I was checking a DVD I bought and watched (without problems) for scratches and whatnot when tilting the disc in certain ways I noticed that the read side wasn't colored like a 'normal' DVD. It had stange areas where the color was different, lighter and darker stripes. It's hard to explain but this isn't the first time I've noticed this, I have a few other discs with this 'problem'.

It's not exactly a perfect description, but it's the best I can do.
Thing is, should I be worried that the disc is rotting from within or what, I've been trying to find an answer for this but so far I've found nothing.
