3DS Streetpass Experiences

Spent the weekend in Vegas and I got a total of 6 passes; 2 at the Cesar's Palace shops, 3 at a buffet, and 1 at the airport on the way home. With all of the people around there, I was expecting more of a turnout. At least it's better than nothing.

Got 2 hits at a pretty big mall (from a Swedish point of view) in my small town with 10k people. And guess what, both hits were Game employees.

This is so gonna fail for me. Need to hire more cats If I'm ever gonna complete that quest.

Took my 3DS out for the second time today. Got nothing at the mall (King of Prussia) or downtown until I was almost home (center city PHL). Blocks from my apartment I met Bob. Thanks Bob!

Looking forward to bringing this on my 1.5 mile walk to work every day. Hopefully as more people get the systems they'll also continue to carry them around.

I now have 2 hits , one from my cousin and the other from a 3DS at Play N Trade.

We just had a Play-N-Trade open. You're in Florida too so I assume it's a local chain? Are they any good?

Picked up a couple in downtown Toronto today. Went by Dundas Square as well, and they still had a single booth going for the 3DS demo.

People on the road in Texas must not have StreetPass turned on. I went to Austin from Houston on Saturday morning, went to dinner that night (so drove through Austin).

Just got back from Austin. Not a single streetpass encounter. I guess it only being out a week people probably don't even know about the feature yet.

Gonna go to Japan Fest in Houston on April 9th and hopefully get some streetpass encounters.

Your 3DS is probably gonna burn up. Make sure you put it in the back pocket.

I got 8 tags so far. Has anyone gotten weird greetings yet? I got a guy who said "I will end you," and his mii did look like a typical serial killer. Should I be freaked out? haha

Ended WonderCon with getting a good number of passes, and only ended up passing 2 people twice while everyone else was a unique hit. So I'm now at 131...after starting out from barely having any Miis in my Plaza.

Hopefully the next major one for me will be at Fanime...then Anime Expo.

I like them because they sell new games as well as retro games unlike Gamestop. The one that i go to has Saturn , PS1 , N64 , NES , SNES and even Atari 2600 games for sale.

I doubt you'd get a hit from someone if you were driving past each other.

Oh, I definitely have to check them out! Last time a game store not named GameStop opened around here, it was bought out by GameStop. :/

Their website also seems to have some good deals, along with the buy 1 get 1 for a penny deal this month...

Nice. Reasonable prices, right? Some game stores like to jack the prices up to unreal levels.

$5 each for the genesis games , with used games if you buy 2 you get the 3rd free. I think they just have to be from the same console.

Man, that's really good. Gotta go check mine out ASAP.

Nobody in LA owns a 3DS. I'm convinced.
You're looking in the wrong spots homie. I've had a couple in Little Tokyo the other day. Or just head to Third Street Promenade where they have 3DS tour going on. =P

But I thought the Japanese didn't buy any 3DSes. :-O

Okay, I'm going to hit up the Promenade this week for the sole purpose of getting a hit on my damn StreetPass before I give it up for good. I can't quit before getting one stupid Mii on my damn system. It's new and shiny and I want to use the feature.

Question to J-GAF: What are the options in the regional setting? I went to a big shopping center in Taiwan and got two guys from Japan again. I have the feeling these guys are probably Taiwanese with imported 3DS, and not actually Japanese guys.

I took my 3DS on sleep mode to work today and I was pleasantly surprised. I got 14 different Miis from people and one statue battle in Streetfighter 4.

The reason I was surprised is that I live in Adelaide, Australia and did not expect so many 3DS' out there already. I guess a lot of people bought this thing. Nintendo seem to have the golden touch at the moment.

The swapping of Miis and the way it's handled I thought is pretty cool. Even the Streetfighter statue battle thing is a nice touch. Just a nice bonus really when you get home.

I'm really liking my 3DS experience so far. Now for more games!

Oh, ffs. How can I not find one (1~!) in one of the most populated cities in the world? Fucking sprawl.

Please don't take this the wrong way but do you have Streetpass enabled in your Mii Plaza and seperately in your individual games?

I know it wasn't clearly evident to me to do that at first.

I don't have any games that use it, but I have what was posted by someone else earlier earlier:

StreetPass: Yes
Invite Mii: Yes
Rating: Receive (I don't even know what this is...)
Skip Greetings: No

:/

Got 19 tags at the Distant Worlds show in Brooklyn on Friday night, from people across 3 or 4 states, at least. I now have 5 or so puzzles started :)

I hit five people Friday night, went to a few places as usual for Friday night.. stopped by a GameStop next to the grocery store but only two of them were picked up there, that surprised me.

5 started!? How many puzzles are there, does anyone know?

I got my first yesterday just walking around town. I was just taking the dog out for a walk and decided to bring the DS so I could get the daily 10 coins. I was pretty excited about actually getting someone. Apparently the person lives close to me too, I only took a 25 minute walk and it told me I got it 20 minutes previously. I didn't physically pass many people so I must have picked it up from a house? I wonder what the range is on it, anyone know?

You're doing it wrong. I just got streetpassed on the 210 on my way to work this morning. :p

Where in LA are you?

I've had absolutely zero luck here in South Florida. Hopefully when I transfer to a big university in fall I'll be able to find people.

Some guy I met on streetpass told me to visit his website. I think that's the digital equivalent of being lured into a white van.

I see nothing wrong with that, hell mine gives my Twitter name.

You get to select your prefecture, or just Japan itself.

We had a Play-N-Trade open up in Toronto. It lasted about a year. They had an okay selection of older titles (although nothing like our three main mom 'n pop game shops), but their prices were pretty terrible.
