Jet Set Radio

Hell yes! Started over on this game again today. It's been quite some time since I played it, but it still rocks. It stands as one of the few Dreamcast games that has not been ported over to other consoles. Poor DC, you deserved so much better. :(

The Ultimate Dreamcast Collection

Jet Grind Radio (There is nothing like this game. More levels and music than JSR)
Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2 (get the 1st for the awesome music and Onslaught)
Sonic Adventure
Sword of Beserk
Crazy Taxi (Don't bother with CT2)
Power Stone (More of a fighting game than PS2. If you like Mario Party style games then get PS2 as well)
Re:CV
Chu Chu Rocket
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Last Blade 2
Re:Volt
Gunbird 2

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I got off the top of my head. Damn, Dreamcast sure has an awesome library of games!

Tell me about it... to this day I still consider the Dreamcast to have a better library in terms of quality than any of the other current generation consoles.

Man, I know that in some cases, the DC versions were the best...but it's kind of sad that most of those games are available elsewhere (as well as sequels).

you are very right.

Also, I don't know if you're buying the games or what (because this is expensive) but you need to find Cosmic Smash (japanese import) because it's so much fun.

I could have been...but it died too early.

Most of its best games went elsewhere and there just isn't enough there.

To the great stuff mentioned I would add:

Sega Rally 2
Daytona USA 2001
Rayman 2 (best version if you don't have it)
Mars Matrix
Bangai-O
Tech Romancer

Jet Set Radio (Probably my favorite game... EVER)
Berserk
Chu Chu Rocket
Sega Rally2
Crazy Taxi
Virtua Tennis
Powerstone
Skies of Arcadia
Grandia2
Ikaruga
Bangai-o
Mars Matrix
Cannon Spike
Gunbird2
Rez

Powerstone > Powerstone 2

I have to add that I agree with this 100%. I felt like the levels in the first game were just great for both single and multi-player matches. Something about it was just tuned better, IMO.

How about (not mentioned yet)...

Super Magnetic Niu Niu
MDK2 (the hardcore version)
Border Down

...I'm sure there are more, but I don't have my collection handy to refresh.

The European soundtrack was a big improvement on the American one. Kept J5 and Mixmaster Mike, ditched the rock stuff, and replaced it with stuff that suits JSR much better.

a vga box

borderdown
napple tale
Virtua tennis 2
chu chu rocket
soul calibur
Ikaruga

Yeah, I second Garou. It's unlikely we'll ever see the PS2 version here, so it's the most economical way to have the game except for emulation.

Is there any good place, besides ebay, to hunt down old Dreamcast games? Do ebgames and stuff generally have a good selection? I like my current crop of games, even have some I have yet to finish, but I would like to pick up a copy of Code Veronica (which I foolishly traded in for like $1 in credit), and maybe Power Stone.

If you don't care about whether there complete or not ebgames.com is a good source. They update frequently and I've seen stuff like Power Stone there recently for 12.99. It goes pretty fast, though. I just picked up Record of Lodoss War a couple of weeks ago.

Power Stone I can understand, but there is no reason to buy the US version of RECV for DC, unless you just have a hankerin' to play the DC version. The PS2 version suffered no downgrades and adds content.

Why do people list Berserk? It's a really subpar game.

Yeah man i thought that two when i borrowed my friends dreamcast i thought it was awesome but when i played it recently i could barely stay awake through the first level.

Virtual On Oratorio Tangram.

Greatest thing Sega has ever done.

To tell the truth that is the first game i have ever played that made me feel like i was controlling a robot PLEASE SEGA PUT THIS ON REVOLUTION the only thing i felt was out of palce was the controls.

The major time-sink games I played on the DC -

Test Drive Le Mans
Skies of Arcadia
Phantasy Star Online

I'm not Le Mans would be that great anymore, though.

If you are interested, I have the following I would sell off as a package deal. I hardly play the DC anymore, and it is in great condition. I just kept it around for my Street Fighter fix... But It would help me to clear shelf space for the Xbox 360 that is coming next month

Dreamcast
2 extra controllers
a few official vmus including a 4x one

Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3 : Double Impact
Street Fighter 3 : 3rd Strike
Marvel vs. Capcom 1
Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Ultimate Fighting Championship
Powerstone 2
Jet Grind Radio
King of Fighters 99 Dream Match
DC-X boot disc + Import of Last Blade 2 (the non-censored version)

There is a few other games that I might have forgotten to list here as well... I can't remember.

Email me at kingpen66@yahoo.com if you are interested and offer me a price.

No, there isn't - he meant PS2 = Power Stone 2, not PlayStation 2... that Power Stone 1 was more of a fighting game than Power Stone 2.

Crazy taxi
nba 2k1
virtua tennis
Soul Calibur
UFC (if you can stand the longass load times, its a fun multiplayer brawler)
Powerstone
SF3
Ecco
Skies of Arcadia (GC version is better though, but this one is still good)

these should hold you over until 2009 when the rebirth happens.
