"Saying he wouldn't work with a rapper is like saying he wouldn't work with Will Smith, Queen Latifah or Ice Cube. Basically, he didn't want to play second fiddle. He knew that because of my success, people would come to see the movie because of me - and he couldn't handle that...To be honest, I couldn't see where he would fit into the movie anyway - other than as my grandfather."

Welcome beautful toddler, Madison Elizabeth, to the horde!
Normally, as in this case, he is seemingly talking stupid, but there is a point to what he is saying

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
maybe that's not what he really said... God knows I can't ever understand a word that he says or raps... :lol

50's fifteen minutes expired a long time ago. He tries to take a page out of Madonna's playbook by doing whatever stupid thing he has to do to keep his face in the press. No way that Game shit wasn't staged to coincide with the album release. Guy's a wanker.

Chili Con Carnage!
Sam Jackson TURNED DOWN a role!??!

You know your movie is shit when even Samuel L Jackson doesn't want a part, i mean ffs, he even signed up for XXX2

Considering Samuel L. Jackson is the biggest box office actor of all time (before inflation of course), I fail to see his silly point. And since he's worked with Ashanti, Ice Cube, and LL Cool J (twice), his comment is only further diminished.

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
Not to derail or but why does samuel jackson always talk 'Jive' no matter what the movie or role is. I just crack up with him as a jive talking jedi! "We do not grant you the role of master sucka foo!"

Somewhat, but not as much as 50 Cent wants you to think. Sam Jackson said he didn't want to work with rappers who had not proven themselves. Except for Ashanti (who I believe he actually complained about, right?) the other rappers he's acted with had already established themselves in the medium. 50 Cent has not.

Jackson isn't exactly the pinnacle of standards, but all 50 Cent did was hone in on half of what Jackson said and ignored the important part, about those people have proven themselves as competent actors.

The only jive part of that is what you added. :/

I believe he complained about Ashanti because her entourage was a distraction. I doubt that he has anything against rappers and other muscians--his complaints were more about how one business can distract from the other.

50 cent is a fucking retard. Apparently he thinks this is another feud and he can just run his mouth like he's talking shit about Ja Rule or something.

The problem with this knuckle dragging behavior is that unlike the rap world, hollywood revolves 100% around politics. Talking shit about someone who's earned the respect of dozens of big name directors and actors for always being a professional and a joy to work with after you've signed on for your FIRST MOVIE, before it's even BEGUN FILMING is the hollywood equivelant of unloading a sawed off into your nose.

Well yeah, that's what I mean...Jackson obviously isn't above working with rappers who are serious about the acting craft. With someone like 50 Cent, I'm sure Jackson had a different view. And the immaturity displayed in his quote pretty much justifies Jackson's decision.

I'm not a 50 Cent hater persay, but in this case:

Samuel L Jackson > Taxes > Going bankrupt > German Measles > 50 Cent

hahaha 50 is a chump! I am a huge hip-hop fan, and I can't stand the guy.... not because he is famous or has money... I could care less about that, but because he has no skills...

I guess it's "true", but dude, that's bullshit, the success of the little 3 films that obviously give him that dubious title had nothing to do with him. I guess that cone-headed jedi from the star wars prequels is also the biggest box office actor of all time. :p

Who is 50 cents and why should I care? Also, does this mean that the missing formula to my success is simply acting like a petulant child? No wonder I didn't get that raise...

Hey, I'm just stating the facts...Lord knows this forum has a love affair with throwing around numbers of all kinds (specs, sales, whatever) to bolster their own flimsy arguments. Pointing out Jackson's box office success is simply my way of saying that he does just fine whether he's a lead or a second fiddle actor.

Should also point out that he was second fiddle to LL Cool J in Deep Blue Sea...so 50 is owned once again!!

What he is saying is this, the main draw of the movie would be 50. His LP did 1.2 million in 4 days. I don't like the shit, but that is far from having your 15 minutes up. He speaks his mind

When ol' Half Dollar has done something as indisputably COOL as Pulp Fiction, then he can talk shit. Until then he's just a half-bright thug with questionable mic skills, no matter how many fucking cds he sells. There are like literally 5,000 better mcs than fiddy. Shut the fuck up and thank God everyday that Dre and Eminem gave you a rub, you incomprehensible fucker.

Why do rappers always take stuff so personally and create vendettas and shit? The only acting 50Cent has done is pretending that he has talent.

I think Samuel Jacksons coolest role is in Jurassic Park. I loved him as a computer hacker.
I just recently watched JP again, and I forgot that he was in it.

It's funny when Hammond ask Jackson how many lines of code he has to go through:

Jackson: "About 2 millions" (takes cigg out of mouth :lol )

Funny thing is, Fiddy said his favorite rapper used to say "My favorite rapper used to sing, 'Check check out My Melody.'" Can't believe anyone who grew up liking Rakim as much as I, and it seems fiddy, could turn out to be such a mediocre rapper :(

50 cent has a big mouth. Seems like everytime I come into Off Topic there happens to be a thread about him dissing on someone. 50 vs The Game, 50 vs The Videogame industry, 50 vs Sam L Jackson. 50, shut your mouth.
