Nice! I got my 1000th StreetPass tag recently, too! I'm at 1074 now. A lot of them are just repeated tags from my boyfriend and our roommate, though. =p

Yeah, 10 is the max. Well, at first. Somehow, some people's limits (mine included) for StreetPass Mii Plaza have been raised to 99. As far as I know, no one has found out how to activate the upgrade. Some people get it, some people don't. It's weird.
 
is there a comprehensive 3DS street pass guide somewhere with all these facts? I guess I should load up DOAD to use all of my street pass presents.
 
Got all the puzzle pieces and Mii hats, now it kinda seems pointless to Streetpass, besides seeing the Miis. Maybe Nintendo can add more to it later.

I believe once you get 10 tags you have to go to the Plaza and greet them before you can get more.

Silly question -- are you sure it's the Mii Plaza streetpass that was upped to 99? I ask as the Music program handles up to 99 Streetpasses, but I wasn't aware of Mii Plaza doing that...

The music one is odd, actually -- I've gotten a few Music street passes without getting a Mii Plaza streetpass from the same user. The Miis still appear in Mii Plaza, but with lesser detail and noting that they were from "invite" or something like that.

And yeah, that's happened to me a lot, too. Sometimes I'll only get, say, someone's Street Fighter or nintendogs StreetPass, but not their Mii in StreetPass Mii Plaza. I believe this is because each title that transmits StreetPass data does so separately, so if the connection is somehow interrupted during StreetPass data exchange, you may end up missing some StreetPass data. That's just my speculation, though. I've also encountered a few other weird things, like people getting my Mii through StreetPass Mii Plaza but I wouldn't get theirs.

And the invite thing is from Miis that aren't obtained directly through StreetPass Mii Plaza, but through other StreetPass titles. So, say someone plays nintendogs + cats using a Mii that's different from their StreetPass Mii Plaza Mii. If you StreetPass that person, you'll get both Miis, with the one from nintendogs + cats appearing in your Mii Plaza through invitation.
 
On 9/17, Nintendo and GameStop have partnered to launch a program in all stores called Nintendo 3DS connect + play. The idea of this program is to provide a meeting place for all Nintendo 3DS owners – a place where they can get together and play Nintendo 3DS multiplayer games (like Star Fox 64 3D),and exchange content via the system's built-in StreetPass feature (such as Mii characters, game stats, and custom characters).

These events will take place every Saturday, in all GameStop stores from 1:00 to 4:00pm. On select Saturday's between now and Christmas, Nintendo’s NMI representatives will visit select stores. During their visits, they will have extra Nintendo 3DS HW systems and Nintendo 3DS games, so that non-Nintendo 3DS owners who are in the store, can try out the system and existing Nintendo 3DS owners can sample new games!

I bought my 3DS in Japan some 3 days before going to Singapore and got 17 street passes. But here in Singapore I have yet to get one single streetpass. This country SUCKS! :P

Can't wait to get back to Japan in 3 weeks so I can start getting more streetpasses...
 
went to London over the weekend and got 11 Streetpasses, and 3 more in Brighton. Before that weekend I had only had three altogether. I guess being in a city does help.

It did feel kind of dirty, though. Streetpassing in Brighton sounds much different from what it is.

Sweet! So we no longer have to clear our streetpass gate with every ten visitors? That will help a lot if I ever get myself to a convention.

Well, some people. Not everyone is getting the update for some reason. I've tried to figure out exactly what triggers this update, but I haven't had any luck. Even if your system is up to date, you may not have this StreetPass Mii Plaza update. It's a mystery.
 
Aww man. I really wanna go to that Gamestop event but I have such social axiety. Apparently walking past someone with a streetpass is ok but going in, talking, and playing games and I get all nervous.

Maybe I'll just drive by and see if I get any streetpasses...but that defeats the purpose of my axiety lol.

Theres more than just one reason I have axiety, I really don't know how to start a conversation or continue (tho if someone else starts a conversation I can usually continue it...kinda...) I also don't want anyone to see that I have a girl Mii lol (I'm transgender but out to noone except my parents and deffinitly don't go out as a girl yet...not to mention that I have my legs shaved but not my arms or face...I look like a mess! Plus im fat)

On the other hand I really NEED to get out. But if I go it'll be even more embaressing since my mom has to go (no driver's liscense. The reason? I'm to scared of hitting stuff lolz) (I probably wouldn't stay long anywayz)

Sorry for my longish rant about mylife, I just really wanna go and maybe meet other gamers. But it looks like its every Saturday this year so I have plenty of time and the notice went up on the gamestop website like 1 day before the actual event. Noone is probably there anyway.

Btw I have only ever gotten two streetpasses. On OoT's launch day.

You're attending an event likely to attract people that have the same hobby as you (vidjamagames), so that should be an easy ice break. 'What have you been playing lately', etc. Tell your mom to head out and buy a coffee, or something while you mingle for a few minutes.
 
So who decided to head to a Gamestop today? I woke up like 30mins ago, and I live in the Eastern time zone, so I have like 30mins left to decide to drop by one lol

At PAX by the time I was finished with my 10, I would already have 6 more tags.

I guess it might activate for people with a high ammount of StreetPass hits per day only to make sure they don't miss any while leaving the 10 cap to people with fewer hits to still make them interested on the thing instead of hoarding dozens of hits without clearing them.

That's what I thought, too. But some of my friends and people from my StreetPass group, who also get a lot of StreetPasses, don't have it. It's seemingly random. I have no idea what triggers it.
 
Had five pass hits today walking on Queen West and Yonge. This is about the upper limit of passes I'll get in one day in Toronto, although I've reached 7-8 during TIFF last week.

My best guess is that the update wasn't supposed to be released yet and a few lucky ones (probably those who updated as soon as the last update was out) got the 99 upgrade.

When the next big Firmware Update hits in November, everyone will have the limit upgrade.

Also, went to the mall today and it wasn't crowded at all, but I still got 3 hits, all with new people. It seems the effects of the price cut are kicking in.

When I say "update", I don't mean a system update. I'm not even sure if it's linked to a system update or not. Some people's StreetPass limit has just randomly changed from 10 to 99. One of my friends even called Nintendo about it, and they didn't even know.
 
Well I have been meeting up with people, plus getting more random Streetpass tags, and here is where I am at now:

Tags: 1497
Miis: 839

I still keep seeing people from NY complain about not getting tags, even when they go to Nintendo World Store or Toys R Us in Times Square. I think it's best to go on Fridays or Weekends, especially whenever there are events. Speaking of events, StreetpassNYC is hosting something on October 2nd, which involves Tetris Axis. After that, New York Comic Con/Anime Festival (Friday-Sunday). Bring your 3DS's there while Streetpass is on!
 
Got my ticket for Detroit Fanfare this weekend, will see how this goes

And it looks like I won't be getting any autographs from the guests unless I buy an autograph ticket so.....no autographs for me :/
 
Visited hong kong during the weekends for 4 days and pretty much had my 3ds on standby almost during the entire duration of my trip. I got a total of 2 streetpasses lol
 
Back from convention:

Over 10 tags (10 original [2 tagged twice], 1 repeat)
Got my 100th tag
Completed my 4th puzzle panel (Kirby)
Beat Find Mii for the first time (took 160 total heroes!)
 
I went to ironically a Sony event here in Austin and got 5 streetpass tags.. I'd had 5 total since I got the 3DS on day 1. Lol.
 
I get a streepass hit from my brother at least once a day. Sometimes twice a day. I have no idea if there's a way to keep from getting streetpassed by him without turning off wireless.

Also, awesome about the 99 thing. I had so many at PAX and could have had so many more if they'd upped the amount you could have before looking.
 
So how do I get passed the Ghost with a yellow shelid? It keeps saying use a mii with a yellow sword and I do but it always just reflects...

Also - how do I get more hats?

You need someone wearing a yellow shirt (don't matter if it's a Mii or cat) to hit the yellow shield to destroy it. You'll encounter other ghosts with different color shields and you'll need a hero with the same color shirt to hit the corresponding shield

And you get more hats as your progress in the game. You won't get all the hats if you beat Find Mii just once so you'll have to go through the entire thing again to unlock all the hats

EDIT: Didn't get many tags from the 2nd, and final, day of the comic book convention. Close to finishing up the Pikmin puzzle panel, but who knows when that will be done
 
Did anyone take their 3DS to TGS? I went on Sunday and grabbed 58 Miis. (Though I only checked it while chillin in line or eating the weird Dominos Pizza.....probabably coulda got more if I was more consistent...but meh)

Totally pulled out the 3DS in the Vita line
 
There will be lots of 3DS owners at NY Comic Con this year, so if you live within the North East, and you're attending, people will be there.

Edit: There is a launch party for Tetris Axis at Nintendo World store from 12 - 5 PM tomorrow in New York City. There will be Tournament for both Tetris Axis and Tetris DS. To enter in the Tetirs Axis Tournament you need only to have a Nintendo 3DS for Download Play. Likewise, to enter in the Tetris DS Tournament you must have a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS/DSi/XL for Download Play.

the weird part is that I've got em all at home. And my home isn't under the London Bridge
 
Yesterday I got my first three street passes while at the mall here in Miami. Two from local people and one from Brazil.
 
I got my 11th (I think) Street Pass last night. Went out for Nuit Blanche. Huge crowds. Only got one. :P At least I can finally spend these 300 coins on puzzle pieces.
 
I still only have two StreetPasses, both from shortly after the price drop.

I've gotten all 16 hats from Find Mii with mostly just coins, but Puzzle Swap is proving to be a problem. I have two completed puzzles, and now my coins are just piling up because I can't unlock any more pieces without first getting the puzzles unlocked through StreetPass.

I wish I had known from the beginning that I can't start a new puzzle with play coins. I've gotten 11 street passes but I used most of them to get pieces for my first puzzle, and now I only have four puzzles started.
