Damn that was a fast response. Go San Diego PD.
Gotta love it. Depressed dude gets cuffed and put in cop car. Cant be havin no mental people out on the streets. I went through this as a teenager. They treat you like a criminal and then if your of a certain age get sent to the loony bin with kids that like to burn shit. legit help
If he's tweeting he's not cuffed.
Police will generally take sucidial people to the hospital.

This. Not all cops are assholes. They are paid to help people after all.If he's tweeting he's not cuffed.

Good work on catching it before it happened, OP.

I'll be gone for a few days
I think If he was actually going to do it he wouldn't have told anyone.
i was cuffed. He got lucky then. that or state law is different there.
Ehhh... Reading the rest of the thread now, I don't even know Wtf is going on. First he's on suicide watch but anticipating albums and stuff like that? This sort of sounds attention seeking for some reason. I'm having slight Deja Vu of a Law and Order episode.
This is absolutely not true for everyone. My grandmother was vocal about her plans (she was trying to get help but her husband withheld the money from her while simultaneously cheating on her) and she followed through. I've had 2 suicides and one attempt with people I've been close to, if someone says something I don't take at face value (unless they're clearly joking).I think If he was actually going to do it he wouldn't have told anyone.
My uncle shot and killed himself back in 2011. He had mentioned it in the past, and hinted at it a number of times, but no one believed he would ever actually do it. It went on for a few years even, and got more intense over the last few weeks of his life. On the day he did it he acted perfectly normal, flat out told my aunt while they were out eating and a trip to Walmart that as soon as he got home he was going to kill himself. I don't think anyone believed him even to that point. Then he did it.
This hits incredibly close home to me. I truly do hope that we prevented something horrible, I really do.
How did they find him?

Well. .
I hate to laugh at this situation, but the guy probably doesn't even know NeoGAF exists, and we got him put in a cop car.
I hope he gets the help he needs.

I hope he has some good insurance, then. It would suck if all this accomplished was giving him horrible medical bills that he can't afford, putting him into debt, making him even more suicidal.

that's not uncommon, i knew a guy who bought concert tickets months in advance and talked about how he was hyped for future games and movies and then he was gone.

Hopefully that doesn't go against him if he seriously does not have the actual urge to do it, but that could get him in some trouble possibly. More than likely as I mentioned, they will just take him to suicide watch in the hospital. Bad part is if he's not insured, he gets the bill. Also, suicide watch is actually pretty crappy too and hopefully he's able to stay calm and change his mind about killing himself otherwise next step he'll be taken to an actual mental hospital, which from what I've heard is even worse. I suppose it's whatever needs to be done to ensure he doesn't harm himself or others. It would suck.
But along with suicide threats, he made mention of how he thinks about killing people.
He only has himself to blame if he's inconvenienced by someone calling the cops on him; as sorry as I feel for him you don't mess around with suicidal people making mass shooting threats.
He's into fighting games, so wouldn't surprise me if he reads gaf.I hate to laugh at this situation, but the guy probably doesn't even know NeoGAF exists, and we got him put in a cop car.

People are 'on' imgur?
I thought it was just a place to upload cat pictures and meme's. Didn't realize you could be 'on' it.
Same here. I'm curious as to what you can do "on" it.

I've known the guy for years and I don't think he was serious.
Pretending to be depressed was just his gimmick and having just talked to him a few days ago and how calm he seems in his tweets just reinforces that.
He really did screw up though, hopefully he learned his lesson. At least I hope that is the case.

Cops take your property away from you get detained.
Except when you are in suicide watch, they take everything from you. You cannot even have so much as a magazine. If you're going to jail, yes. Not if you're going in to a hospital for a psych evaluation.
