obviously the 9800 pro is the best but is it that much better than the 9600xt? and how is the 9600xt compared to the 9600? would a 9600xt be enough for doom3 and half-life2? i just wanna be able to play all the upcoming games i dont care if they arent at high settings i just wanna play them.

oh and do any of the all-in-wonder's capture in mpeg-4?

9600 = 50 %
9600 Pro = 90%
9800 Pro = 160%

Nope. ATI doesn't believe in MPEG4. I think they're on MPEG2 (DVD) right now, which really is the better solution for good video capture.

The 9800pro is quite a bit better than the 9600XT. I'm actually surprised that the 9600XT costs so much.

DO a couple of searches for benchmarks
