8BitDo’s controllers will work with the Switch 2 after a firmware update

Can confirm i updated my 8bitdo fightstick that i modded with sanwa parts.

Works like a charm.
Had to install beta drivers on both dongle and stick.

Streetfighter 6 works like a charm
 
I have exlusively used my Ultimate Bluetooth & 2.4g Controller on PC until now but it works perfectly on S2 now. Will not buy the stupid overpriced Pro Controller.
 
Just so everybody knows.

None of the 8bitdo controllers have the ability to turn the console on and most likely never will as not even the original pro controller can do it.
 
Guys, I'm in need of a NS2 joypad, which one should I get ? The official Nintendo one for 90 bucks...yeah, think I'll pass since it doesn't have HAL or TMR sticks.
Know fook and all when it comes to 8bit do...

No update for my SN30Pro+yet. I hope it gets one because I prefer it to the official Pro controller.

Thanks guys, I was already eyeballing at this specific one.
Gotta ask though, what are the differences between this and the Nintendo Pro2 besides the lack of 3.5mm jack ?
Does it have rumble ? If yes, I suppose it's not gonna be the "HD" one that Nintendo uses.
I don't care about the lack of NFC (Amiibo), so, what else will I be missing ?


And oh, another thing, where the heck can I get one in Europe ? Amazon only has the PC version for some reason ffs.

I bought the latest model a few months ago and ended up putting it in the closet. It's too small for my hands.
When I get the OLED Switch 2, I can give the controller another try.

+ 4 extra buttons on the Ultimate 2
+ Price
+ TMR sticks
+ Analog triggers
- IMO the simplicity of changing the paddles on the Pro is far superior and it's per game
- Cannot wake the Switch so you will have to hit the power button
- IMO the feel of the 8bitdo is inferior to the Pro. The texture on the Pro is great and the sticks are the smoothest sticks I've ever used in my entire life and make nearly no noise. Also the grip of the 8bitdo is too straight and hurts my wrists a bit more over time.

I bought the Pro controller but got it 15% off at target. I'm gonna order the Ultimate 2 (I owned the Ultimate 1 and didn't like it enough to replace my pro 1) and decide from there.

You can import from the UK if needed (seems to be pre-order, releasing on the 20th):
Or you could try their store on AliExpress, might be able to get it cheaper.

Make sure it's the one with Switch button config though, I don't think the other one works with Switch.
It has rumble, back paddles, 2 extra shoulder buttons and TMR sticks.

Moose, what about the Ultimate 2C ? It's just 30 Eurodollars and has both vibration and HAL effect sticks

Then, there's also the Pro 2 which also looks OK.

Thoughts ?
 
well not turning on the console is a bummer for sure, but other than that works perfectly

so... the SF30 Pro has a Switch 2 update, but the SF30 Pro+ doesn't? wtf? and guess which is the exact 8bitdo controller for Switch that I have? EXACTLY, the fucking SF30 Pro+ 😩

The ultimate 2C does have gyro from what I've seen, what I'd like to know is, how's the rumble function ? Is it well built ? Any known problems ? (read that the dpad is hit or miss).
This is half the price of the Ultimate 2 which is very enticing - especially since it has HAL effect sticks.
