3DS Streetpass Experiences

now where the hell is the Zelda LBW puzzle, eh Nintendo?

It is not like the game is based on framed pictures or something

New Streetpass Puzzle in America! Chibi Robo!

Also, fuck yeah Virtual Boy googles ;D

I bet we won't get that Chibi Robo puzzle over here in Europe given we're not even getting the actual Chibi Robo game. :(

I have about 1000 encounters.
But I work and live in Zurich so I get at leat 1-2 every day on my way to work
And I got a shitload amount at Gamescom 2013

No blue light before I left home, and no blue light at McDonalds this morning even though I was there long enough to get relay passes. I ended up adding my 3DS to Wi-Fi here at work and now I've got it, but I've never had this much trouble getting a SpotPass update before.

On a positive note - 100% plaza tickets on 3/4 of the DLC games! Finished the last job I needed for Flower Town ("Welcome Home" - just turned in exactly what I turned in for "The Dude's Wish" since I have like 10 of them breeded now) and got the 100th peaceful monarch greeting over MAGFest weekend.

Well, I'm gonna order a pair of trigger ribbon/mechanism replacements. I took my 3DS apart last week figuring there would be a bad lint buildup on the contacts or something... nope. The internal buttons just don't work. I have no idea why it happened on both sides, R first for a long time, then L. But it's pretty much impossible to play Mii Force or Monster Manor without them. Not to mention actual 3DS games.

That's weird.

For what it's worth I didn't get it until I hit the wi-fi at my work this morning.

Typical progress...about 40 puzzle pieces away from finishing that...then I'll have nothing to spend my play coins on (whats worst is the pieces missing are fairly evenly distributed between the puzzles).

I'm sure a thread was made for this (or maybe it was already posted) but anyone who missed it Kotaku did an interview with the developers. They asked the key questions; why does Mendel talk so much and the queue limited to 10.

I get them somewhat frequently but I have no idea WTF they do aside from MiiPlaza. I see Pokemon ones but then I launch Pokemon and can't find anything in the game about it.
I don't think it was mentioned but you have to use the holo caster. Not the one in the key items, the one in the PSS menu on the bottom screen.

Don't understand why we only get one new puzzle and it's for Chibi Robo, not Super Mario 3D World or A Link Between Worlds.

Because the Chibi Robo puzzle was released in Japan months ago. At least we know there's a Kirby Triple Deluxe puzzle so we'll be getting that within the next couple months probably.

It's likely then you're the only one to come by in a while who's had a 3ds on them.

I think I'm gonna pick up Flower Town soon-ish. Even though I haven't finished Mii Force 100%, I'm getting a little burned out. Just takes too long to finish a round and it's starting to feel very repetitive. I had fun with the game, but it's time to move on.

Unless someone wants to try and convince me to grab one of the other two games instead...

Mii Force Sucks.

Flower Town is okay.

Best ones imo are the army one and monster manor.

Nah, Flower Town takes a bit to pick up but gets good. Monster Manor is S-tier goodness. Warrior's Way is way too dependent on Streetpass people having the game or you will spend a lot of your time just adding to your army and not much time battling.

I only need one more ticket for Mii Force (get all titles...which isn't hard, I got like 22 left) and one more for Flower Town (60 plants...I'm at 57). Monster Manner will take a bit cuz I need puzzle boxes (what ARE these?), floor 30 (5 more), like 3 more team ups, and who knows how many weapons? Just need to fight a shit ton of street passers to get Warrior's Way done, I've only battled like 35ish.

I haven't played Pokemon in ages, so I have accumulated loads of (useless) streetpasses.

Time to cash them all in to see how many Pokemiles I get! (89 passes for 231pm).

...

If nothing else, I like games that keep track of the total number of passes you have.

Plaza - 1129
Mario Kart - 388
Animal Crossing - between 300 and 1000
Pokemon - 287
Monster Hunter 3 - 282

It should be noted battle/warriors difficulty is scaled to your army strength. You can beat and battle you enter with the army you started it with. It requires you to take risks (until you unlock spying). I'd personally use the ragequit trick to avoid losing (if you home button out of the game the loss won't count so you don't lose troops but the game will nag at you, next time do nothing otherwise trying to ragequit again costs you 10% of your army).

It'll still be a bit annoying even after that, especially with the final boss which completely changes the mechanics...

Basically it is a game that works best if you pass one person at a time which goes contrary to the rest of the games.

Search the thread for a better explanation but make rooms which contain Miis who have:
-been passed more than once (any puzzle box)
-played the game (don't team up, puzzle box they have beaten)
Appear in completed rooms (they can appear after you have placed thier piece down so say I have a Mii and a wanderer, use the Mii first then make a room with the wanderer).

It is one where you benefit from people not owning the game if many players are much earlier than you so have fewer puzzle boxes.

22 tickets on Flower Town! Yay!

Nothing more frustrating than getting hit in Mii Force when you're about to beat the boss.

So I'm gonna be a while to finish this one :(

Any tips for arcade mode in Mii Force?

I only just got the final ticket for the main mode (those damn gems) and now I've moved over to arcade. I was surprised at first that you only get a few Miis per level. I'm used to playing with 7-10 Miis at a time so this has forced me to play completely differently. I was also really surprised at how long my play session ended up being. I don't know what I was expecting, but it seems that I will have to set aside a full hour before I attempt to tackle it again.

So, post WDW trip, I got 4 new regions in Japan (totaling 8), 1 new region in Canada (totaling 8), 14 new regions in the US (totaling 32), and 1 new region in the Netherlands (totaling 1)! And a bunch of other new countries too which don't have subdivisions here.

Overall, pretty good haul! Probably could've gotten more too, but there wasn't nearly enough downtime at the parks for me to keep plowing through my tags.

The strategy I used was 2 Light Greens and 1 Light Blue. I put the Light Greens on the outside and the Light Blue in the middle. Other than that it's all skill.

Do you ever get more than 3 at a time? If you come in with 10 Miis, how are they distributed to you? I know that you get 3 in the first level but I haven't played it enough to have a clear picture after that. Do you only get more as you take damage? Or can you get more if you survive through a sufficient number of levels?

I don't seem to get StreetPasses anymore. I've connected to two different Nintendo Zones, one on multiple occasions, and I haven't gotten anything. I want to play those damn Mii Plaza games :(

How is your 3DS setup when you are at the Nintendo Zones?

This continues to be a sort of controversial topic, but Nintendo Zone passes seem to work best if you are on the home screen with no software running (with the lid shut).

I've had it closed and opened, both did nothing. I just tried at a third NZ and still nothing. I have a bunch of streetpasses in actual games that I haven't acknowledged yet...could that be it?

No, those have no impact. Have you tried fully powering down your 3DS? I've done that before, but then again, it may not do anything. I think some Nintendo Zones are non-functional at times though; I've run into one case where it would not work even after like 20 minutes.

One of the Starbucks I streetpass with gives me a hit in under a minute during business hours. When I am out in the middle of the night at say 1 or 2 AM, I get nothing so I believe in the non functioning at times idea.

Regarding the non-functioning theory, you can check if the Nintendo Zone is active on the 3DS home screen. Even when it is active though, I've had it take up to 5 minutes to get a tag and sometimes it simply doesn't work. There is one McDonald's near where I live that I specifically visited twice to get street passes. Both times I was able to get a Nintendo Zone signal and yet, even after spending more that ten minutes there each time, I did not get tags.

Are you sure? I've never gotten a single NZ relay tag with the screen open (though I have gotten normal street pass tags on the subway with the lid open). Also, I for sure can't get relay tags when running some specific software (which has lead me to have no software running if I'm trying to get tags).

Regarding restarting the system, I have heard people speculate about this but I've never heard a specific answer.

Last week I got the green light while I was pushing people through the plaza gate. First time I had ever seen that happen with the system open.

Anyone? (relates to arcade mode in Mii Force)

Tried changing Mii outfit? Sometimes with low battery it bugs out.

Also some software disables internet access when in use (3DS sound is one of these, I have to decide; podcasts or plaza hits). There is also some Nintendo zones plain don't work properly (being able to detect it is one thing but actual Internet access might not function).

Ended up finishing all 30 puzzles I had this previous weekend at a convention. Only to be handed a new one today.

It's like Nintendo knew.

Its been a while since I finished it but you definitely have more than 3 ships, I vaguely recall you get a further ship every 3 (I think) sub-levels
Thanks. I guess I can figure out for sure by just playing more. I'll just use coins to take a good mix into arcade mode I'll just see what happens.
