Can someone clue me in on this joke about 9/9/9 and the Dreamcast 2? I never heard of the Dreamcast 2, and I don't recall threads about 8/8/8 or 7/7/7.
 
This thread reminds me that I had a dream last night that instead of releasing a new system. Sega re released the dreamcast which looked like a ps3 slim with urban camo.

Really? The OG Dreamcast came out in the States on 9/9/99. As long as I've been on this board it's been a meme that DC2 would be coming 9/9/09, despite any and all evidence to the contrary.

9/9/9 is Dreamcast 2 day

- Wake up at 5:00am because I'm so excited
- Shower, eat brush teeth
- 6:00am Play a song I wrote about Sega for an hour or so and upload it to YouTube
- 8:00am Head out to Game Stop, but I have to walk because I'm too excited to drive.
- 9:00am Arrive at Game Stop and be first in a mile long queue of people waiting for the Dreamcast 2
- High five the sales assistant as I purchase my Dreamcast 2 and have my photo taken with all the press that are gathered inside
- 2:00am finally turn off my Dreamcast because I'm so tired and I cannot take the awesomess much longer.
- 2:15am Lesbian porn in 3D
- 2:16am Clean up my sheets and go to bed
 
Hey guys! I just called Best Buy but the lady (as always) had no clue whether they're opening at midnight for the DreamCast 2 launch :(

Any chance we could organize regional meet-ups? It's not like anyone's going to work for the rest of the week.

It's already 9/9/9 here in Australia.
I'll be popping down to the shops to pick up a Dreamcast 2 in twenty minutes. They didn't have a midnight launch.

Sega would be dumb not to release some kind of statement on this day. It's free advertising and fanservice all in one.
 
I will probably be hunted down and killed or this - but I just tossed my Dreamcast out last Sunday. I was cleaning out my closet since it's getting packed and realized I haven't plugged the thing in since shortly after it was discontinued.

Maybe it's a hidden sign that I'm making room for Dreamcast 2 tomorrow.

I hate dealing with Ebay/auctions and getting things shipped out. Didn't think they were selling for too much to be worth the hassle.
