3DS Streetpass Experiences

Anyway, what I want to know is that if MY game's queue is full, will somebody else get my data or is it always a one to one trade?
No. If you've maxed out your StreetPass tags in a particular title, you won't be able to exchange StreetPass data with anyone else until you clear your tags.

It's really annoying when people at conventions and other big events don't bother to check their 3DSes, and their StreetPass Mii Plaza (and/or other titles) gets maxed out and no one else can get their Mii (or whatever StreetPass data is exchanged for the title). If they have other StreetPass-enabled titles that aren't maxed out, they'll still exchange that data, but you won't be seeing their Mii in your Plaza (unless you get it from another title via Invite Mii, but that doesn't count as a StreetPass tag for Mii Plaza and you can't use the Mii in Puzzle Swap or Find Mii). That's why it's so important to check your StreetPass tags regularly at huge events like that.

No, any application that is 10/10 will not collect any more data until the queue is cleared.

Different applications can have different queue sizes (for example, Theatrhythm has a queue size of 30).
I thought BatDan was just talking about the Mii Plaza.

I don't believe that's true. I'm pretty sure at PAX East I rarely cleared my Mario Kart 7 tags but new Miis still showed up in my Plaza.

I wen to McDonalds (in Japan) for that stupid picture you get, and I couldn't connect to Nintendo Zone on my floor (I was on the (US) 3rd floor). Tons of kids on the 2nd floor with their 3DS's out, and I didn't want to go down just to use my 3DS.

I wonder if I can do what I gotta do outside the McDonalds near my house in the boonies.

Why not just stand on the 2nd floor and do your business? LOL.

Potions have a random chance to fail and not do anything.

Which is annoying when they do, but the potion works most of the time, by far.

It is when I saw this that I realised that Streetpass Plaza is an elaborate trolling app from Nintendo.

It is a huge grindfest. Never seen Nintendo do such a ridiculous level of monotonous grinding in a game before (if you want all the hats). Guess they wanted Find Mii II/Secret Quest to last for years to finish it with normal use, but that's just ridiculous for those of use who like to finish games fairly quickly and move on.

Use the potion to get rid of it. Well worth the play coins.
Sorted. Now, fuck those ambushing mummies. Especially when I'm getting one StreetPass a day. I tried to hire level 1 dog to take the ambush before I streetpassed, but it seemed to disappear once I was tagged and sent the mii out! Am I gonna get scared away every time?

I think the StreetPassed Mii's always go first. The hired Mii's go in the order that you hired them, though. You can use Vial of Valor to call back three Mii's that have left, at a time.

There is a small chance that a Mii won't get scared by a mummy. Also the order of the team you take into battle is the order you got them in, so if you hire a wanderer after your streetpassed Miis the Miis will still go first and face the mummy. If you hire a wanderer first then quit out of the app without using it to get a streepass the wanderer will be gone since you have to use it when you get it.
The best way to deal with mummies aside from waiting for multiple streetpasses or the rare chance that the Mii won't get scared is to get your one streetpass for that day then use your coins to rehire the highest level Mii you have and just whittle it down each day.

I don't think you understood what I meant. You got it the other way around. You were checking your StreetPass Mii Plaza, not your Mario Kart 7. I meant the opposite. If other StreetPass-enabled titles aren't maxed out, but your Plaza is, you'll still get tags from people in those titles that aren't maxed out, but you won't be getting a StreetPass tag in the Mii Plaza.

Tried it twice so far since I bought it on Sept. 1. First time was a quick jaunt to the supermarket, maybe half an hour total trip time. Number of streetpasses: 0.

Second time I took it on the subway and bus, passing two elementary schools during lunch hour. Total trip time was about two hours. Number of streetpasses: 0.

Seriously, is the only way to get passes at cons?

I live in Toronto and take my 3DS on the subway wherever I go and I get between 1-5 street passes each time.
Actually now that I think of it, there hasn't even been one time yet where I've got zero.
(I've only had the console for two weeks though so I'm sure it will change)

I work IT in a busy college and I barely get 1 or 2 a day, even if I walk around the mall before going home. I move around a lot too, average 15-17k steps a day.

Also this Kirby hat looks like he's teabagging my forehead.

I'm from there too...guess I'm just not as lucky as you.

I was at 0 before PAX, now at 200 with all puzzles done and the dungeon game about done.

I was on the low side too, I just couldn't take the thing out every 10 people to add them. I really wish the queue was 100 or something.

I used to get at least 3 at shopping mall

Last weekend I tried at the center of the City (Monterrey) and I got like 6 Mii Plaza
and total of 14 in other games!!

I hope to be lucky on the airport next week I'll travel!

Well beaten the first quest on Mii Quest 2 twice so one more round and I should have all the hats it has to offer.

Travelled down south (in the UK) a fair bit yesterday. Got 4 hits, which isn't many but of those 4, one one was from Canada, another from the the US and the final was from Scotland. So I got 3 regions and 2 countries added to my map! Makes me wish the maps were interactive, so you could zoom out for a continent style map, and then to a world map. And/or have a world map/globe.

Also meant I completed the Pikmin puzzle and got all pink pieces of the DK:CR puzzle.

When you get 10 hits, do you just have to launch MiiPlaza to clear the queue, or do you have go through the Puzzles and MiiQuestions games?

Spent two days at the Olympic Park here in the UK. Expected lots of streetpasses, given that there were 1 million people in the same area. But, I only got 8. On the plus side, they all had Kirby 25th / NSMB 2 pink puzzle pieces.

You start filling up a new queue as soon as you see the plaza gate.

At PAX East I would literally have 10 people already at the gate by the time I was finished greeting the previous 10.

Can anyone explain why Nintendo couldn't be bothered having regional maps for each country? Or have I already answered my own question? Very annoying and lazy on their part.

so true, western europe mostly gets one, nothing for Ireland...south america looks non-existent. no idea why, it is indeed lazy.

okay, so i just beat Find Mii 2 again, and got the secret key, unlocked the path at the bottom - is this the hidden one you guys talked about for beating the boss in so many tries or what? really hoping i fulfilled that requirement so i can just concentrate on the last 3 or 4 or whatver paths now

yeah, it turns out i unlocked the door at the end of secret quests' bottom path, not the one at the start. which one did i get? found this online:

Here's summary of the Find Mii II keys and how to get them.

Normal Quest
Bronze Key - beat the Normal Quest twice. Key is awarded after the credits.

Secret Quest
Silver Key - beat the Rampaging Mummy at the Diabolical Altar - Front. From the beginning of the secret quest: Beat the first two rooms. Then take lower path. Beat the next two rooms. Then take lower path again. Now beat the following two rooms and the next room will be the Diabolical Altar where you face a giant-sized mummy (Rampaging Mummy). Someone made a map of the secret quest that you can find by Google searching "find mii secret quest map." It's room 19 on that map.

Secret Quest
Gold Key - beat final boss with 25 Miis or less. Key is awarded after the credits.

so, i beat find mii 2 vanilla once, and secret quest once. started secret quest again...any ideas here for the other key?

Went to a birthday party near a theatre, went to watch a movie at a different theatre, walked around two malls (fun to just walk around a mall sometimes), and was driving by lots of people going to a college football game. First StreetPass I got was when I got back near where my OG 3DS was at. This area stinks for getting StreetPass hits.

A major LAN party happened last night at my university, so I brought my 3DS along with me. I placed a semi-trollish note on my little Mii. I am expecting the majority of people (students) who streetpassed me to become fussy when they see my note.

Oh yeah, the point of this post, I got eight streetpasses last night. Feels good.

Is there a reason that I cannot hire my other 3DS's mii in streetpass plaza? I have a level 7 mii from my launch unit that I streetpass three times a day. But she doesn't show up in the group of miis available to hire (my Old Allies). Everyone else I've passed does though...

One hat left.. and under 20 puzzle pieces. Oh boy.

Just had to enter a room with not one, but TWO, light green slimes in Find Mii II

UGH!

Light Green / Lime green magic. It'll put them to sleep and give you more chances to hit. One of the only strategies I've found against them.

Got 7 streetpasses over the weekend. Even managed to get a streetpass hit for the M&S card album which was surprising. However I got a card I already had.

No new puzzles completed but I finally started working on getting the pink KI:U pieces.

I always get so disappointed when I see that my coworkers either didn't bring their 3DS to work with them or that they didn't walk close enough to my desk for our 3DSs to tag each other.

I got moved my desk moved though and now I get tonnes of passes from coworkers I've never even met yet. I don't like when people don't use their real names for their Miis! :c

ah, thanks man! yeah, few posts back, i was asking which key i got/needed for having finished the secret quest, all i know is the 2nd lock (closest to the goal) is open but not the first one, at the bottom path. did i get the generic key for beating secret quest? i still gotta get the other one (for beating the boss in less than 25 miis or something?), yeah? lemme know, im on secret quest again but im saving my coins to gang up with lvl 7 guys at the final fight if i need to!

I use my XBox/PSN gamer tag as my name, I figure somebody could actually look me up that way. Not that it would matter, the Mii context is so goofy. Can you picture it? 'Oh Man, another Mii that likes dogs more than cats! This guy must be so cool, I need to game with him!' YaRite.

I took my 3DS to the Detroit Lions game with me today. Season opener, stadium seats 65,000. I got one tag. Granted, not exactly a mecca of handheld gaming, but... ONE tag?

The one in the bottom left corner is just gotten by winning multiple times iirc. The one in the bottom right is needed for 20 (25?) or less on the final boss. I can verify rehiring 1 level 7 Mii over and over will get the job done.

Just thought this was a funny random puzzle piece collecting progression.

So wait a second. I always thought that i wasn't allowed to use more than 20(25) miis in general.
But your post makes it sound like rehirering one mii over and over again does only count as one.
so, going in, slash the enemy, exit to quest menu, rehire the same lvl 7 mii, continue quest, slash enemy again....and so on, only counts as one mii?
i need to know that, 'cause i fucked up the second silver key twice now. :P

man, i hope you're right! i literally kept streetpassing my chick so id just use her mii, which is of course lvl 7. but if ive won both find mii 2 vanilla and secret quest once each, why woudln't i have the key for the bottom right yet then?
