He was heading home at around midnight, and got a flat. He was changing the tire and a truck hit him and ran off. According to the radio they haven't found the criminals yet...

I've always hated Calgary drivers...they are the absolute worst in any city I've been to, but now I feel like slashing the tires off of any truck I see.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I pray that nothing like this happens to any of my close friends. I'd fall apart and lose it. Again, I'm sorry.

I am very sorry. That is devastating. It takes just an unlucky coincidence to end a young life. I wish strength to you and his family - there's no way around it: the next years will be very challenging.

I'm truly sorry. You can never prepare for such an unfair, unexpected tragedy. I wish for strength to you and your friends loved ones. Often it is only at the moment of loss that one realizes how dear the closest people are.

Wow. I'm really really sorry. My deepest condolences.

I really couldn't imagine what you, or anyone affected by the event is feeling. I feel terrible just hearing it.

I hate some drivers. I really do. And the worst part is, you can't stop them from doing stupid things sometimes, because they're in their fucking car or whatever.

I'm so sorry man. I hope they find the fuckers who did this. It's not just Calgary, but yeah I know what you mean.

My condolences, to you as well as his family. Stuff like this is terrible to hear. I'm personally afraid of pulling over on the highway myself. My dad did it once when I was on the passenger side to check this park that was visible from the highway. We were going there to meet someone and he was seeing if he was there yet. I got pissed at him though. You gotta understand how dangerous pulling over like that is. As far as your friend, its even more heartbreaking knowing he never had a choice. Again, really sorry man :(

I'm really sorry for you man, that's just a really sad way to go...be sure to express your consideration to his family (I don't really know how to call it) and thebest of luck to you....I can imagine how though something like this is for you...I hope I never get in a situation like this....

Losing a friend to death is really hard to take... just try and remember the good times and good things about the person, and not the way they went out. Won't "make it better", but it's a better way of looking at it in trying to deal.

Sorry about your loss, sir.

That's awful. I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know you or him, but that's just a total shame that stuff like that has to happen. My sincere condolences.

Pics? Videos?

But seriously, sorry about that.

But why does everyone find humour in watching videos like that, yet one it happens to someone the (slightly) know, it's all like "omg sorry dude, my condolences to you and your family"

The driver and his friend that was in the truck with him turned themselves in today.

They claim they were drunk. Witnesses say that they swerved TOWARDS my friend and it looked like they tried to scare him but they hit him at 80 or so kph. I talked to his little bro last night, who was there. He said he got hit in the backside flew forward and landed on his head. When the brother went up to him, he was gargling on vomit and his eyes were rolled back. Besides that all he saw was a lump on his head. He tried to do CPR but couldn't get anything.

BTW this was in a residential area 2 blocks away from his home. You'd never think it would be that dangerous to pull over and change a tire...

My condolences to you as well, it's sad to hear about people who drive like maniacs and ruin the life of someone else.

An aquaintance of mine survived a similar hit and run. He was in a coma for months afterwards.

My deepest condolences.

I always try to take moments like this as a reminder to be as good to my fellow man as possible.

*Sheds a tear*

Horrible. Hope they get what they deserve.

Three years ago Tuesday one of my close friends died in a freak car accident. It’s always difficult when someone close to you dies, but it seems even worse when that person is so young and has so much life left to live.

My condolences to you and his family.
