3DS Streetpass Experiences

I love the Streetpass in Super Mario 3D Land. The mystery boxes are meh, but trading stage completion times is great. There's someone who must be in one of my classes that also has the game and is trying to complete stages quickly. Our times are always within a few seconds of each other. Some of mine are better, and vice versa. I don't even know who the guy is, but it's almost like we're rivals.

I've been consistently getting the same two or three people when I go to Physics/CompSci lectures. I'm stuck on the shield ghost in Streetpass Quest because none of them are light blue; I'm slowly wearing away at it with a red one's magic attack. I'm trying to beat it without hiring mercenaries this time.

Got my first true streetpass ever (besides when we got a used 3DS to use as a future gift). I presumably got it while at McDonalds.

The message I got was "live long and suck hard". It's like an unfortunate fortune cookie!

I streetpassed the Walmart demo once, but not the Best Buy one when I tried the Mario Land demo. I know I got the Walmart one because it said the person was playing the Asphalt 3D demo version, which is what the demo unit was playing.

Today I got a streetpass at GameStop while getting Zelda. It was Link from Georgia. >_> The person had chosen a Link Mii for Streetpass. I got a Mario Land secret box, but he did not have any new puzzle pieces. I've streetpassed 5 people now and the only puzzles I have are Samus, Link, and Mario & Yoshi. No one ever has anything new.

I also had my first genuine StreetPass moment today. I was walking around the Trafford Centre in Manchester for several hours with my 3DS in sleep mode the whole time. This being a monstrously busy Sunday afternoon, just 2 days after Mario 3D Land came out I thought it'd be a safe bet that I'd get a few Mii's.

I got one. Just one. Nintendo needs to let people know that their 3DS can do this sort of thing if they ever want people to use it as intended.

Well, the system does tell you about Streetpass when you first get it and every game asks if you want to turn it on. If you somehow miss that then you're just not even trying to read.

Just got my first StreetPass for SM3DL. I actually got about five SPs, but only one had the game, as I have his time in several stages (although I have a better time on most).

I really hope more later games let you get StreetPass stuff even if the other person doesn't have the game.

Street passes are so spotty with this thing. I have one friend with a 3DS that brings it with him every time we meet up and we only ever streetpass about 20% of the time.

It kind of just chucks that and other explanations into the notifications menu. it's not surprising that people would gloss over that and the other instructions in there.

I'm going to NY on Friday and I really hope the 3DS system update comes out before then so I can use whatever StreetPass hits I get in NY for Find Mii 2 and the new puzzles. Here at home (in VA) it's hard getting a hit unless I take it my 3DS with me to some stores or to my community college... but even then it's like 1 StreetPass if I get any.

I hope the update includes more than one streetpass minigame and stuff that uses play coins or Picross E gets a release date.

The puzzle and 'rpg' games were the only reasons I didn't play DS games (specifically Picross 3D) on my 3DS.

I went to a Zelda pre-launch event on Friday and got a nice handful of streetpasses. Five for Mii Plaza, two for 3DS Sound, three for Super Mario 3D Land, and two for Pokemon Rumble Blast. Apparently I would have gotten a ton more if I had picked up my own copy of Zelda instead of getting sick and sending a surrogate out for it. It was the event EvilMario went to. :P

Now I'm one piece away from completing each of my last two puzzles, Pikmin and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Maybe I should stop spending my play coins on them. :P

As of just now, I've finished every puzzle and all of the levels in Find Mii. With 25 street passes and a ton of play coins. :P

Today was the first time I took my 3DS with me and I got 3 Mii's and one new level in 3D Land in only two hours. That's actually kinda amazing considering the town I live in and the time of the day I was out.

I'm starting to get more and more random tags (from people I haven't found before) since SM3DL launched. It will get crazy after Mario Kart 7 and especially Xmas.

I can conclude that those who attend the Royal College of Music and those wait outside the Royal Albert Hall for their show to begin do not use 3DSs after I git zero streetpasses last night.

Back in September I took my 3DS out and got 3/4 Mii's. Felt good. First time I ever used the whole StreetPass thing since getting the console on day one.

Yeah, the rate has definitely picked up with Mario out.

I have 3 tiles left of my last puzzle (Kirby) and I'm currently in the process of fighting the final boss of my second play through of Find Mii (I have all the hats except for one).

There is one guy on my commute (no idea who it is) that I tagged for the 5th time yesterday. It is so much fun going into Find Mii with a crusher.

Living in NYC, I'm always amazed at how few tags I get in crowded areas. I live in Williamsburg and I don't think I've gotten a single tag in my neighborhood. The only places I can consistently get tags are Times Square and Nintendo World.

I haven't met my level 7 hero for days. I need him (her? It's a female Mii with a moustache) to beat the first armoured ghost :(

Where do you see his times?

I have some questions

1. Super Mario 3D Land - how does StreetPass work if you have two people sharing the same physical cartridge but they have their own separate game save slots and play the game on their own 3DS? How does it differentiate between the two save slots when doing StreetPass? Therefore what data is transferred?

2. I noticed that people refer the same gamemode as StreetPass Quest or Find Mii. Is this named differently depending on the country?

3. Hiring a hero - on my 3DS when I hire a hero I always get Cats. However a friend from the same country has Dogs appear! Is this random and are there other types?

I'm really looking forward to the added StreetPass update. I've got a bit bored of it since completing all my Puzzle Swaps in one hit at the London Zelda concert!

1. I believe it says when you turn on street pass for Mario that it states it will use the last save that was accessed.

2. I want to say it's called find mii for everyone and maybe streetpass quest is what we call it

3. when you make your mii and fill out it's info one of the questions asked was do you prefer cats or dogs

Took my 3DS with me today and got another two hits. One was the same guy from yesterday and he leveld up. It's definitely interesting what they are doing with streetpass, but they could also do so much more with it. I hope there will be some cool games in the future that step in and have some cool and engaging streetpass features.

For fun, I'm going to predict the next batch of StreetPass puzzles (assuming another set of 7).

- Donkey Kong (already confirmed)
- Mario Kart
- Luigi's Mansion
- Zelda (Four Swords style)
- Kid Icarus
- Pokemon
- Fire Emblem (eh, why not?)

Heh, something cool happened to me yesterday. The guy sitting by my side at the bus also had the 3DS, and we were both playing SM3DL at the very same point in the game (World 7-Boss) so we started rushing to see who could get further during the trip. He beat me reaching 8-5, I still was at 8-4 :P

There was also another girl on the bus playing according to the Mii Plaza but we couldn't locate her.

May I ask where you are from? Three 3DS player in one bus, must be streetpass heaven!

Heading to Times Square tomorrow, and also Nintendo World... hope I get a bunch of hits! It's too bad the new firmware didn't come out before I went since I've already completed everything, but oh well.
