped the number to six StreetPasses per Zone visit -- which was many months ago -- that's how many I've gotten, every time. Now, the past three times I've been to a Nintendo Zone location, I've only gotten four StreetPasses. It's the same location, and I've tried staying longer, too.

Kind of blows, especially for Flower Town, where one visit to a Nintendo Zone could get me enough Street Passes for a new plant. But no more.

The number of passes you get is determined by the number of people that have been there since the last time you were there. You can't pass a relay tag more than once unless that person has physically revisited that location.

You had just been lucky all of those other times.

This can't be true. I get 6 passes religiously, every 8 hours, from my own pub, which is in the middle of nowhere. There is no way that many people with 3DSs pass by here in that time.

I think they changed it at some point to draft in Miis from anywhere to make up the numbers if the relay has less than 6 actual people.

I definitely get 6 every day from the initial relay.

:/

I know they said at one point that they were going to do something like linking all of the relays in areas with little traffic. I guess you guys have encountered those types of relays. The ones I encounter in NYC aren't like that.

It even feels like their are regional differences within countries.

In the West Midlands I had to try a lot harder. In the East Midlands I tag 10+ relays a day without even stopping.
